These guys cannot be trusted! We had them come over on a Friday night, during a snow storm to figure out why our furnace wasn't turning on. Before the technician even opened our furnace, he looked at it and said that we needed a new one. He asked how old it was, then guessed that it was about 30 years old. He was at our house for an hour taking apart the furnace, and after putting it back together, condemned it because he said we have a minute crack in the heat exchange, then refused to turn on the gas. He said he could get a sales person to our house that night and have a new furnace installed, but with all of the after hours fees, it would be an additional $450 on top of the cost of the new furnace. He admitted that the heat exchange was NOT emitting any carbon monoxide, but would still not turn on the gas. Of course I was terrified because we have young children and was scared to be in our house. We chose to only pay for the service then got a second and third opinion the following Monday. Neither company saw anything wrong with the heat exchange, nor did they condemn the furnace. They would have gladly sold us a new one, but didn't see any immediate need of replacing what we have. Schaafsma tried to scare us into a sale of a furnace. Must have been desperate for sales after the mild winter we had. I won't be giving them a call again.

They were really good explaining our furnace situation. They informed us on our options for our project in the basement. They gave us different levels of financial options. They are very professional.

We had been having issues with our boiler for the past few years. Every time they would end up getting the issue resolved, but it would take many trips and several hundred dollars. Finally after they had worked on it, the exhaust started leaking and carbon monoxide was detected. I had asked them on several previous visits whether we should just replace the boiler. Finally asked to replace the unit. They were nice enough to do it that evening, but couldn't finish due to one wrong fitting. They came back to finish the next day. We thought our problems were over.... but... Upon subsequent visits to finish the water heater loop, the technician notice that the plumbing was incorrect. They did redo the entire thing at no extra charge, but it was still not installed correctly. The unit would cycle on and off every 30 seconds. They dismissed it as normal. After a almost 2 years, the unit started going into error. I was fed up with Schaafsma by then due to their lousy work on our A/C (that's another story) that I contacted the manufacturer and found out that they weren't even certified to sell their brand! They put me in touch with another service center. They came out and fixed the unit for $160.00. If Schaafsma had come out it would have been at least $300, from my previous experience. Stay away from these guys, they don't have competent technicians.

They are good and I will use them again.

Our first conversation was in late October 2011. The work is finally being done in December. That part was frustrating. The team who came from Schaafma's was excellent, interacted well with my dog and went way beyond their job to accomplish the promised work. THe subcontractors did the work well, but getting them here was a challenge.

It was a whole lot of work. They were very easy to work with and it was a positive experience. They offered a financing plan that was helpful to us. They were very dependable and were here when they said they would be. They were very consistent and reliable. We did some comparison shopping and they were not the least expensive but for the product they were good. We would use them again.

There was a crack in the heating exchanger and they fixed it, later after a week it shut down due to excessive carbon. I called then again than they said I have to buy a new heat exchanger.

It's always a good experience. We haven't had to use them in a couple years because our furnace has been good. They are good a good company.

After talking with the second opinion guy, we decided we didn't need to do anything at the moment. The second opinion guy actually used equipment to check on how much coolant the AC had. It had plenty. He said the motor was "IFFY" but said he would install a new motor for us if it should go, we wouldn't have to buy a new AC. That would save us some $. He also checked our furnace. He checked it while it was actually running to see if there was noxious gasses being emitted. There wasn't. He said there was no way one could tell by sticking their finger in a hole and telling that way. So we are very disappointed with Shaafsma. We have used this company for many years and never had any complaints. Needless to say, we canceled the sales appointment.

They did an excellent job. Our old furnace failed just before we left for vacation. We needed a new furnace installed the next day. They came out the same day I called and inspected it. They sent out a salesmen out later that day. We selected the furnace we wanted and they installed it the next day. We used them previously to maintenance our old furnace and our a/c unit. I have been using them for the past 10-12 years.

He was prompt, very courteous, and very professional. The whole thing lasted about twenty minutes.

They were the third estimate I got, best price and actually listened to what i wanted: A decent ac unit, nothing fancy since we plan to move in 4-5 years. The sales rep was brief accurate and to the point, respected my time and I appreciated it. Instal was fine. A slow water leak developed near the coils in the basement, I called, they came in 2 days, right on time. So far they haven't called to schedule a repair to this and I'm dissapointed by this, it's been leaking for a few weeks. The sales rep came out and said his instal guys messed up and it was a stupid mistake. I expected them to call same day to repair...still waiting it's been 3 days.

Several people at work recommended Schaafsma to me. They were also highly recommended on Angie?s List, so we just had them out. Everything went smoothly.

In some ways they were pretty accommodating because I needed them to do some custom ductwork. In other ways I was concerned because they had an apprentice do some of the work and I dont think he was monitored enough. There have been a few things on the system that have gone wrong since it was installed, but I'm not sure if it was due to the installation or not.

From the estimate to the completion of the job, the employees from Schaafsma were porfessional in all aspects of their work.

Installation and follow up were great. The unit has been working well all winter.

We contacted a couple different heating and cooling companies, and set up appointments for estimates from two. Schaafsma was able to schedule an appointment the next day, which was two days sooner than the other company. In fact, when the repairman found that he had finished early that day, they checked with us whether it would be okay for him to come by at the end of his day- a day early! He was came on time, was courteous and helpful, and explained everything carefully to me without being condescending. It was clear that regular maintenance was an issue for us, so he went through a couple options the company had for regular cleaning programs, and even showed me how I could save money. The A/C works great. He'll be back in November to make sure the furnace does too.

They were prompt, efficient, and professional. They made sure the temperature was comfortable for me when they left and also were careful to ensure that my pets were safe. They are trained in watchfulness and care of pets, so they would not let them out of the home unless the owner gives the OK. I would highly recommend them to others, especially because they were willing to work with me on financing options.

THEY WORKED AROUND MY SCHEDULE, WHICH IS AN EXCELLENT COMPANY TRAIT. THEY WERE HELPFUL AND THEY MADE SURE I KNEW ALL OF MY OPTIONS. THEY RECOMMENDED WHAT WAS BEST FOR ME AND IT WASN'T THE EXPENSIVE OPTION.

THEIR WORK WAS EXCELLENT. THE MEN WHO CAME TO MY HOUSE WERE VERY FRIENDLY. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL BRINGING THE FURNACE INTO OUR HOUSE. THEY WERE DONE VERY QUICKLY, AND THEN THEY WERE ON THEIR WAY.

THEY WERE ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH US RIGHT AWAY. THEY SENT SOME VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE OUT TO OUR HOUSE. THEY ALSO HAVE SPECIAL OFFERS RUNNING ALL OF THE TIME SO YOU ARE ALWAYS GETTING A GOOD DEAL.

THE COMPANY WAS PROMPT AND VERY HONEST. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WERE REASONABLE WITH THE PRICE. THEY DID NOT LEAVE US WITH ANYTHING TO CLEAN UP. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

I REALLY ENJOYED THE SERVICES THAT THEY PROVIDED. THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND COURTEOUS. THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I AM AN IMPORTANT CUSTOMER. I WOULD HAVE THEM COME BACK TO MY HOME AT ANYTIME.

THEY MADE A MESS OUT OF IT. THERE WERE PIPES RUNNING EVERYWHERE. WE HAD TO HAVE THEM TRY 3 TIMES TO PUT THE PIPES IN THE RIGHT PLACE. THE PIPES IN THE BOILER ROOM WERE POORLY PLANNED OUT.
