Serving Maryland, D.C. and Virginia, All Aspects Waterproofing the leader in service and quality. Over 35 years experience, providing the quality workmanship needed to keep your basement dry. Our life of the structure warranty is a reflection of our commitment to ensure every customer is satisfied. Whether you're a homeowner or a perspective buyer, having a dry basement will add value to your home.
Since we had to move a fair amount of "stuff" out of the basement prior to the work being done, All Aspects very nicely accommodated us on the scheduling of the work. This was a fairly major project as it involved jackhammering a roughly 2' trench around the complete perimeter of the basement, drilling pressure relief holes in the foundation walls, installing drain mats along the walls and installing a ~3" drain line in the trench feeding two sumps. The jack hammering was quite noisy, as expected, and took the better part of 2 days, followed by the rest of work. Everyone involved, from the estimator, to management/office personnel and the installation crew were professional, polite and accommodating. The work crew were punctual, the crew leader did an outstanding job of both keeping us advised and keeping things moving. They cleaned up nicely both at the end of each day and when the job was completed. While somewhat expensive, All Aspects Waterproofing did an outstanding job for us and I would unhesitatingly recommend them for similar work. The guarantees and the transferable "dry basement certificate" were pluses, but the professionalism and the quality of the work make the price worthwhile. We had selected All Aspects Waterproofing, in part, based on Angie's List reviews/recommendations and they proved to be quite accurate. In the for what it is worth category, we had a major series of storms with snow, wintery mix and perhaps 5" of rain in the 3 weeks since the work was completed and nary a drop of water in the basement! In retrospect we might have been better off having the work done other than in the dead of winter, but even with some weather issues, we are very satisfied both with the work and with All Aspects Waterproofing
Description of Work: During the initial estimate, provided a detailed discussion of options and alternatives, to include references. Installed complete perimeter drains in both the basement floor and foundation walls, as well as a pair of sump pumps. Prior to the work being done, they did a very complete analysis, including cutting (and patching) a test hole along one wall of the basement to evaluate both the slab and the volume of water underneath the slab.

We had a leak in our basement that we thought was from water seepage after heavy snow and rain. Zeeker came out for a free consultation and was punctual, friendly and unbelievably helpful. While the water seepage was not from the floor (but from the HVAC condensation pump), he pointed out some easy ways we could improve some cracks he noticed in our floor. Overall he was knowledgable and super helpful. Hopefully, we won't need any basement water proofing soon, but if we do I'll definitely use All Aspects and Zeeker.

Bob came out and looked at the area of my basement that I was worried about and he said he didn't see an obvious problem. What I took to be evidence of water entry was more normal discoloration. He also looked at a number of are areas in the house, such as finished part of the basement and our crawl space and didn't see any reason for concern. Then we went outside and I showed him an area of water accumulation. He said it was something his company could fix but their work would be subject to a minimum charge, whereas I could make the changes on my own for far less. I'm accustomed to home repair contractors trying to convince me to buy something whether I really need it or not and I appreciated Bob's candor.

After veriifying the initial work at Mr Zeeker Bozell, a regional manager for All Aspects Waterproofing came to my home to judge the work needed to prevent water seepage into my basement during heavy rains and to provide a price bid. All Aspects Waterproofing was the only firm of the three which I consulted that was willing to recommend an incremental approach, by which I mean they offered a contract that would do the minimum they thought was needed and which offered additional work at fixed hourly rates to be performed only if found to be needed because additional damage was discovered or if subsequent rains produced seepage that required additional steps. The approach we decided upon was to work on the outside wall first, and reseal it, to keep water out in the first place and to only dig an inside trench if resealing the outside wall did not end all leakage. Mr Bozell also treated some visible mold for free while he was doing the estimate and advised that if the outside resealing worked, the inside would dry out over time, possibly avoiding the need for expensive mold abatement and removal of inside plaster and wood framing. In addition he advised 99% of all mold is harmless, so it pays to proceed incrementally on this aspect of the work as well. If inside work was needed after the outside wall was sealed (with no outside pump to remove the water collected in a french drain), he recommended only a short (10 foot trench) to an already installed inside sump pump--not the extensive inside drains recommended by his competitors. His actual bid was 50% below the bid of the second lowest firm and 75% below the bid of the highest firm. The contract was flexible, specifying the initial work to be done for a fixed price and a per square foot add on for additional outside wall work if the outside wall had more extensive damage than originally thought, and a second add on per foot of any addition inside trench required if the outside work did not end all seepage. The icing on the cake was a 25 year guarantee of no water leakage which was the longest warranty offered by any of the three firms. I will be happy to write an addendum to this review when the work is completed which should be within a few weeks.
Description of Work: Came to House to estimate work needed and provide a bid. I signed a contract with this firm after receiving a third bid but the work has not yet been performed.

After years of water entering my basement, I reached out to an Angie's list provider, who proceeded to dig down to the footer of the house on the outside in an attemp to prevent water from entering the basement. I spent $2, 500. to get the job done on two corners of my outside wall, one side was successful, and no water came in, but the second side got worst and more water came into the basement after the work was done. The company who did the work, did the best they could and returned several times, trying to fix the problem without success. I was at the end of my rope, and performed several water test myself, trying to figure out where the water was coming from. There was no resolve to the problem, and that is when All Aspect Waterproofing saved the day. I am tardy in writing this review but wanted to thank the team at All Aspect for doing an amazing job, but more importantly, standing behind their service. Big shout out to Rusty...thanks for walking me step by step through the process, and to Nelson, whenever I called to ask a question, you never failed to respond. I would say, All Aspect Waterproofing is the Nordstrom in he waterproofing business. Thanks-Marcy

We recently bought a home that had a terribly stinky finished basement. The sales rep came out and told us our options and costs to make the basement free of mold and water. He was very professional and not pushy in trying to get the highest price work done. We elected to do the demolition ourselves to save about 8 thousand dollars. The work crew showed on time and finished the work in less then 2 days. They did a great job ... the work was done exactly as described and they left no mess behind. They had to carry a lot of 5 gallon buckets on busted concrete out to the truck. When I asked if they had sprayed for the mold the lead man said yes but if I wanted him to do it again while I was there he would be very willing to do it .....which he did. I now feel confident that the basement can be a place to enjoy as living space and I have not regrets at all on spending the money to get the work done.... the right way the first time.

It started with Zeek, the representative who showed up when we first purchased the house. I wanted him to evaluate the basement before we had the mold remediation people in to demolish & treat everything. He started right off asking me what I intended to use the basement for- did I intend on finishing it? Keeping it unfinished? This gave him an idea of how thorough we needed to be with our solution. He likes to have history to go on, but since we could not get that information from the seller (who professed the basement had been dry the whole time he had it), we had to base it on evidence of water that already existed. He drew up a proposal for a French Drain and vapor barrier around the whole basement. Zeek came back several days later when the mold remediation guys had done the demolition so he could see what the foundation looked like behind an old wall and we decided that the water was only coming in through the up-hill side of the basement and that we could get away with just putting the French Drain on one side (leaving the down-grade side untreated). In his words, I was taking a calculated gamble, assuming that the downhill grade would remain dry if the water was being addressed on the uphill side. I decided to go with it since it cut half the cost out of the quote. He was able to pin-point one corner in particular that should get extra treatment, so they dug down outside the foundation and treated it with a barrier to prevent water from coming in. We also agreed that the basement walls didn't need a vapor barrier in addition to what the mold remediation people did, but kept the vapor barrier for the crawl space. We expected the job to last 2 days. The crew of 4-5 guys showed up that morning and promptly went to work jack-hammering out the basement concrete, digging the trench for the drain, installing the piping, sump pump and stone work before covering it back over with concrete. They hit a drain line with the jackhammer and repaired that as well. I periodically checked in on them and asked questions to ensure they weren't taking any short cuts and to inspect the quality of the materials they were using (since much of it would be buried when the day was over). I was pleased every time I went down to inspect their work. They were courteous and considerate- even asking if they could drive over the grass to turn their truck around when I expected they'd be tearing up the lawn to get at the foundation anyway. They got the job done in one day. It was a cold day (below 30 all day) and they were out there with shovels using the headlights from their truck for light while they shoveled the dirt back in after they'd treated the foundation. If I have any criticisms at all, it's that they left our large washer, dryer and utility sink unhooked and in the middle of the cellar floor because the concrete needed 3 days to dry. I need to have a friend come over and move them back and (luckily) I'm handy enough to hook the plumbing back up to the utility sink. It's been raining and, so far, no water. So I am pleased with the care these guys took in addressing my needs, not over-doing it, and getting the job done right.

I called and left a message at the office to request an estimate to have a sump pump replaced. After 6 hours, I didn't get a call back, so I called again. This time I got a call back from the service manager, who said that they only have crews of 4-to-6 people, and that they'd have to send an entire crew out because of the way they do business. When I mentioned that sump pump service was something that was listed as a service they provided on their Angie's List profile, I was told that I'd be better off calling a plumber. While that may be true, it seemed to me that the service manager could've been a bit more polite in his delivery.

All Aspects Waterproofing (AAW) installed a full perimeter French drain system with two sump pumps. If you?re getting water in your basement, you want to move ahead quickly to get it fixed before repeated episodes occur. At the same time, installing an interior drain system is a complex, invasive, and expensive project that warrants thorough research before a homeowner signs a contract. Our water problem appeared in mid-June following the glancing blow the DC area received from Tropical Storm Andrea. I turned to Angie?s List and found that AAW clearly had the highest number of ?A? ratings and the fewest ratings with negative, worrisome comments. I requested an inspection visit and AAW?s front office promptly scheduled one. The initial visit was helpful but focused heavily on explaining the firm?s overall approach and touting their credentials. Some specifics of the project were provided, but other matters seemed to be of a TBD nature, that is, they would be answered when the work crew arrived. I told the inspector on this first visit, ?Thanks -- this is a lot to absorb.? After reviewing AAW?s proposal in the following days, and walking through our basement, I had numerous questions of a ?who will handle? or ?how will this situation be addressed? nature. One goal was to understand the scope of work for AAW versus items that the homeowner would need to handle. For example, AAW?s proposal required removing the shower pan and several rows of ceramic tiles in a small bathroom to clear the way for jack-hammering that section of the basement. In the laundry room, the hot water heater, washer, and gas dryer also would need to be disconnected and moved. Some drywall, studs, and a section of a built-in cabinet also needed to be removed. I learned that all of these tasks were the homeowner?s responsibility. A second goal was to get as clear a picture as possible of how AAW would handle certain things that were their responsibility such as the location of the sump pumps and routing of the outlet drain pipes. We wanted to get a clear picture of the project as part of vetting and choosing a firm ? not as something that would be revealed on the morning a work crew arrived. I asked AAW for a single contact for information, and AAW Senior Inspector Steve Maney was assigned as my go-to guy. Steve thoughtfully answered all of my questions during a site visit and in subsequent emails. He and field representative Rusty Mueller visited on a second occasion to determine how to handle a structural difference between the foundation in the laundry room and the foundation in the rest of the basement. I was very pleased with their responsiveness and answers and went ahead and signed the contract. Nearly two months elapsed between our initial approach to AAW and the decision to contract with them. AAW was always the front-runner, but it was important to get solid answers to our questions and feel comfortable about doing business with them. Both goals were achieved. The project began on September 10 with the arrival of a crew of about five workers, with Elie as team supervisor and Frank as co-leader. Rusty also was present to introduce the team and brief Elie on the specifics of the plan. Steve stopped by daily for a substantive visit over the course of the three-day project. Elie actually did most of the hands-on work of jack-hammering, and he directed laying of the gravel base and 4-inch corrugated drain pipe in the trench, installation of the sump pits and pumps, and placement of the PVC outlet pipes. Elie also seemed to be doing all of the smoothing of the wet concrete, which he did very skillfully. I had asked to be kept in the loop on progress and greatly appreciated Elie?s inviting me to check out the project at various milestones and answering any questions I had. Upon completion, Elie walked me around the whole project, and everything seemed to reflect the professionalism and skilled workmanship that my wife and I noticed over the course of the three days. One problem arose about ten days later following a heavy overnight rain. I looked into the laundry room sump, which I hadn?t been able to examine very closely at the end of the walk-through. In contrast to the workmanlike installation of the inlet pipes in the family room sump, the corrugated pipes in the laundry room came into the sump at an angle and were barely seated in the holes that were cut in the side of the sump. The piping here was simply cut too short. Gravel was clearly visible around the outside of the pipe, and some gravel had fallen into the sump, potentially interfering with operation of the pump. My larger concern was about quality because there was such a shocking contrast between the poor workmanship on the laundry room sump and the skilled workmanship on the sump in the family room, as well as the high standard of workmanship exhibited in all other aspects of the waterproofing project. The result did not look like the work of an experienced hand and should not have passed inspection if, in fact, it was inspected. I informed Steve of the matter by email and attached photos. The next day Steve and a colleague came by and fixed the deficiency by installing an extender on the drain pipe and applying caulk to seal the opening where gravel was falling into the sump. The matter seems to be resolved and AAW?s prompt response was appreciated. Overall we were highly pleased with AAW staff?s technical knowledge, workmanship, professionalism, and customer orientation. A few reviewers have suggested that AAW should provide more detailed information upfront to customers about various aspects of their waterproofing proposal and that they should strive for 100 percent success in briefing their work crew foremen before everyone arrives on site. But those likely are universal shortcomings of all waterproofing firms, a field where business greatly expands with weather crises and creates time pressure to juggle a variety of projects. AAW?s many positive reviews likely indicate that their performance in customer education and briefing work crews is far better than that of most firms. Customers also need to be their own advocate in seeking specific information about a company's proposal. Ask and most companies will respond That was the approach we took to achieve a win-win outcome. Throughout our project we clearly sensed a lot of professional pride among AAW's staff and a consistent customer service orientation. Our sincere thanks to Steve, Rusty and Jeff; Elie and Frank and their work crew; and Jutta and Tony in the front office. All Aspects Waterproofing is the Real Deal!

All Aspects Waterproofing was very responsive and accommodating to my request for an evaluation. I called them on a Thursday and I met with the company representative, Jeff Basham, on Saturday. Right from the start, I was very impressed with Jeff, who is certified remediation mold specialist. Since I had already excavated around the outside basement wall, Jeff said his company would not be interested in bidding on the work; however, he continued to spend time with me to help me understand my water issues and what could be done to finish the work and re-mediate my water issue. I had done quite a bit of research and Jeff answered all of my questions and provided great insight. I was hoping his company would be interested in finishing the exterior waterproofing and drainage installation, but I understand his company's policy. Although I can't comment on their pricing or quality of work, I was very impressed with Jeff and his company. First impressions mean a lot and they would be the first company I would call if I had any future basement waterproofing or drainage issues.
Description of Work: I called All Aspects Waterproofing to have them evaluate some water infiltration that I was getting in a corner of my basement through the cinder block wall and what steps could be taken to remediate the issue from the outside. Because I had already excavated around the outside wall, they were unable to provide a bid for the job but they did provide me insight and recommendations for my situation.

Brent stopped by to take a look at our basement to help us solve our mysterious water entry and mold issue. He took a look and it turns out that we had water coming in around our main water line, which is not as bad as we believed. Brent gave us a list of recommended actions to resolve the water entry and the mold, which will be extremely friendly to our budget, and we will certainly complete that list immediately. Brent also gave us some additional information on the cost to repair if the leak continues, which is very helpful. We will certainly call again if we have an issue beyond Brent's recommendations. A very big sigh of relief for us! A very grateful family here.

If you really want a french drain, then I guess you could use these guys. We had a serious water infiltration problem in our old stone foundation and called a number of so-called "basement waterproofing" experts. We were unaware that this is code for "french drain installers". We wanted to prevent the water from getting into the basement through some sort of treatment to the stone foundation and whatever exterior landscaping and gutter re-routing would be needed. Unfortunately everyone we called wanted to do the french drain. So we finally got an estimator from All Aspects out thinking that they could do all aspects of the water management problem. But no, they wanted to do the french drain too. Worn down (and inundated by rain) we decided to install the french drain and used All Aspects because their price was best. The workers were on time and cleaned up after themselves. One of them lacked a customer-service orientation, but overall they did a sufficiently professional job. The system really wasn't tested much afterwards because the rain tapered off for the rest of the summer. Then we finally repointed the stone foundation and regraded the exterior. This virtually sealed the basement from water infiltration, rendering the french drain system almost useless. We did use it to capture runoff water when rinsing the floors down before painting them, but that's a pretty expensive drain system for such occasional use.

At this time I have not made my decision as I still have two other companies coming out with their estimates. What I did like was Rob gave me a quote of which i do not want to disclose until I have my other two estimates and that was the actual price not an estimate. UPDATE: I just wanted to add another quality I am finding with All Aspects. I emailed their office because I forgot to ask if permits were needed in the county where I live. Rob called me that evening and said that yes they were. I received another estimate from a company and the salesman said No, I do not need a permit, they would get me one if I wanted to spend the extra $500.00. I know that the permits are not $500.00. I happen to work for the county and knew for a fact that in Prince George's County, Maryland you do need a permit otherwise as the homeowner you could be fined. I also wanted to clarify that when Rob came out to give me my price, he was there 3 1/2 hours but most of that was due to me and all the questions I asked. When doing a job like this one the consumer needs to take their time and ask all the questions. Rob never rushed me and was patient because I was asking the same questions but in different ways to see if I got the same answer and each time Rob came through. Again I still have not made my decision but I believe it is getting easier.
Description of Work: Rob, the salesman came out promptly at 10am as schedules. He took his time, 3 1/2 hours going over my entire basement and garage. We discussed different methods of what I needed. He suggested that I do then entire perimeter of the basement. I will say Rob was very knowledgeable and not pushy which I really appreciate.

I can't say enough positive things about Robert and our experience with All-Aspects. From the initial scheduling call, which was returned in less than 30 minutes, to our phone and in-person interactions with Robert we have only great feedback. Robert provided lots of information about wet basements and ways to address them in order to give us all the education needed to make good decisions. Our first estimate was for a full basement system. A week later we had Robert back to give us estimates for treating only a portion of the basement. He was very helpful in guiding us through the discussion to determine the best course of action for us. During that discussion we realized that we need to hold off on the project for a little while due to other life factors. Instead of pressuring us in moving forward, Robert presented us with all of the options he could and then was completely understanding and respectful of our decision to wait. He continued to work to gather all of the necessary information so that everything is in place and ready to go as soon as we are ready. I look forward to working with him again soon to complete the project!
Description of Work: Robert Ellis came out to our house twice to provide recommendations and estimates for the work that needs to be done to waterproof our basement.

Excavated along the foundation to repair a crack in the foundation wall that resulted in a water leak into the basement. Unlike others who were trying to sell us French drains with sump pumps which probably wouldn't fix our problem, this contractor provided the repair that was needed.
Description of Work: Repaired basement crack to fix water leak.

At every juncture of my interaction with All Aspects Waterproofing the staff was friendly and efficient. My first call provided the company with necessary details and was followed the same day with a call from a service manager to arrange an inspection. Given the severe rains of the previous weekend they were quite busy but an appointment was made for an inspection within five business days. I was called a day prior to confirm the appointment and at the appointed time, Zeek Bozell, a regional manager with the company, arrived to perform the evaluation. Zeek was the epitome of professionalism and within 30 minutes sized up the problem and made multiple recommendations. After some discussion we settled on a plan, but as it happened the scale and scope of the work suggested a smaller general contractor rather than All Aspects Waterproofing. Zeek recommended a contractor the company often uses and with my approval provided him with the agreed upon plan. The contractor contacted me the next day, visited the house that afternoon, provided an estimate on the spot and two days later arrived to perform the work. The evaluation from Zeek was free, and he emphasized throughout the visit that he wanted to find the most affordable and practical way to solve my problem. And that he did.
Description of Work: Following an extended period of rain two weeks ago I came home to find my basement flooded for the second time in four months. All Aspects Waterproofing responded quickly and professionally from my initial call, to basement inspection and recommendations for remediation of my basement water intrusion problem.

Zeke looked behind the drywall to find the source of the water. It turned out to be coming from a leaky pipe behind the wall, not from the outside (as we had initially suspected). He recommended we contact a plumber to fix the pipe. He charged us $0. Highly recommend this service. He could have probably told us it was coming from outside and charged us thousands, instead he found the problem for free.
Description of Work: We had mold in our basement. Zeke came out to diagnose the source of the water infiltration

During May/June of this year, we were having a lot of storms and had water come into the basement. After replacing our sump pump with another company, we were still getting water. All aspects credited us the labor cost of the sump pump install from the other company which was not something we expected. They came back within a couple days, jack hammered our basement, installed a sump pump and new drainage system, hid the drainage pipe beautifully and poured the concrete all within a day. We haven't had water come into our basement since. We are very, very happy with the work done and would recommend them.
Description of Work: Installed new drainage system in basement including sump pump.

During a recent rain storm, with over 6 inches of rain over two days, my basement flooded late at night while I was out of town and my wife was home with my young daughter. Tony, one of the owners was very sympathetic to my situation and nicely explained my options and agreed to come out the next day (again, he was on the phone with me late at night). The next day he came to my house promptly and early and quite aptly explained the problem which probably did not require his services. Beyond that he wrote down the explanation so my wife could get our handyman to do the work. His integrity and professionalism were top notch! If I end up needing contracting services there is no doubt I will return to him without hesitation. Thank you All-Aspect!!
