Description of Work: Used the $29 AL Big Deal for 30 minutes of HVAC help. We have a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim split AC/heat-pump system and one of the wall-mount condenser units was not draining condensate water due to some spray foam insulation that had squashed the vinyl drain tube where it pierced the wall (i got a bit overzealous on sealing this hole). A simple fix, just need to disengage the unit from the back plate, tip it up slightly to access the drain line (without messing with the copper refrigerant lines), and pull/loosen the tube. problem was, I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the condenser unit free from the mounting bracket attached to the wall (i figured there be a simple tab or clip mechanism that would be obvious once pointed out). so i called the provider and was told, yes, there is a simple clip mechanism (he actually tried to explain it over the phone, but i wasn't getting it). So they say they get the AL Big Deal and they will send their split HVAC "specialist" to show me. so two guys show up & when i show them the condenser, i get the feeling they are very hesitant/unsure of themselves. Then, one literally just starts yanking on the wall unit, saying it "should just pop off". Serious pulling, up, out, down up, out, etc...While he's doing doing this, the unit is literally coming an inch or so off the wall, and I can see the mounting plate it's attached to flexing/bending as he's straining on it. I had to yell for him to stop before he ripped it off the wall. I called their office, and was transferred to a guy who explained the "unclipping" procedure over the phone (there are two clips that are disconnected by gently prying with a screwdriver, and the unit lifts off/tips up effortlessly. I disconnected it myself with the two techs watching. now the wall unit is not flush with the wall due to a bent mounting plate from the pulling/yanking effort. They asked if there was anything else they could do for me. Seriously. Booted em out.

Description of Work: I contacted HVAC to review an issue with air flow for heating. I was surprised to learned the tech wanted to charge me extra charges for the inspection and a diagnosis of the issue with air flow. The only work which was completed by the technician was applying duct tape to the registers in the basement and making a few suggestions on the duct work . | |The promotion specifically stated a 30 minute diagnostic service call at $29.

Description of Work: Was told that my furnace was already very clean. Also told gentleman who performed the service that once furnace was turned off, that upon completion, he needed to push a reset button to prevent water from spilling over from the humidifier. He did not do this which caused a flood in my basement when I went down to do laundry days later.

Arrived punctually for all appointments, answered my emails quickly and generally did exactly what I asked them to do in a timely manner at a price I deemed to be reasonable. I later hired them to do a furnace inspection with the same results. No fuss, no drama, just steady professional work. I am entirely |comfortable recommending them to any one in need of HVAC work.

Description of Work: Don't remember the cost but it was very reasonable as it was an Angie's deal. I think it was about $60.00 for a furnace cleaning and inspection. The tech told me things about the furnace that other companies never mentioned.
