The Gutter Guys

Gutter Guys had a lower quote than another company, despite the fact that the other company did not quote larger gutters/downspouts like Gutter Guys recommended for my long roof line. I also preferred the aesthetics of the Gutter Guys cover system compared to the other company's. Both looked as if they would perform equally so I went with aesthetics and cost. The crew arrived on time and worked efficiently and neatly. They were very friendly and obviously concerned that I was satisfied with the work. They even suggested re-routing one downspout to prevent another run-off point (which causes wear) on my new roof. The gutters look great and the covers are working perfectly after about a month of summer rainstorms. The water flows over the edge of the covers and into the gutters as designed. The true test will come with the autumn leaves but so far I have seen no signs that these can clog, due to the very small openings for water flow. The lifetime guarantee removes my concerns here anyway. I only gave Gutter Guys a "B" in responsiveness because I had to call the salesperson repeatedly to follow-up on questions I had on the quote, due to slow response time. However, the responsiveness of the crew was excellent when I called them to return to fix a few minor things after the installation day (which was expected since I was not home on the second installation day). I have recommended Gutter Guys to my neighbors and would use them again (although hopefully, I never need to!)

The Gutter Guys worked pretty tightly. They cleaned up reasonably and were careful not to destroy our flower beds. They came when they said they would and worked hard all day.

It was wonderful. They showed up on time and they were very professional. These people were a class-A act.

They responded to our initial call promptly, gave us an estimate that was lower than we expected and completed the work well within schedule. We actually missed their phone call saying they were on their way to our house and missed meeting them but without any further input or oversight from us, they completed the work as ordered and their workmanship was excellent.

They came on time and did what they were supposed to do. Unfortunately, the sales person was separate from the guys who actually did the work and he did not inform me of the process properly. Other than that I think they did a pretty reasonable job. I'm not sure how good the work was yet because we haven't had any rain.

I called and they scheduled a time to come over for an estimate. The price seemed fair and the estimate was knowledgeable. The workers came out the next week as promised and they were pleasant and they identified the mason problem and fixed it. I believe they did a good job, I need a few rain storms to put it to the full test.

We were very happy with them. They installed copper gutters.

They were very good, very quick with the job and they were very professional. Their pricing I thought was a little high but they did accept my Angie's List coupon. They were also good about clean up and all in all I was very pleased.

They got the work done in a very timely manner. They kept to their contract. They did a great job. They adjusted to change easily. They cleaned up really well after themselves. They also charged what they estimated.

I happened to see one of their trucks in the area one day, and took down their number. I called for an estimate and they came out on a Wednesday. He ended up being late, but called me ahead of time to let me know he was stuck in some traffic. I had originally just wanted to repair several sections of gutter as we recently bought the home and the gutters were not hung properly in a few places and missing downspouts etc. After inspection Matt informed me that he would write up two quotes; One to just do what I was asking, and another to redo the entire house. The first quote was approximately $700. The quote for the entire replacement (and addition of two new sections on the garage) was $1300. That also included a side project that I asked for which was to install a small section of siding on our front porch that had been missing. They came out to do the job while I was at work. They called me in the early afternoon to let me know that they had finished with the gutters, but they didn't have any "J-channel" for the siding project. I gave them my combination to enter the house and told them where a box of siding materials was located. While I was on the phone, Josh offered to let my two dogs outside to run around for a little while! I said go ahead. When I got home the dogs were safe and sound back inside the basement, and I noticed that he even gave them a couple treats. (container was moved with lid still open) We also found that they had repaired a small inconspicuous area of siding in the back of the house near the eve (at no charge) The workmanship was great and my wife and I were very happy with the project. I would recommend them.

I called on Monday and the job was all completed by the end of the same week. It took about 2 days for all the work. The workers were very punctual and worked a very long work day. My house looks much better and the quality of their work was superb. The workers worked hard to listen to our concerns and were very persistent in making us happy. They even gave us 5% off for mentioning Angie's List. I would highly recommend them.

After finding The Gutter Guys on Angie's list, I called them and was immediately given an appointment for an estimate. Within a few days, on a Saturday morning, someone came, walked around and gave us a range of figures, allowing us to do what our budget would bear. The work was done four days later and completed in one day. The new gutters are bigger and appear to be of better quality than what we had before. The workmen asked how I wanted the additional downspouts placed, and whether I wanted the gutter waste (good compost, as it turns out!) distributed in the grass or swept up and removed. I chose the former. I liked being asked on both counts. The workers were pleasant, professional, and focused. I will be calling this company for regular gutter cleanings in the future.

This was our first experience with them. They did not tell us when they were coming and just showed up. They did apologize but it kind of throw us off. They were young and not quite as professional but they worked fast and I will used them again.

It went well. We didn't shop around, so I'm not sure how they would compared to another company on price. So, it was a lot of money, but we don't know how that price compares to other options in the market. The estimator seemed to know his business, and was pleasant to work with. When they found a lot of rotten wood, they stopped work until they could speak to us and gave us some time to get other estimates for the carpentry. In the end we had them do that to keep the job from getting slowed down. The foreman had ideas for putting in the downspouts in places that sounded very reasonable, and was concerned about how different things would look on the house. So he seemed to really think through how the system would look and work instead of just tacking it up. They worked quickly. Now our basement is much drier!

The original estimate was for replacement of the gutters, only. Once the crew got out there, they found too much damage to the fascia board and almost all of it had to be replaced. Since the old white wrap had to be removed to replace the underlying boards, I went ahead and had the entire thing re-done. I wanted different colored gutters and fascia wrap to match the replacement windows. They recommended adding an additional downspout due to the length of the gutter run. There were a couple of miscommunication issues. One having to do with the color and one having to do with the cost. The color issue was cleared up without any fuss. The cost of the job came as quite a shock because I had asked a couple of times during the discussion about the pricing and thought I was getting a total. If there are any changes to the order, I recommend getting/waiting for a written explanation.

Overall, the job went fine. They were quick to come out & give us a price. The salesman & workers were very nice & polite. After we signed the estimate, they scheduled the work within 2 weeks. They came out within that time period to install. When they found the issue with the fascia board, they had to reschedule the install. After not hearing from them for a week, it took several calls to the salesman & the office to find out when they were coming back out. The installation went smoothly - took a little longer than expected. Only real criticism was that I found a fair amount of debris around the house after they were finished - scraps of aluminum, screws, etc - some of this I attribute to the fact that they finished when it was dark out but with 2 small kids...it wasn't the best scenario.

The Gutter Guys came earlier than they had had said they would (not usually a bad thing!) but I had my water off for the winter. They therefore could not flush the downspouts. They also forgot to do the garage. They came back, after I called later that day and turned on the water. They finished the job, and also fixed the problem with the downspout (without additional charge). They also found a problem with the roof near one of my gutters. In the end, a job well done.

I am not at all happy that I called this company based on their reputation in Angie's List and then never heard from them again. That shows a lack of organization and professionalism that, frankly, is unacceptable.

Called for an estimate. Mark came out the next day. With the Angie's List coupon the price can under others I had received. Signed the contract that day. Was told I had 3 days to cancel. They told me they were running a 2 week lead time. I received a call on the third day asking if I wanted them installed the next day. They arrived around 3 pm and left at 4:30pm. The 2 guys were great and even made sure the gates were locked before leave. Very happy with my new gutters.

Their rep. showed up on schedule to provide an initial estimate. Very professional and thorough, he answered all of my questions and provided details on changing the style of gutter and the cost of sticking with the less common round downspout that I prefer. This was the lowest of 3 bids I received; more than $200 less than other bids. I was sold on their professionalism and appearance as much as the estimate. Once I called back to accept the estimate, I was able to schedule the work for one week later. The work crew showed up on time, performed the work quickly and thoroughly, and left the site immaculate. New gutter and downspout look great! The downspout is now attached with brackets on the back of the downspout rather than long straps across the front; looks much better! All in all, it appears to be a great job, but won't know for sure until it rains. I expect they would deal with any problems promptly based on their service so far.

We had some trouble that was not The Gutter Guys' fault. The day they came to install they discovered that the existing gutters had been tarred to the roof. Tearing them out would destroy the roof and this company is not equipped to do roof repair. The team manager explained the situation to my husband. We then had to have a roofer come out to remove the existing gutters and remove and replace the 1st 2-3 courses of shingles. Once the roofers were done, we called The Gutter Guys to re-schedule. All of this craziness happened within a week. But the end result is that the gutters look fabulous and the new topper actually adds some architectural detail to the house. We are waiting for a heavy rain to see how they perform.

The estimate visit was quick and simple, and the process explained clearly and without any hard-sell tactics (the salesman was quick to point out that even if we signed a work order we still had 3 days to cancel it if we changed our minds). As for the work, we got a call the day before, and the guys were there first thing in the morning the next day. They stripped out the old gutter, downspout, and brackets and put up the new one very quickly and simply and without any fuss. Cleanup was thorough and the workers were friendly and professional. A quick and remarkably fairly priced job. Now I just have to wait until it rains!

Met with Matt the estimator at the first property. He was on time and professional. We drove to all 3 properties, and after examining them gave me separate estimates for each property, as requested. The work was performed within 2 weeks as promised.

I have called them before and I was satisfied with their job, but this last time they were not that good. I had a problem with some bushes and I know it was their fault even though I couldn't figure out what had happened; all I know is that I had to replace the bush. I paid $10 less because I had an Angie's List coupon.

Matt, the salesman, showed up on time for the estimate and answered all of our questions. We came back several times with changes to what we wanted done and he was extremely patient and worked with us. The job was scheduled to take 2-3 days and ended up taking 5, partly due to rain and partly because of the difficulty of the job. The workmen were very professional and took definite pride in their work. The gutters look fantastic and we got a downpour 2 days after they were installed and ours was the only house on the block without overflowing gutters. Would absolutely recommend.
