Payless Plumbing & Heating

This was actually the third or fourth time I have used Payless Plumbing which originally found on Angie's list in September 2012. On this occassion I noticed a leak coming through the main floor ceiling. Zivko was able to come out the very next morning. Identified the source of the leak and repaired the toliet. Zivko is usually able to return a call in less than 24 hours usually the same day. He is very flexible about meeting your schedule and shows up when he says he will. He explains options and gives detailed quotes. He is very neat and always cleans up after the job. I don't have a lot to compare prices to but I feel they are very fair. The largest job he has done was to replace a water heater a year ago. I am pleased with his work.

Finally, an honest, efficient, plumber that is happy to do the work and leaves things as clean or cleaner than when he started. It was everything we could want in a plumber. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time for a fair price. The sink and toilet are now in perfect working order. Our house is over 50 years old and another one of our toilets will need replacing. Without having anything in writing that we will use Payless for the installation, he confirmed that we understood that toilets are different sizes. When we did, he still took the time to measure the size of both of our toilets to be sure we purchased the correct size. He also explained the differences in the older toilets and water savers and made recommendations on what we should look for. I agree with the other reviewer's response to the negative reviews - - there are some people in the world that just are unhappy people. I will continue to use Payless because he is so professional and more important ethical.

This guy is the best you could ever find. Period. Knows what he is doing. Great personality too.

He was great. He did the job correctly and I was happy with him. He showed up on time. He did a great job and his follow up was great.

This is the at least the fifth time we have hired Payless Plumbing. Our house is old (1927) and had not been well cared for. Additionally, we wanted to update, change and correct much of the plumbing work. Zivko has always responsive and fair, and he does outstanding work. He can also be creative, when needed. Not sure what's up with a couple of reviews. I can only imagine nothing he could have done would have been satisfactory. Zivko consistently exceeds our expectations, and we will continue to hire him for all our plumbing and heating needs.

I've been using Payless since 2010 but I can't any longer. The prices have jumped significantly (which isn't the problem) and his level of....support (can't find a better word) has diminished a bit (which is the problem). I used to feel like I could trust him but after this last visit, multiple communications and obtaining other estimates for system replacement, I told him I would not be using him again. I think that's fine with him since I live in an area he doesn't support any more. Nice guy but be careful. If you have a big job, get multiple estimates that clearly outline the scope of work in writing. I would not go with Payless for heat pump replace because his estimate was lacking key items addressed by other companies. When I asked about those items, I didn't get a response. Prices...he quoted $229 to replace a faucet. Home Depot charged $109. Communication...sent a few txt msg he said he didn't receive. Even showed me phone but everybody knows you can delete select msgs

I've used him many times. He has a wide range of skills for HVAC services and he's very reliable. It's typically very affordable as well.

Payless Plumbing and Heating were pretty good. They did a very professional job. We've used them several times since then so we kind of made him our de facto plumber. He's very good, reasonable prices, fairly responsive and friendly guy.

Installed two shower heads and fixed a toilet leak.

He was great! He gave me an accurate estimate on the phone which was $560 cheaper than another plumbing company we had come give us an estimate. He arrived on time and with all the materials he needed. He was finished in 45 minutes and it was exactly what we wanted. He cleaned up so there was no debris or dust and even gave us a discount! He took credit cards and the whole process was easy and painless. We will use him for future plumbing needs!

We used them on June 2nd, 2011. We thought we had a plumbing problem and then when he saw it he said we didn't have to worry about it. We thought we had water damaged and it was obviously old water damage and we didn't know that. It was fine and we tried to find a few little things to use our deal for the two hours. He was very nice and we would use him again but we didn't really have two hours work of plumbing work it turns out. He’s knowledgeable, professional and honest.

He was amazing from the beginning. I wanted an Energy Star water heater (These are more expensive, but save money in the long run) and found one online. Normally, customers do not find their own water heaters, but I really wanted an energy efficient one. Another plumber suggested that I call the local supplier, and when I did, I found that they could order the one I wanted. But the estimate the company gave was about 3 1/2 times the cost of the heater. It's normal for plumbers to mark up their goods, and I think they deserve to make a good living. But, I thought the first estimate was a bit high. So, I called "Mr. Z" at Payless Plumbing just to check to see if other plumbers would charge that price. Mr. Z checked with the supplier, gave me a price that was $650 cheaper, and came over to check the site. My old one was leaking, so he told me where to shut off the gas and the water in case I needed to. He then ordered the heater and came over two days later to put it in. He is cheerful, competent, and informative. In less than three hours, the heater was in and the old one was in the front of the house where the recycler found it and took it away. A few minutes ago, Montgomery County came to inspect it, and it passed easily. The whole thing was a pleasure.

They came when they said they would. He got the job done in a timely fashion. He even came back a second time, as the faucet I purchased was missing a piece and he installed it. It ended up working out well.

I called Zivko (aka Mr. "z") on 27 March and left a message telling him I wAs looking for someone who knew something about radiant heating systems. He called back about 8:30PM. We doscussed my problem and he offered to come right over to my house. I apparently have a leak in the system but it is very small so I told him it was not that urgent. He then askeed if between 8 and 8:30 the next day would be okay. I agreed. I was amazed he offered to come the eveninmg of the 27th. He arrived a little before 8:30 on the 28th. After checking my sustem and my problem, he said he was not an expert in the older radiant heating systems but did work on the newer ones. He suggested the name of a plumber with whom he had worked anmd whom he said was a plubewr before he (Z) was borne so he knew about these older systems.He spent an hour reviewing my prblem, explaining how newer systems worked and how in efficient mine is. He also pointed out that my indoor-outdoor carpet on the floor was too close to the furnace firebox and prooceeded to cut it away. He gave me the name Alfronso, Alfonso's phone number and said call him. I asked how much I owed him and he said nothing. He said he gives free estimates but could not give me one for something he did not feel qualified to do! I called Alfonso who was equally helpful and generous with his time.

Excellent experience. My initial email inquiry was promptly acknowleged. My follow-up questions were answered, and an appointment was set, all via email. The plumber arrived a few minutes early, was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgable. He completed the work quickly, cleaned up well, and explained all facets of the work thoroughly. As with any plumbing change on a 50-year old house, there were a couple of small surprises, but they were handled well. The price was on the low side of reasonable,

.& Originally the job was just to replace the faucet in the kitchen. My husband then asked him to check an section of pipes related to our hot water heater and the outside water shutoff. This was not part of our original work request but he took a look & confirmed what my husband feared --we had several leaks & one bad connection that needed replaced. Although the additional work was not part of his scheduled call he didn't hesitate but started fixing what needed to be done. I liked that he explained exactly what needed done & discussed with my husband the steps needed to correct the problems. He was pleasant and professional and definitely not a time waster. We were very please with the work done by Payless Plumbing. Pleased enough that I'm about to contact him again for another job.

He contacted me within hours from the E-mail sent to him. Unlike other providers that I had contacted previously and told me that they cannot make the kind of money to pay for the Angie's list services by just installing client provided faucets (Coleman's Plumbing), Zivko agreed to perform the work offering me two appointments (one next day and one two days later). He came as proised, perforemd the work, tested the functionality of the installed fuacet and cleaned up after the work was done. Very professionally and curteous. I would definitely hire him for future work.

This is the 3rd time I have used this company-the same person did the work on all 3 visits at a 1 bedroom condo rental unit I own. On the first visit, he repaired a leak under the kitchen sink. He said the brand new garbage dispsosal my husband installed needed to be replaced-he said it was too powerful and it was causing the leak. I believed him after asking many questions-he was unpleasant and disrespectful, like I was being a pain in his you know what-I needed the sink fixed-$300 later we were done. It was the end of the day-so I decided he must've been tired. I later hired him to fix a leaky bathroom fawcett-he replace the internal parts-the unit itself is less than 3 yrs old and very good quality-less than a year later it was leaking again. When I asked why the repair did not last he got very defensive and disrespectful. The reasong he gave the repair not lasting made no sense at all-like he was making things up. I will never use this service again. If you like being talked to like you are an idiot, call this company-they won't let you down.

We called Payless (which I found on Angie's List) and left a message. Withing the hour we received a call back. The technician arrived the same day as scheduled and performed the work successfully. He went right to work , explaining things as he went along, and solved our problem. We definitely would call him again and will recommend this company to others.

My experience with Mr. Z was very positive; he returned my call promptly and scheduled to come the next morning, which he did. My bathtub was leaking water into the floor below, causing water damage in my living room ceiling. Mr. Z was able to get behind the tub and quickly diagnose that the water was leaking into the space behind the tub due to old/cracked rubber rings as well as loose trim around the faucets and a loose escutcheon. He had the supplies on hand to replace the sealant, tighten the hardware and caulk around them, thereby fixing the leak and stopping the water from leaking into the floor behind the tub every time someone took a shower. He was very explicit in showing us what the cause of the problem was by demonstrating it happening, as well as how it stopped after he fixed things. He wanted to ensure that we knew the diagnosis of the problem as well witnessed it's repair so that we never felt we were being lied to or ripped off. We were very pleased with the results, as well as his promptness, knowledge and effectiveness.

Them managed to fit us in with less than a days notice. I was pleased with the updates throughout the morning as they communicated estimated arrival time. They have a great attitude, worked quickly and efficiently and a great value all around.

Provided phone estimate and arranged a convenient time for work. Was prompt, pleasant, courteous and professional. Work was excellent. Took time to attach faucet adapters and hook up a new water filter (not a required part of job). Would highly recommend this company.

Prompt call based on email requesting service quote. Provided estimate over the phone pending no extenuating circumstances. Arrived as planned. Did not have part required, came back on Sunday at no additional cost to perform work. Courteous, knowledgeable and willing to help. Corrected leak in pipe, replaced oversized main shutoff valve for water. We also had an issue with a drain working slowly and he offered to snake the pipe. Cost was minimal and the additional service support offered without hesitation. This is the second time we've had this drain snaked and it works better now than it ever has. Zivko is a master plumber and the service cost was reasonable. You can't go wrong.

The gentleman was prompt, did good work, and I was satisfied with the results.
