Description of Work: Our situation needed a quick turnaround and although the provider was coming out as soon as possible (within 3 business days of contact due to his schedule) we ended up needing an evaluation sooner and therefore the provider did not do the work.....However, this Provider was very responsive via Angie List Email, which I appreciated...even during the weekend. Did give me a reasonable price quote for the information and pictures of the issue that I sent. I wish I would have contacted them sooner and will be contacting them first for my future plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Payless fixed a leaky bathroom sink and replaced the faucet on the back of the house. The previous fall they replaced our hot water heater. Jobs at our house are never easy as our space is quite small. Payless found solutions in all instances (getting the water heater and himself under our steps was a real trick). They are clear about what needs to be done and choices available, thorough, tidy, friendly, and fair price-wise. I think they are great.

Description of Work: He came to inspect the outside faucet that wasn't turning on after the winter. Thinking that there might be a problem after the really cold winter, He made a few adjustments and thankfully there was no break in the pipe. He came over earlier since he was in the neighborhood. Now it is working just fine. He had also replaced our garbage disposal once before. He is reliable and knowledgeable and responsive.

Description of Work: Pros were that the plumber, Zivko, came on time (actually one hour earlier than planned) and that he changed out my bathroom faucets for ones I had purchased to replace them. I had had a persistent drip and my oldPrice Pfister faucets no longer made the bonnet/washer replacements. He looked under the bathroom sink and noted any problems that he saw and then he replaced the fixture. He tested it by filling up the sink and then letting it drain to check for potential leaks. He had also gone to his truck to get a new replacement tube ( dont know the name for it--that runs from the faucet into the drainage pipe). He was in and out in about an hour. Cons are that he told me he does not like to work in Condos or Co-ops (where I live) and that he usually charges more that the quote of $100.00. I asked why as he was clearly replacing either the washer bonnet or the faucet set. I was unclear about his answer. I paid $149.00 in the end and I think he did a great job. I would use him again--if he would even come out.

Description of Work: The faucet in one of our showers was leaking from behind. Mr. Zupnik came on Saturday and assessed that the faucet was broken and water was backing up into the wall. He filled in the hole behind the faucet on the wall to prevent future leaks into the wall and tried to replace the faucet with one he bought at Home Depot, but the new faucet was defective. He agreed to return on Monday with a new replacement. Meantime I decided to buy a matching replacement online. He agreed to wait, came the following Saturday and finished the job He also noticed that our shower head was installed backwards and fixed that as well, and also recauked part of the tub. If I had been paying by the hour it would have been much higher. Mr. Zupnik did excellent work at a very reasonable price. I would certainly use his services again.

Description of Work: I was very pleased with Mr. Z's quality of work and professionalism. He was able to respond within 24 hours of my call for help in clearing out a drain that prohibited the use of the washing machine, kitchen sink and dishwasher. He came back a few days later to fix a clog in the A/C unit, remove and cap a toilet and install a tub fixture. He's dedicated to his profession, is service-oriented and prices fairly. After leaving my house in Arlington on a Saturday afternoon, he was off to Gaithersburg!

Description of Work: Mr. Zivko or Mr. Z did an excellent job for me on 7/3/12. He installed a water-powered back up sump pump in my basement. He was timely, and cleaned up behind himself. His price was reasonable and competitive and was hundreds of dollars lower than the estimates I received from the big name companies that we all know.He checked the water psi before installing to ensure there was enough water pressure for the pump to work properly when needed; and he tested the system after installing to ensure everything worked properly. He installed the back flow preventor that many plumbers try to skip because it requires WSSC inspection. His work passed WSSC inspection without a hitch. I would definitely use Mr. Z again and I do recomend him to others. He is also very friendly--a bonus.

Description of Work: Mr.Z has to be the best plumber on the face of the earth. He's punctual, professional, cost-effective, has integrity. I called Payless Plumbing and spoke with Mr.Z. He completed some work previously & I was thouroughly impressed. I called him again because there was an obvious leak that was running under my carpet and wood flooring. I had no clue where it was coming from. He was able to come a few hrs earlier & I was home so he stopped by to assess the problem. Within 1 min of walking in and looking at the mess he walked straight to the problem; My water heater busted. Immediately he went into recovery mode & began shutting off valves & the gas to prevent a greater problem. He gave me a price estimate & informed me of the county permits I would need. He insured me that he would install it correctly and according to regulations. The next morning he arrived promptly with his crew & began installing the new water heater. He does amazing work!

Description of Work: Second time I used this company and it was just as great as the first time. Prompt, super knowledgable, super nice, quick and great price. Have this guy on speed dial. Had a leak and tore out the wall to find. Had no idea of what I was looking at. Payless came in, found the problem, EXPLAINED the problem then fixed it.

Description of Work: When I called to set up my appointment, Zivko was booked but volunteered to come out on a Sunday morning despite the fact, as I found out later, that it was his 2-year old son't birthday and he was in charge of the afternoon barbecue. He arrived several minutes early, snaked the drain of a vessel sink in the bathroom as I had asked and diagnosed what we believe to be the real problem, inadequate venting ot the sink done by remodelers before I owner the home. Instead of just changing the venting system (and in light of his schedule) he quoted me a price to do the work and suggested that I spend a few minutes on the Net to see if other people who had had similar problems had resolved them by the method he was suggesting. No hard sell and a nice man who gave quality service and good advice at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?
