Description of Work: Creative Deck Design installed a fence, pation and a landing with steps out of my house. Getting an estimate was easy. Many designs and materilas to choose from. Price and quality competitive. Installers were professional and completed all of the work in a timely manner. all the work looks very good. |Only one issue that I have is that the lock on the gate can't be locked. They replaced part of the latch once but the lock still cannot be locked. The key will turn and lock the gate but then I cannot remove the key from the lock. I am still waiting for them to return to repair the lock.

Description of Work: We had Creative Deck Designs install a fence around our pool. We were in violation of a county code & needed the work done quickly. CDD complied & for a reasonable rush fee completed the job in 3 weeks time. The problem was with the final fence. The owner personally came out to discuss the fencing details with us. Our main concern was that our small (18 pound) dog not be able to get out of the yard. We showed the owner the dog & he promised us it would not be a problem. When the fence was 'complete' there were large gaps underneath where our dog could & did quickly escape. We informed CDD immediately of the holes. I have never encountered such horrible customer service. The owner said we had never had a conversation about the dog (I find it hard to believe he forgot about the 1-hour debate. It was our top concern.) Our mistake was not having it in the contract & trusting his word. His previously charming demeanor had vanished and he was a complete jerk. Totally unprofessional.

 + -1 moreThey did a very good job. We are very pleased with the work that these contractors did. They showed up on time and cleaned up afterwards. They are mentioned Angie s list but we first heard about the list from these contractors.
Description of Work: They installed a deck in my backyard. The deck is 175 square feet. The flooring is polyester vinyl material made of procell. The railing is made of composite. They took away the old wooden deck and installed outdoor lights. The work took a few weeks.

 + -1 moreWe were referred to Bob Lehman by a neighbor who had Creative Deck Designs build a deck. We like the finished product; so, we interview Bob ourselves. Bob provided a very thorough presentation including on-the-spot sketches & product line samples; however, we still felt like we needed to do more research & extended our interviews to 5 competitors. While prices varied from $12K to $23K, not all companies were willing to oversee the electrical/lighting & patio portions & said we would have to contract those components of the project ourselves. CDD said they could & they DID handle EVERYTHING. We were willing to pay slightly more for the security of having all the work well supervised and warrantable by one company. The permit process took about a week but work began shortly thereafter. The crew showed up on time, were courteous & cleaned up daily. Chris, CDD's Office Manager, was available during regular business hours via phone and/or e-mail to discuss billing/receipts.
Description of Work: Creative Deck Designs consulted with the original design of our deck/porch and then graciously catered to our very specific needs and wants. Despite the alterations we requested, CDD kept all construction costs within the estimate delivering a stunning addition to our home. CCD built a 302 square foot deck using 100% pressure treated framing lumber and Procell Brand flooring. They included a 12 post/stair lighting package with a timer, a trellis/bench combo in the corner of the deck, lattice skirting with an access door as well as a 10 X 13 patio with pavers to match the stone on the front of the house. It has quickly become the showcase of the neighborhood and I am confident there will be many other Creative Decks Design projects in Hearthstone Community at Severn Crest. Bob's company also assisted in obtaining both the Home Owners Association approval as well as obtaining all permits and scheduling the necessary county inspections.

 + -1 moreOn the first day the lumber delivered and holes were dug. It rained that night and into the following day so, we lost a day to weather. On day three we came home from work to better than 1/2 deck. The following day the deck and fencing were completed but holes not filled back in. I called Mike (our project manager) and he sent the crew back out and they filled them in. Over the weekend we had a chance to examine more closely and found a few imperfections which I spoke to Mike about and he had the crew come back out and make repairs. We still have a couple of minor issues but expect them to be finished up next week. The decking is beautiful as is the privacy fence around it. We are very pleased. They cleaned up everything and left the yard in good shape. Mike was always accessible and addressed our concerns. He even came out after hours to inspect the deck with us. They pulled all the permits and coordinated with the inspector. Everything on the up and up.
Description of Work: Approximately 200 sq. ft. pool decking extended off of original house deck and around one end of our oval above ground pool with privacy fencing on new deck.

 + 0 moreCreative came out promptly and on time to provide an estimate. They made very good suggestions regarding the deck design. In fact, the suggestions they made led me to rethink my original plans for the sun-room and I was pleased with the result. They also made good suggestions on how to deal with difficulty in matching my current siding for the sun-room trim By going with a vertical placement of the siding, it worked very well. The work started on time. The crew made significant progress each day, working around an ice storm and other winter weather. The final clean-up was excellent, including a power wash of the new deck. They returned to fine-tune some sticking of the windows.
Description of Work: Creative Deck redid my existing sun-room, replacing sliding glass doors with 4-track tinted windows and 2 knee walls. Also replace flooring with Procell decking. In addition, added a Procell deck off to the side of the sun-room, with white railing and a set of stairs from the deck.

 + -1 moreThe salesman came out and did a preliminary drawing and gave an estimate. He came back out to do a final drawing and go over options. Because of the size, they were concerned about seams but they came up with a herringbone design that made the seams invisible. The crew that came out was wonderful! They worked in the snow, cold, and in the dark to make sure it was done. It took four and a half days but there was not a minute of wasted time. They came in, dug the holes, moved the gazebo and hot tub, and got to work early in the morning. They made sure everything was working before they left and cleaned everything up. We asked that they leave some of their extra material and some of the dirt so we could reuse it. They asked before they left their trailer in the driveway to make sure it would not be in our way. The guys were friendly, hard-working, and very proud of their work.
Description of Work: Building a 23'x13' ground level deck (on very uneven ground), moving and supporting a 12 foot gazebo, lighting, railings, and benches built into the deck.

 + -1 moreThe project manager/estimator gave a thorough estimate breaking down all of the components & going over each one. He was responsive in returning my calls & in following up on any issues. I received a total 3 estimates in addition to Creative Deck Design, 2 of which were in the same ballpark (but no lights were included), but I only received a bottom-line number, which turned me off. The 3rd estimate was broken down very nicely also, but it was about $2,500 higher & did not include any lights. CDD gave me 2 days notice as to when they would begin & they arrived as promised. They completed the work in a short amount of time, cleaned up everything, & did a wonderful job on the deck.
Description of Work: The original wood deck, railing, & steps were dismantled & replaced with PRO CELL decking, vinyl railing, & a gate. Lights were also installed on the railing posts & steps.

 + -1 moreTHE DEMOLITION OF THE OLD DECK WAS DONE VERY NEATLY. THE NEW DECK WAS INSTALLED AND CUSTOM FIT TO OUR SPACE ON OUR PREMISES. THE WORKERS WERE POLITE AND KEPT MY YARD CLEAN. THEY REMOVED ALL DEBRIS. THE NEW DECK IS GORGEOUS, AND THE WORKMANSHIP IS EXCELLENT. THE COMPANY IS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. THEY STAND 100% BY THEIR WORK AND THE MATERIALS THEY USE.
Description of Work: A NEW DECK WAS INSTALLED USING PRO CELL COMPOSITE RATHER THAN TRADITIONAL WOOD. THE DECK WAS 45' X 15' - EXTREMELY LARGE WITH STAIRS AND A GATE.
