Description of Work: Replaced tile on Kitchen Floor.Tim Whiteman and his associate PIE did an exceptional job. Reasonable price. Came as scheduled. Finished promptly. We were completely satisfied.

Description of Work: I contacted this contractor about a flooring installation due to the high marks from other users. Unfortunately, he never even gave me an estimate for the work. Below are the e-mails (with dates) that went back and forth, and to date I have received nothing further from him. To me, this indicates that he is not interested in the work and is not professional enough to just tell us that up front. July 18, 2011 (message from me to contractor via Angie's List) Your profile caught the eye of an Angie's List member in your area, and they've left you the following message: Hello - I purchased 1' slate tiles for my kitchen (13' 4" x 7' 8") and sunroom (18' 8" x 9' 6") and would like to get an estimate to have those installed please. The sunroom was previously a screened porch and currently has a concrete floor. The kitchen floor is currently linoleum. Thank you! July 20, 2011 (message from contractor to me) I am on vacation this week and will get back to you on an estimate when I return on the 25th. Thank you. Tim July 28, 2011 (message from contractor to me) Hi David, Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. It has been crazy busy this spring and summer. I can give you an estimate based on the information you have given me. I wouldn't be able to do the job until sometime in Sept. because of all the other jobs I have lined up. If it can wait that long, email me back and I will put together an estimate for the labor and prep materials, everything I would need that you don't have already. I understand it is a slate tile? What area do you live in? We live about one mile off York Road in south Towson. Thanks! It is now 2.5 weeks later, and we have not heard anything from Tim.

Description of Work: Tim gave me an estimate for tiling my kitchen that seemed in line with the competition, but I couldn't find a tile I liked at the three stores he recommended that he'd pick up at for no extra charge. Found tile at another place, but haven't had it installed yet.

Description of Work: I needed about 300 sq ft of tile replaced in my entryway and kitchen. Tim came and gave an estimate and showed me pictures of his work. He was very detailed, including thresholds, how he would handle problem spots, etc. It sounded like he would have done a complete job--tear up to finishing touches. His price was a little less than another tile guy, but Tim wasn't available for a month and we were in a time crunch. So, I had the other tile guy do it. I wish I would have chosen Tim. The other guy just did the tile--no finishing touches, thresholds, etc. and he ended up charging even more than his original estimate--Tim had estimated 300 sq ft and the other guy had estimated 270 sq ft. Tim was right. Also, the other guy didn't lay the floor flat and some pieces were lose. Again, I wish I had waited the month for Tim. As soon as I can, I will get Tim to re-do the floor.

Description of Work: Tim is the sole owner of Tile Masters. He visited the job site himself did the work himself and did not use a salesman or sub-contractors. His company looks bigger than it is. His work is neat and professional so I predict his reputation will become much larger over time. He took out my bathroom toilet and pedestal sink and then the old vinyl floor. He installed the new tile over the old tile beneath the vinyl. He grouted and caulked the new tile. Then he replaced the broken ceramic soap dish and replaced it with a new one. He patched the area as needed and then installed three new towel bars. My bathroom is a standard Baltimore 5X8 black and white: nothing fancy. It just needed a touch up and not a transformation into a Euro-Spa. I supplied the tile and grout. He brought in the small things he needed like caulk, etc. He gave me a little more work than I had contracted for because it was easy for him to do. He made me a happier customer by offering.

Description of Work: Tile Masters removed a window seat and an old wood floor from my bathroom and removed the wood floor from my laundry room, repaired damage to the sub floor, built and leveled an appropriate sub floor surface for tiling, and installed and grouted ceramic tile in both bathroom and laundry room. He also removed and replaced the moldings as required, caulked as needed, and removed all the debris from the tear out.

Description of Work: Tile Masters tiled my 5 x 7 bath and the shower in my 2000 square foot home.

Description of Work: We had purchased ceramic tile from another retailer, and Tile Masters installed it for us in our foyer, kitchen, hallway, and bath room. It was approximately 560 square feet installed.

Description of Work: Tile Masters prepared our kitchen sub-floor, more than 400 square feet with two layers, first with a rigid concrete board and then a relatively new material that Tim recommended due to the placement of our joists, and then he tiled it with ceramic tile. We removed a partition railing between the kitchen and family room and he put down a wood end-strip the length of the step. I work out of my home and have three children plus a dog. I was very comfortable with Tim and his assistant in my home, due to their professional demeanor and obvious work ethic. When I had to leave my home for appointments during the week, I had no concerns whatsoever. Tim takes pride in his work; as well he should. His company is aptly named because he is a TILE MASTER!
