The Gutter Guys

Let me preface this review by explaining that we did not end up hiring the Gutter Guys but ONLY because we were able to get an extremely low price to do our install through a friend. The price quoted by the salesman Matt was very competitive and we had actually signed a contract with them, however as I stated, we were able to call in a favor to get the job done within our out of control budget. I might add that Matt was very cooperative and helpful while we waited for the price from the other contractor and was very professional and pleasant when I had to call him to cancel the contract. He wished us luck with the install and told me to call him if we had any problems. My wife and I needed to replace the entire gutter system on our historic house as part of a total exterior renovation project. I contacted the Gutter Guys and was first impressed with the amount of time Dan the owner spent with me on the phone. He was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. The salesman Matt arrived on time and was very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. I explained to Matt from the start that we were pursuing pricing from other contractors and he completely understood and it did not lessen his professionalism or his desire to help us in the least. My wife and I both felt very comfortable with Matt and signed the contract pending receipt of pricing from other contractors. As I stated above, we ended up using a different contractor but I would not hesitate to call and use the Gutter Guys in the future for any new gutter work I might require. I was late meeting the representative and he was so polite and understanding. He explained all of my options, showed me problem areas with gutters on back of house and gave me different quotes to clean, replace the gutters on the back of the house or to replace all the gutters. He was willing to use my existing down spouts to save money since this was a rental property. I chose to have all of the gutters replaced and he gave me an estimated date for the work to be done which was about 2 weeks later. He told me they would do their best to get the work done as soon as possible but because of the extreme heat and rain, they were starting earlier in the day than usual so their guys weren't out in the heat of the afternoon. Since I didn't plan to be there when they came back he took my credit card information and told me they would charge me when the job was done. After about 10 days, I hadn't heard anything and wanted to make sure I told my tenant when they were coming, so I called back to see if they had scheduled a day to do the work. They felt so bad about making me wait they told me they would do the work the next day, on a Saturday! I appreciated the professionalism by everyone I spoke with on the phone and the representative who gave me the quote. I also liked the fact that they were concerned about their employees working in extreme heat and even though they had so much business, they didn't take advantage of their workers. All in all, they did a great job for a very reasonable price.

The Gutter Guys are a little expensive but they do the work. They are on time and very clean. They know what they are doing.

From the very first phone call to the present I have had a very positive experience with The Gutter Guys. Everyone I speak to is pleasant, helpful and very polite. They come on time and I never felt like they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. I would absolutely use them again and would recommend them highly.

Initially did not get a response from this company and submitted a poor review (see initial comments below). Upon receipt of review owner Dan personally contacted me and was sincerely sorry for the oversight. Subsequently he went above and beyond to call of duty to ensure that the slip up on their part was remedied to my satisfaction. They quickly got out to the house and completed the work and did not charge for the service. Great example of service recovery. Called over a week ago around July 12, 2012. Spoke with gal who took my name, number and what I needed done, which was one simple downspout put in. She said someone would go to the home and give me a call, nothing but crickets since. S

The guy that came out to give me an estimate was punctual, very knowledgeable and professional. The price for the work I wanted was reasonable, although I think that was because they really want to sell their very expensive guard system. The problem came when it was time to do the work. Three different representatives of the company (not the estimator) called me to make sure I paid them in advance. The said they wanted payment immediately after the work was completed even though I would be home to confirm the work was completed properly. Then, when they showed up, before starting any work, they had the office girl call me to get payment stating the work was done – when 10 minutes before I had called my son who advised they had not yet arrived.

I had a gutter that was damaged and had come lose from the top of my townhouse. An estimator came out, took a look at the problem, and provided me a couple of options for repair. He was punctual, polite, and I believe fair. They were easy to schedule with and 2 employees arrived punctually and quickly and efficiently replaced the damaged gutter. This company seems honest and fair and were a delight to work with.

I found them through Angie's List. They did a good job and came when they said that they were going to. I scheduled an estimate and they were here the next week. They did everything that they said they were going to do. The work was great.

Called the Gutter Guys and was treated very courteously. Was able to make an appointment for estimate that was convenient for me. The guy showed up a little early. LOVE IT when they do that. Called to confirm ahead as well. Arranged for the replacement of missing downspouts and he said it could be done for their minimum which is 150. They called a day ahead when they were coming and came as intended and did a beautiful job. Very very pleased. Would definitely call them again for future work as needed.

From the initial call to the day the job was finished, they were very professional and did an excellent job. A good value. I will definitely use again.

Phone communication and scheduling were handled professionally and efficiently. The workers were diligent and non-intrusive.All my dealings with this company were professional and positive.I would highly recommend their services.

- Scheduling was painful in that we had to keep calling them to get an estimate. - One fine day the job was done, and appears to be high quality work and materials. - However, they did not put on an extension to carry water away from the house, and the level of the bottom spout seemed too low to add one myseff. - I emailed them my concerns and they took care of it within 1-2 days, and they were very kind and professional about it. I was super impressed by this since things can be so difficult dealing with some vendors. SUMMARY: - scheduling was tough with regards to communication - the job seems high quality - they addressed my concerns quickly - overall very satisfied.

The whole process was extremely easy. We were contacted very quickly after making our inquiry and met with a representative to discuss the work and the cost. We were initially just going to repair the areas where it was clear that the fascia were rotting, but they gave us estimates for both a partial repair as well as the complete replacement and the price was really reasonable (particularly after the discount for being a member of Angie's List and another for committing to getting the work done early in the season). We scheduled the work for the following week -- and the workmen showed up early that day. They were efficient and respectful -- the entire job was completed by mid-to-late afternoon. I'd been putting off getting an estimate on this work, fearing that it was going to very pricey and be a BIG job. It turned out to be nearly painless!

I dont usually write reviews like this, but my experience with Gutter Guys was excellent. I needed 35 year old, failing gutters replaced, and had 3 companies out for bids, with different systems. One of them put on a very heavy handed high pressured sell, with the sales guy actually complaining he got no commission if I took his offer after he left (if you're researching, you'll know which company). My last bid was with Gutter Guys (Matt I believe). Professional presentation, without the high pressure....he didn't need it...it's a quality product and a quality company to deal with. At every turn of the project , these guys were friendly, responsive, and professional. They showed up on time, did excellent work, responded to my questions and calls, even when I was probably over communicating. As the project went on, they did such great work, I decided to have them install flashing over most of my exterior trim to help match colors better, and do away with trim painting. Oh yeah, the gutters themselves....they've been perfect for the last 9 months, with no water overrunning, and no clogs or debris stuck...and, I didn't have to clean them in fall or winter!! Truly a great experience working with Gutter Guys, and truly a great system they installed. I'd recommend to anyone as they perform, and are truly maintenance free.

They came out to evaluate what we needed, they were quick and the people who came to install the gutters cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again in the future.

Called 12/26/11 for estimate. Phone was answered by a cheerful voice and an appointment was scheduled for 1/2/12 at 10:00 a.m. which was at my convenience. The estimator called about 9:00 and said he was running early,which was great for us. He arrived at 9:30. He went right to work assessing the damage. He was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done. He gave us the estimate and we agreed to proceed with the work. He said it would be sheduled within 2 weeks. We received a call on Sunday night, 1/8/12, from the job supervisor who said they could do the work the next day if that was ok with us. We agreed. When we got home from work that night the work had been completed satisfactorily and everything cleaned up. The only sign they had been there was the repaired gutters.

Recently purchased a house with gutters that had not been cleaned in, at least, several years. The Gutter Guys sent an representitive (James) to inspect the gutters. A follow up appointment was scheduled for the cleaning several days later. The crew showed up on time, was very professional, got the job done, and left.

The Gutter Guys were very responsive. The individual who came out was very helpful in evaluating our gutters. They arranged to have someone come out and repair and replace our gutters at a time which did not require us to be at home. Overall it was a very smooth experience,

We had no problems and no issues with them and we are satisfied with their work. They had competitive prices and their work was wonderful.

He cam - he cleaned - he left and was finished.

The crew arrived on time. The machine to make the gutters came from Trenton, New Jersey, but they were on site by 8 AM. A crew of two young men spent about five hours removing the old gutters and installing the new ones. They worked carefully and were very pleasant and agreeable. We were very pleased with the work done, the attitude and workmanship of the installers, and with the whole experience. We have had heavy rain since the installation, and everything worked well. The clean-up was excellent.

They came out and did the job that they were supposed to do, and did additional work as well. So they went a little bit above and beyond. They are also great to deal with.

Asked to have gutters cleaned. Price very good - hired. Did a good job.

I was very pleased with the service and am looking forward to a winter without leaking gutters and hanging icicles.
