Radon Abatement Services (RAS) had certain, correct radon tests performed, demonstrated sound experience and good judgment in developing radon abatement plan, demonstrated good workmanship, dealt intelligently with special problems that arose, and stubbornly refused to give up its efforts to solve my radon problems. Crew came on time and kept the interior of the home spotless.

I called many times on several different occasions. Once I finally received a call back I was told he would come check out my problem on Thursday. Thursday came and almost went when I finally had to call him and he said he was not coming because he" never said" he was coming. He was very argumentative, unprofessional and I would never use his service nor would I recommend it to anyone.

John was recommended to me by the Realtor, and I had no idea he was so highly rated on Angie's list, but it is no surprise. My phone call was returned in a reasonable period of time and John sent me a comprehensive proposal which I felt was competitively priced, and we moved forward. John's team called as promised 30 min before, and met me at the house, right on time. It was a pleasure to work with people that obviously enjoy their job and working for the company. Walter, the team lead, introduced himself and the team and gave me his card. He inspected the house and went through the options. Although we had passive radon in the house, the pipe was not accessible, so they had to install the device on the outside of the house. Let's be honest, this is not a glamorous job! Going through people's attics, basements, and crawl spaces is not something any of us would want, but these guys really jump in and did a great job and left the work space clean. At the end Walter showed me what they had done, and explained everything to me. If you need any Radon work done, you owe it to yourself to at least get a quote from Radon Abatement Services.

We discovered we had slightly elevated radon levels in our house as we were in the process of selling. We were required to put in a radon mitigation system by the buyer. We only had two weeks prior to closing so were working on a very tight timeline. I called Radon Abatement Services and they were able to fit us in prior to our closing. The person that came was professional, explained the work that he was going to do, and discussed options with me for where to place the system. I found him very easy to work with and learned a lot about radon and the removal process. The system was installed, we had it retested and it reduced the level way below the EPA recommended limit. In addition, we were able to pass the warranty on to the buyer of the house which they really appreciated. I would highly recommend this company!

We were very satisfied with him. We had a very difficult job and he really kept with it and got the job done. We tried to pay him extra for all the extra work he did, but he wouldn't take it.

Mr. Jim Humphreys provided an estimate for radon mediation that was competitively priced and consistent with other highly rated company?s designs. Once I selected the bid from Radon Abatement Services we agreed to a mutually agreeable date and time for the mitigation system installation. I should note, Mr. Humphreys arrived for each scheduled meeting within 15 minutes of the agreed time, and he went one step beyond by telephoning me in route to advise me of his expected arrival times. Once they arrived and started the installation, it was immediately clear to me that they know their business, and that I had selected the right radon contractor. The system installation was made in an unobtrusive location in my house, the workmanship was first rate, which actually provided for a good looking installation. In summary Radon Abatement Services did what they proposed to do, on time and on cost, and the initial post mitigation radon test results show radon levels well within the government recommended safe levels for occupied residential spaces.

John Swett was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly reliable. I live in a condo in an historic building that is over 150 years old, and there were numerous forms to complete, approvals to obtain, and hoops to jump through before I could get approval to install this system. John responded to each and every request in a timely manner, provided everything I needed for these various boards and committees, and came to the site to meet with the engineer and to provide samples of materials to be used. He was great. The day of the installation itself his crew came on time and worked non-stop throughout the day, getting the entire system completed in one day. My post installation radon test came back with radon virtually undetectable, so the system is obviously working well. He found a location out of the way, in the corner of a closet, so it is not even visible in the room. I couldn't be happier with the result, and have great peace of mind knowing the radon is gone.

Fan was located under our deck in a window well, not easily accessible. Team leader Amando&his helper cheerfully and skillfully removed & replaced the fan & installed an exterior electric box nearby so we could control power going to the fan. They were very professional, competent, & a pleasure to deal with.

Fantastic company. Installer in Ashburn was experienced, knowledgeable and did high quality work. Installed the ventilation pipe from an unfinished bedroom floor in the basement, ran it outside with the fan and vent pipe at the roofline in the least visually offensive place. Sealed off sump pump. Highly recommended and the price is right.

The owner emailed me right away after using the online form on their website. He was really responsive to all the questions we had, and provided very clear descriptions of the work performed. When the workers came, they worked quickly and cleaned up when they were finished. Everything went exactly as described, and the system is up and running with a one year labor warranty and five year parts warranty. This is one of those things we had been meaning to do for a while, and feels great to have it in place. I would highly recommend this company for anyone that needs radon abatement.

Despite the snow storm, the team arrived on time, covered the floors and got to work. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. John Swett and his workers were responsive and prompt.

Jim Humphreys and his co-worker were very apologetic about arriving at our house about 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment. We were thrilled that we didn't have to wait around all day waiting for a contractor to show-up, to which we had resigned ourself from past experience. They surveyed the home and found that there it would be slightly more difficult to install the system than anticipated when they gave their estimate over the phone. They apologized again for having to charge $50 above their original estimate; again, the reason that they provided was valid due to the foundation and elevation of our home. They got to work immediately, worked diligently, respected our home, and completed in the time they told us. Jim Humphreys is very friendly and professional and a pleasure to work with.

These guys were great. Very responsive, very honest, and the system looks great. They went above and beyond and I feel they went out of their way to accomodate me. The crawl space adds some extra complexities to radon abatements, but they know exactly what to do. They also provided me with a short term and long term test kit so their work and quality could be verified (or they come back to trouble shoot). Even their work comes with warranties for peace of mind. Would highly recommend to anyone.

John was easy to work with, he took the time to discuss his plan to address the issue and what he would do if it did not work. He indicated he did not want to take additional abatement steps, and increase the cost, if they were not needed. Prior to calling John I discussed doing the abatement with a different business and the business owner indicated the system would cost significantly more and he was not willing to come to the house, discuss the layout of the house, discuss a possible plan to address the issue, or do anything else unless I would pay him $650 to do additional testing beyond the testing that already identified we had an issue. With John's knowledge and understanding of our house and the houses built in our area in the 1950s, we ended up not needing any additional testing, just abatement, which was a sucess.

I highly recommend Radon Abatement Services. John is easy to work with and his team (Armando and Cesar) did an excellent job. From calling and getting everything scheduled, John was responsive and pleasant. He had to come to our home to see the layout and situation to give a better estimate and he was on-time and the assessment was quick. We were lucky enough that we had to pay the base price with just $75 more to place the pump in a finished area so that the outside pipe would be inconspicuous. Armando and Cesar gave me 30 minutes lead time to get home as discussed and were earlier than planned (for better or for worse). They were also only there 3 hours instead of 4, which was a bonus. The system was installed well and looks as inconspicuous as it can. We just got our results back from our short-term test and it reduced our radon levels from 3.4 pCi/L to 1.1! If you need this service, use this company!

I called on a Monday and spoke with a person and she said Jeff would call me back. I followed up again on Tuesday and they said they would call me back. It is now Friday and nobody has called me. I needed my system repaired (maybe a new fan, motor). I guess I was not a big enough job to warrant a return phone call.
