Reese guided us through the many possible flooring solutions and helped us to select appropriate choices based on our specific needs for the three rooms involved. He lent us the large-size samples to bring home to do color matching. He then came over to measure exactly, specify, and propose the specs and costs. Upon acceptance he ordered the materials and scheduled the work. The two specialists came on time and did excellent, professional work (10/31/19 - 11/1/19). We've given it 7 weeks before writing the review, during which we are enjoying the new flooring more and more, and are glad we did this long-needed upgrade. No problems arose during this whole process and Reese and his workmen patiently and expertly answered our many questions throughout.

The project took about a week. Everything went well, they were very professional and the craftsmanship was excellent.
Description of Work: Installed new hardwood floors on second floor (approx. 950 square feet) and new tile in foyer and powder room on 1st floor.

The start was problematic. I have no GPS system and the showroom was hard to find because it is on the and quot;wrongand quot; side of Rte. 40, and there are several turns to make before getting on to the continuation od Golden Ring Road. For complete description of work done, see above.
Description of Work: Company rep came and measured kitchen floor, including a powder room and lots of nooks to be covered a couple days after I called. He assessed and measured for quarter round and cove molding that they would replace. Another, more expensive company, did not mention those details. Work was done a few days later, because vinyl I wanted was in stock. Workmen moved heavy furniture, which also involved unhooking video equipment, and hooking it up again when they were finished. Work was completed in one day. When vinyl had to be pieced, the seam was smooth. Edges not covered by quarter round or molding were nicely caulked. Clean up before and after was thorough.

Two carpet technicians arrived on time. They proceeded to pull back the corners of the carpet in each of the two rooms I requested. After doing so, the next thing they did was to call their office. They were careful not to let me hear their conversation. I was then informed that re-stretching could not be done because the flooring beneath the carpet and pad was constructed of concrete panels and was uneven. This did not make sense to me because the original installer, who had gone out of business, was obviously able to install the carpet over the same floor. I was disappointed, but since they had decided that they would not do it, there was nothing I could do. The company had charged my credit card $250.00 prior to arriving for the appointment. I was advised that I would receive a partial credit, less a minimum amount for the "service call." Some companies do not charge for a service that they're unable to perform, so I thought this was a poor policy, but probably within their right to do so. However, I only received a $100.00 credit back to my card, and their credit memo stated the reason as "Only did one room." This was a complete lie, as they did not do any rooms and were only in my home for a few minutes. I would not even consider using this company for flooring sales or service in the future.
Description of Work: Sorry for the lateness of this review, but Angie's List did not exist when I had this experience. I wish it did! I contacted Abbey Carpet to inquire about re-stretching the carpets in 2 rooms in my condo. I was unable to request this service from the original installer of the carpet because they had gone out of business.

The hardwood floors were installed before the carpeting was installed. There was a lot of mess because the installer had no where outside to cut the wood and had to use my balcony. Also, I was not provided sufficient instruction for prepping for this job. I had uncovered electronics when they were installing the hardwood floors and there was a lot of dust flying around. Luckily, I was able to cover it all and there was no damage. There are a few unfinished places not in public view (like behind the refrigerator) where they did not finish off with the baseboard. The carpet installation went better; however, the installers barely spoke english and is was difficult to communicate with them. Also, this company is no longer at Yellow Brick Road. I also believe Sheeley and Fleming has separated from Abbey Carpet.

They did a great job, Yes I would use them again. Gregg does an exceptional job. I am happy I chose the floor tile that I did with the help of Reese.
Description of Work: I was looking for a long overdue new floor. I had a few estimates which were lower than Fleming and Sheeley Abbey Carpet. I remember hearing a commercial some time back for Abbey Carpet, so I picked up the phone and called. Reese the salesman was very helpful and very up front. Reese went over a few ideas with me on the phone and was not pushy at all, he said to stop in and have a look at their samples. I especially liked that he gave me somewhat of an estimate over the phone. I went the next day and he showed me the Armstrong Luxury Vinyl tile that almost looks like Ceramic tile and has a lifetime guarantee. The biggest problem I had was picking out the color, Armstrong has so many to chose from. Reese came out and took the measurements himself. I had carpet down before that was over old linoleum, I removed the carpet myself. Reese explained that I could either leave the old linoleum down or have it removed for an extra fee. I knew that removing it would be a tough job, I thought it would be better to put the new tile down without the linoleum underneath. I decided to have the linoleum removed, it was more expensive but I feel worth it. I also had old steps, that I knew that I would need to replace, so I had them remove the steps and install the new tile floor. I love the floor, Gregg the installer did a great job. Gregg removed the linoleum and prepared my floor for the new tile. He had to level the cement floor somewhat. Gregg was on time and very professional, I left him here while we were out of the house and had no worries.

OUTSTANDING. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT THE BARGAIN BIDDER, THEY WERE REASONABLE AND WITHIN MY BUDGET. I'VE ALWAYS SUBSCRIBED TO "THE CHEAP COMES OUT EXPENSIVE". I HAD A NEW PRODUCT, DURACERAMIC CERAMIC TILE LAID IN MY KITCHEN AND FOYER. AT THE STORE THE RESPONSE FOR A SALESMAN TO COME TO OUR HOUSE WAS WITHIN 4 DAYS. THE REP WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND INTERESTED ONLY IN WHAT I WANTED DONE. IT WAS A DIFFICULT 45 DEGREE ANGLE INSTALLATION IN A VERY ODD KITCHEN SHAPE. IT INVOLVED COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE OLD FLOOR AND SUBFLOORS. HE ATTENDED TO EVERY DETAIL, ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS, AND MADE SOUND RECOMMENDATIONS. THE INSTALLATION WAS SCHEDULED 8 DAYS OUT. NOW THE GREAT PART. THE INSTALLERS, BILL AND TRULL SHOWED UP ON TIME, HAD EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED AND KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED BUT STILL REVIEWED EVERYTHING WITH ME. BILL KEPT ME INFORMED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY AND WAS EAGER TO STOP AND ANSWER EVERY QUESTION I HAD. I MADE A LAST MINUTE CHANGE AND HE LAID THE WHOLE THING OUT AS A DRY FIT SO I WOULD BE SURE WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE. THEN HE LAID OUT A LARGE PORTION OF THE ORIGINAL DESIGN SO I WOULD BE SURE AND COULD COMPARE! THEY WENT TO WORK WITH A TENACITY AND WORK ETHIC THAT NO ONE WOULD EXPECT. CONTRACTORS SCARE THE BE-JESUS OUT OF ME, THAT'S WHY I JOINED ANGIE'S LIST, AND I REALLY RESEARCH AND INTERVIEW. I AM VERY PICKY, I WANT WHAT I WANT, AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I GOT. AT THE END OF THE JOB (A TWO DAY JOB) MY WIFE CAME IN AND WE GOT INTO A STRONG DISCUSSION (ARGUMENT) OVER THE PLACEMENT OF A DOOR STOP IN THE TILE. BILL AND TRULL SAW AN ARGUMENT PENDING AND OUT OF NOWHERE, BILL GOES BACK TO HIS TRUCK, GETS HIS TOOLS, COMES IN AND TAKES UP THE OLD PIECE OF TILE, RESETS A NEW ONE AND HANDS ME THE DOOR STOP. HE SMILES AND SAYS, "DO YOU WANT IT SOMEWHERE ELSE OR YOU WANT TO HOLD OFF AND THINK ABOUT IT. YOU DON'T NEED TO GET IN AN ARGUMENT, I'LL JUST MAKE IT RIGHT FOR YOU. CALL ME IF YOU NEED HELP TO REPLACE THE DOORSTOP IN A DIFFERENT TILE." EXTRA CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE.... ZERO!!! I WILL USE THIS CONTRACTOR AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. TOTAL JOB SATISFACTION FROM THE SALESROOM TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU''RE SEARCHING FOR A FLOORING CONTRACTOR, I'M A TOUGH CUSTOMER, MY WIFE IS WORSE AND I THINK I HAVE SOME NEW FRIENDS WITH FLEMMING AND SHEELEY.
Description of Work: NEW TILE IN THE KITCHEN, PANTRY AND FOYER. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE SUBFLOORS. THIS IS A NEW PRODUCT, DURACERAMIC CERAMIC TILE. IT CAN BE PUT DOWN GROUTLESS. NO GROUT LINES TO REPAIR OR CLEAN, BUT IT'S ALL SEALED. I'D NEVER EVEN HEARD OF IT BEFORE, SO I WAS A BIT NERVOUS.

It was good. We thought that they did a nice job and they seemed to stand by their work and the estimate that they gave us. They were on time as I recall, but I thought it was a bit pricey. We did not do a lot of price comparing, so that might not be fair to say.
Description of Work: They came to my home and took out part of the old carpet and installed new laminate flooring that covered the kitchen and a wide hallway that went throughout the entire house.

Very good experience overall; just nitpicking here. Sales associate was friendly, straightforward, professional, and knowledgeable. Installers were professional, friendly, hardworking, knowledgeable. Salesman estimated that it would take 1 day to complete; actually took two full days. Installers paid attention to some details, overlooked others. For example, they dug a trench in subfloor to allow for alarm wire to reach from the front door to the wall (originally just laying underneath carpet), but they did not fill in the nail holes near walls and steps with putty. There was some damage to fresh paint job, including a 6" x 6" patch ripped off the wall. This is a fairly easy repair with some spackle, but they should have repaired it themselves and it's unclear how it happened in the first place. Clean-up was hurried, I had to sweep and vacuum after they left. Some trim could have been cut more precisely, rather than just slapped together. But overall very good.
Description of Work: Install pre-laminated hardwood flooring on entire first floor of Canton townhouse (13 feet x 40 feet, living room, dining room, and kitchen including under appliances). Used existing subfloor (pine planks on joists). Included molding trim. Removed and disposed-of carpet and padding from living room, and existing molding. Removed 3 foot banister from living room.

LIVING ROOM FLOOR - INSTALLATION WAS BEAUTIFUL BUT THERE IS A LOCATION ABBEY CAME BACK TO LOOK AT AND AREA WAS BOUNCY, AND THEY NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH THE MANUFACTURES REP. THAT VISITED THE JOB TO GET PROPOSED SOLUTION. KITCHEN FLOOR - ORIGINAL FLOOR WAS CUT TIGHT TO THE CABINETS NOT REQUIRING MOLDING/TRIM, BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WITH THE NEW INSTALL AND ABBEY INDICATED IT'S NEVER INSTALLED WITHOUT TRIM. AS WELL ABBBEY REVIEWED THE SEAMS WHICH SHOWED DIRT RIGHT AWAY AND NEVER RESOLVED, SAID THE CLEANER WOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS.
Description of Work: LIVING ROOM RUG WAS REMOVED AND A HARDWOOD FLOOR WAS INSTALLED LESS THE TRIM. KITCHEN VINYL FLOOR WAS REMOVED AND A NEW VINYL FLOOR PUT DOWN IN IT'S PLACE.
