 + -1 moreZivko Grozdanic, Mr. ZG, called yesterday to schedule the installation of my new garbage disposal. Since he already had an earlier appointment in Alexandria for this morning (a Sunday!), he offered to come at 1:00. He called ahead when he was leaving his earlier appointment and arrived exactly on time. Upon inspection of the old disposal, it was obvious that the pipe attached to it was corroded to the point of failure. Mr. ZG was able to replace the pipe from stock on his truck and he then proceeded to replace the disposal. The total time for both tasks was less than 2 hours. Mr. ZG was cheerful and pleasant, and very informative. He made sure I understood how to clear any mechanical jams and to reset the disposal. He not only cleaned up all of the debris from the old disposal and pipe, but also managed to remove the accumulated grime from the sink. I am absolutely delighted with the service I received.
Description of Work: Last week, I purchased a $300 coupon from Payless Plumbing (on Angie's List Deals) for a new garbage disposal and installation. Upon inspection of my sink, it was obvious that I also needed a section of the pipe replaced as well. Payless Plumbing replaced that as well, for a very reasonable $80 additional.

 + -1 moreAfter I broke my kitchen faucet, I tried to install a replacement. I had neither the tools nor the skills necessary to do the job well, so I contacted Payless Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could assist. Not only were they able to accomplish the work, they did so as promised, less then 24 hours after the call, and on a Sunday no less! He took his time to do the job correctly and was very friendly and personable. His prices are reasonable for the amount of time he took. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Replaced kitchen faucet and repaired leaky shutoff valve under kitchen sink.

 + -1 moreOverall we felt that Zivko did a fantastic job in clearing the drains. He gave us a reasonable price for the work and showed up the same day.
Description of Work: Our basement utility sink was clogged and water was sitting there without draining as well as the bath sink downstairs. Zivko cleared the drains witihin one hour and we were able to do laundry right after. He came the same day in just a couple of hours to take care of our problem. While there he adjsuted the plumbing in for a toilet and check the kitchen sink for blockage. Very good service!

 + -1 moreThe owner (Z) arrived promptly and was very profession in his approach to his work. In addition, he returned the following day to replace a part that he did not have immediately available in his truck. One of our commodes is very, very old and, while it still works, repair of a certain part would be helpful. Z spent his own time trying to find out if the required part was still made (it is not)---and called to report his finding to me. He said that all his work, including extra research, was covered by the Big Deal!
Description of Work: I used an Angie's List Big Deal----and the company was very thorough in it's repair and checking of several commodes in our home.

 + -1 moreOur experience went well. He was pleasant, worked efficiently and cleaned up after he was finished. He answered questions and took time to explain what he was doing and why. ( I sometimes ask a lot of questions.) I would highly recommend him. His prices are very reasonable.
Description of Work: Replace/ repair a broken faucet and repair/ replace a leaking pipe. He tried to fix existing faucet but it was beyond repair. (we suspected that would be the case.) After discussing the pros & cons of types of faucets we went off to buy a new faucet while he began working on leaking pipe. The pipe was the pipe that fed water to the ice maker in the refrigerator and it was dripping down onto the top of our water heater. The leaking pipe was in a very cramped spot that was quite awkward to reach so I was interested in seeing how this was going to be done. Contorting one's body and squeezing into tight spaces must be a requirement for plumbers because getting into the space did not give him a problem. The leaking pipe was a different issue. Every time he cut out and fixed the problem area a new pinhole leak would begin spitting water everywhere. After several unsuccessful tries we decided to have him disconnect that pipe and the problem area was gone. If we decide to put in a new connection we'll have him back. Replacing the faucet went quickly and I love it.

 + -1 moreTwo reviews: Today (4-1-2012) I called Payless Plumbing in the morning about a clogged toilet I had been trying to unclog myself since Friday. Everything I had tried failed. Mr. Zivko agreed to come at 3:00, he arrived on time, and completed the job with a smile on his face in less than 15 minutes. I don't know if $99 is steep for unclogging a toilet, but I wasn't able to do it myself and I was expecting to be charged more. Several months ago, I called Payless Plumbing because a different toilet was leaking around the base. I had the same experience. Mr. Zivko arrived on time, fixed the problem, and I don't remember feeling that I had paid too much. He is a very friendly and honest man.
Description of Work: Two jobs: First job - unclogged a blocked toilet. Second job - fixed a different toilet with a leaky base.

Description of Work: - I had a rocking toilet in a bathroom. Mr. Zivko explained in details what could be the problem (either just old broken bolts and wax ring to replace, or something a bit more complicated to fix such as a broken toilet flange). He gave two estimates for both of the repairs and depending on what would be found once the toilet lifted. Actually, he was right, and the toilet flange was badly broken (probably never replaced in 60 years and badly fixed with cement). He supplied and installed the toilet flange (which seems to be sthg hard to find), wax ring, closet bolts, new supply line and he recaulked around the toilet. I was quite concerned about the job to be done because the cast drain pipe is very old and all rusty and could have been damaged when removing the old broken flange. But, Mr. Zivko did a very professional job. I appreciated that he took time to explain and show me each and every steps of the process. Afterwards we both tested to check whether everything was ok (no leak to be reported in the bathroom and in the lower level). - He replaced a fill valve and a supply line of another toilet. - He replaced the condensate water tubing of the AC unit which runs to the outside of the house. - He supplied and installed a new hose bib on the back of the house (the former one was leaking). He tested it to check if everything was ok, explained what he did and recalled not to forget to winterize the hoses.

 + -1 moreI had a badly clogged drain line from my kitchen sink. I had already cleared the traps myself, ran a 25' snake and tried drain cleaner and was unable to remove the blockage. Working on my house is never as easy as it should be since it has been remodeled by a previous owner and there has a been a lot of questionable DIY work. I'll spare the gory details, and long story short, Zivko got the drain cleared and correct as much of the plumbing around the sink as was accessible for an extremely reasonable price given the amount of work he put in. I will definitely call again when plumbing services are needed.

 + -1 moreI called on a Saturday and Mr. Z returned the call, and came out the next morning. He fixed the leaking facets in the laundry room and the problems with the kitchen sink. A section of pipe was paper thin and leaking; the kitchen sink had been installed without a washer where it meets the drain pipe; and someone had joined a metal and plastic pipe with slightly different sizes and used plumbers putty to fill in the gap. He replaced the worn section of pipe, added an adapter to join the different size pipes, and added the missing washer at the base of the sink. In addition, he also explained how to avoid additional problems with the plumbing in an older house. He was professional, pleasant, courteous and thorough. I would recommend him to friends and call for plumbing problems in the future.
Description of Work: We had installed a washing machine with electronic components and the facets in the laundry room started leaking. Also the pipe under the kitchen sink had developed a leak in a section of pipe that was soldered in place.

He ended up spending many more than 2 hours in doing the work, but the cost for his time and parts was phenomenal. I couldn't be more pleased. In fact, when my brother decided that he needed to have a lot of plumbing work done in his house (e.g., replace two toilets, replace kitchen, bathroom, and basement faucets, repair leaking outdoor faucet, re-caulk bathroom tiled wall to prevent leaking, replace master shut-off valve, and replace water heater), I wholeheartedly recommended the work be done by Zivko. My brother was as pleased with Zivko's work as I was. I would definitely use Zivko for any plumbing work that needs to be done in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's List big deal giving me 2 hours of plumbing work. He offered to come out the same day at 5pm. He actually arrived early. He quickly fixed the two toilets. We had a bunch of other small issues that he quickly fixed as well and provided us some feedback on home renovation work we'd had done. All for just $210. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

 + -1 moreWe had a few problems that needed attention. I called Payless because of the exceptional reviews and the proximity of our location. I called Zivko in the AM and he was able to come by only an hour later. He was able to replace a stretch of copper pipe that had a pin hole leak in it as well as clear our backed -up kitchen drain. At first, snaking the drain did not work but Zivko came back at the end of the day to clear the drain with a pneumatic tool that did the trick. He is very personable and knowledgeable. We have to replace a shower faucet and I have already called Payless to do the work. I would and will recommend this plumbing company to anyone.

When they called they said they could come that day. They arrived earlier than they had first thought. They looked at the at the problem, saw they needed a part. While at my house realized he could easily fix one tap that I thought needed replacing, did so right then, with a spare part he had, without charge. Zivko responded quickly to my request to schedule an appointment. He arrived on time, did the work efficiently,and gave me some good advice. He followed up a few days later to make sure everything was okay. I would absolutely call him again for service.
