Excellent fast service. They cleaned the leaves of the deck and out of the flower beds. They helped me pull a vine out of the tree and finished the last 30 foot of the driveway even though I was out of paid hours. Would definitely use them again!

I needed to have a retaining wall put in so that future renovations on my house would be possible. Dave, from The Outdoor Advantage, came out and discussed the possibilities. After hearing the different options for a brick and mortar wall, I was somewhat discouraged. Dave then came up with a wonderful solution: a natural looking retaining wall made of boulders. Though the price was a little higher than I budgeted, the idea just resonated with me. The work crew was very professional and courteous. They worked hard to get the job done quickly. They even helped out when one of my large pines, about 90', fell over due to the wet ground and strong winds. The tree was not even part or near the construction of the wall. I was called at work and informed about the incident. By the time I returned from work, the tree had been cut up and cleared. What a fabulous and totally unexpected surprise! My new boulder wall looks fabulous. It is unique and fits the personality and feel of my home. I would strongly recommend Dave and his organization for any outdoor work. He is creative and one can tell that he truly enjoys his work, which are two very important factors that I look for when hiring a contractor. I will be using them again if I need more hardscaping/outdoor work.

Purchased a "Big Deal" for $300 worth of lawn service for $149. I have a rowhouse in Baltimore City and needed to have an old stump removed from the back yard and some tree branches trimmed away from utility lines. Vendor come out to give me a quote for the work. I forget the exact amount of the quote, but it was in the $400 range. This seemed a bit high for the amount of work. That meant that I would have had to pay $249 at the end of the day. That still seemed high to me. So, I just used them to remove the old stump and bought my own pruning saw for about $50 to do my own tree branch trimming. They did a pretty good job removing the stump. I have found that most of Angies List "Big Deals" are really not such a big deal after all. Read the fine print, know how much the work normally costs, factor-in that by buying the "Big Deal" you are committed to the vendor because you have already sunk your money into the "Deal." At the end of the day, you are generally better off shopping around and not getting tied to a vendor before even getting a quote.

We placed the call and got and estimate. We set up a time, which was very soon after contact, and the work was done perfectly. I can't think of any way it could have gone better.

I was first on the list that day - which was great. They showed up at around 7:00am and got to work immediately They were finished almost before I could get out of the door to talk to them. About 8 guys were there sweeping and blowing everything to a large vacuum truck for pickup. I wasn't sure if this deal would be worth it because I usually clean up this myself when mowing the lawn with a mulching mower. But there were so many leaves this year that I decided to give this a try. I'm sure glad I did! The only challenge is the scheduling because they can't really do this work if its raining and we had to work with the weather. I'm very satisfied.

The crew of employees sent to spruce-up your property in the Fall is large, efficient and well-equipped. They can remove leaves, trim bushes, cut the grass, and remove ivy or other vines from fences. I have found that detailed instructions must be given, in advance, by email. Even then, I have sometimes had to request that they come back to finish the job that I described in my email. However, that follow-up visit is always arranged, promptly.

Dave Ewell, the owner of Outdoor Advantage contacted me via email the same day I purchased the deal. He asked me when and what I needed done. I told him I wanted to wait until December to have the work done he said that was no problem and he'd be in touch. And he was! Early in December I recieved another email from Dave telling me the approximate day they would be there. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and the job had to be postponed. Dave sent me several emails to update the day of service. The day before the work was to be done Dave sent me an email letting me know the approximate time they would be there. That morning I got a call letting me know they were on their way and that they might arrive early. And they did! The foreman (sorry I've forgotten his name) came to the door and explained what they were going to do. He was very polite and personable. The other guys had jumped out of the truck and got to work. Ihad to leave to go to work. When I returned home that evening the front and back lawns were visable with not a leaf in sight. The yard looked beautiful. Then I realized they had cleared out all of the leaves from the flower beds. All of them!

Everything went fine. I used their big deal price. My overall experience with them was excellent.

They were very good about contacting me via email, letting me know about schedule changes, and performing the work arranged. I would use this company again.

Very well. The company sent over about 8 individuals who performed the work in about 6 hours. They not only cut, trimmed, bushes and excess unwanted vines, but they thoroughly cleaned up and removed the debris

I had a lot of leaves in the back yard, I felt that with a good crew and a vacuum truck, it would be relatively simple. I paid significantly extra I did not get the job I expected. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY to get my yard done.

After purchase, the contractor emailed me for an approximate date I"d like the service done. Weeks later, I checked to see if they really service Northern VA. They didn't, so I got a refund.

Initial response from company for an estimate was very fast. Follow up e-mails for other estimates were a little slower and I had to follow-up. Work was done within 48 hours of e-mail correspondence. Overall VERY happy with the results. Will definitely contact the company again.

I would not hesitate to use this contractor again. he is reliable, honest, reasonable as well as competent. what more can you ask for?

Dave Ewell went out of his way to help me to assess whether the leaf removal deal they were offering would cover the work I needed done. He was also responsive in the scheduling of the work. The team worked quickly covering a lot of ground but sometimes moving so fast that areas were missed. However, they were responsive to my request to go over a few areas that were missed. Although the cost per man-hour was on the high side, Dave and his crew went out of their way to tackle the leaf blowing work for us. So, overall I would have to say that I was pretty satisfied with the experience and would recommend them to others for leaf removal.

This was a "Big Deal" offer. Originally we were scheduled to have the work done about 30 November. Because of weather and I think, because there were more takers of this deal than the company expected, the work was not done until 14 December. However, the company kept us updated about when the work would be done (changing the projected date several times). The delay was not a problem for us - time for more leaves to fall. Four man-hours was not enough to do our whole yard, but the men worked hard, and the front of the house looks good. I would certainly use this company again.

They were efficient and professional. In two hours they were done. I couldn't expect more and would recommend them to anyone.

Overall I was very pleased with the way things turned out. They arrived promptly in the morning and laid out the plants where they'd go to give my wife and I an idea. We were happy with the arrangement and had them extend the work to the side of the house too. They reshaped one flower bed and mulched the whole area that was being worked on. I would not hesitate to work with them again.

The Outdoor Advantage provided a crew of people who were here for approximately 2 hrs. They did not arrive at the scheduled time ( they came early when I was not at home) but I had left a note with detailed instructions and they completed the work before I returned home. I would have preferred to be present. They followed the written instructions and the work was satisfactory. I would recommend this company. They were professional and did a good job.

The house is a small bungalow, so they came right away and did the work.

We bought this deal through Angie's List "The Big Deal." The advertisement stated we were purchasing 4 hours of leaf removal. After we paid, they scheduled the service and then told us that this deal was for 4 man hours so they will split up the 4 hours between 5-6 guys. They said any additional man hours would cost us $60 per man hour. We told them this was not what was stated in the original deal that we bought but Outdoor Advantage claimed that they can clear .5 acres in the alloted time that we paid for. So we did not push the issue because Outdoor Advantage said they could complete the work in the alloted time. Our lot is only .38 acres so we figured it would be a moot point to argue the man hours issue if in fact they can clean our yard in the allotted time that we already paid for. When the crew arrived, the cleaned our front yard but didn't finish the back and side yard. What they did clean they did a good job. But, instead of letting us know that they were about to leave or to ask us if we want to purchase additional hours, the just packed up. By the time my husband got outside, most of the crew had already left and the guy that was left said he was told to leave. They ended up blowing what they didn't pick up back in our yard and they were blowing leaves in our neighbors' yards which we later got complaints about. We called the owner and we got no resolution. And when we brought up the fact that the deal that we paid for did not specify anything about man hours, Outdoor Advantage blamed Angie's List
