A-1 HARDWOOD FLOORS

I went with this company to have my oak floors refinished based on his reviews and his product he uses. He did a nice job sanding but I was upset to see that none of the cracks between the wood were filled in. Even where there was some damage to them. All my estimates included the sand grit stuff to fill these in. When I inquired he said we never discussed that and it wasn’t included. I paid more than my other estimates because of his reviews. He advised me to fill in all the cracks in July with putty. None of the putty matches and I didn’t pay $3000 to fill in every crack with putty. Also, whoever did my steps damaged the heck out of my newly painted walls going up my steps and also ruined my up-risers when they should have been left alone like half of them that they fortunately didn’t do! They matched just fine being left alone. I also was charged more to do them. Pictures show the damage which will cost me quite a bit to hire it done. They gouged my walls Had I seen that damage I would have made him repair them. The cracks are an eyesore. I have had wood floors done before in another home and they always included the layer of filler grit put on all over the floors If you go with this company make sure you discuss what all is being done and the price for it. FYI They also left all their garbage from the job for us to dispose of. + 2

Adam & team did a great job, and I had some unexpected repairs along the way due to holes in the floor where the old radiators had been connected. Adam ran every issue by me prior to continuing, so I would know the cost involved. The finish is simple and brings out the beauty of the wood. I ooted for tge glitsa (sp?) finish, as it was not high gloss. Make sure you understand terms of payment in advance.

It was a good choice and we are glad he suggested it. We paid a very resonable deposit and scheduled the work for a few days later. They showed up when they promised and delivered more than they promised. The floors look brand new. Sanded and refinished. No mess or dust. I would use A-1 Hardwood Floors again and recommend them with no reservations.

Adam and his assistant, Ricky, were professional, very good at the job and cleaned up everything at the end of each of the two days. We recommend them and plan to hire again. Adam was helpful with recommendations for wood options

Adam, the owner, talked with me one-on-one every time I called. He came out and did most of the work himself with one other worker. It was very important to me to find a quality finisher because I spent a lot of money and put a full week's worth into installing my floors. They did a fantasic job as expected and were very professional. They cleaned up the jobsite, were punctual, and very efficient. I would recommend this company to anyone and would use them again if I needed to. Adam recommended a different finish (Glitsa) than what I wanted to use, but did not push the issue when I decided to use something else (standard poly). They taped off the rest of the house and did not impart dust into any other area besides the room being sanded and finished. Again, great company and really quality results.

He put the hardwood floors and there's a lot of bubbling with the lacquer that goes over the top of it and they were uneven, so it looked like he used this swirl standard, the swirling but we could see the swirl mark all over the floor so we called him and we had him come over and he had to redo the entire floor because it was uneven. When he came over the second time, he obviously rushed it and he didn't put in the plastic that guard off the site the second time that he came so you could tell it was almost like he was upset that he had to come redo it. It's an $8,000 floor that we had just put in. He put the floor in and he came and redid it, so he left and we've seen a lot of bubbles, it's the lacquer so again it wasn't like, we didn't really like it. So we called them and he gave us an excuse that his father passed away, I completely understand and his brother wasn't doing well, I completely understand and this has gone on up to this point like right now, we still haven't have this issue resolved with him. We let it go for a little while because he was having family issues, I completely understand that but he wasn't returning phone calls until like 2 weeks later and it's just like, it's been an ongoing situation but the floor is still not what we want. I would not recommend them to absolutely anybody. It was reasonable, we had done research on the price and they're expensive.

The floor does look good but we had many problems. They left construction material piled outside and did not remove it. The door to the garage was left open and all the sanding dust was blown on our furniture which was being stored there. Bedroom doors were opened (no work was being done in bedrooms) and furniture, bedding and carpets were coated with sanding dust. Freshly painted walls were damaged. Nothing was covered with plastic and the sanding dust was even inside the kitchen cupboads resulting in all dishes and cooking equipment needing to be washed before use. We had to hire professionals to cleans walls, ceilings and light fixtures. Overall I think they were very unprofessional, rushed through the process and spent a lot of time outside screaming into a cell phone. The additional cost of over $500.00 to hire cleaners should have been covered by A1.

It went fine. If employees smoked they smoked outside away from my kids. They showed up everyday and worked methodically to get the wood to look great. Adam is high energy and very specific for his work.

They were very courteous, professional and timely in their work. The quality is just excellent. They had 2 works to do the job and they didn't waste any time. I'm very happy with the end result.

His name is Adam and he is really good. He did a wonderful job on it. That floor had a couple of serious scratches on it and it just looked like brand new when he got done with it. We are thinking of calling him back and having our grand room completely done in hardwood. They were very fussy about their work. He was recommended to us by the owner of a company that installed ceramic tile in our living room. They were prompt. They were clean and cleaned up. The floor was rough and he sanded it. He put plastic up where it led into the other room so that none of the dust would get in there. They were wonderful.
