+ 0 moreIt was extremely difficult to schedule and talk to the company on the phone. I would call and no one would answer the phone. The voice mailbox was full. The only way to talk to the company was through emails. I was told that they can send a lot of workers and get the job done quickly. In reality, they had picked up other jobs and only two workers came. One of them was clearly new. Overall, the quality of the work was good. But taping was not done well, in quite a few areas, stains were left on my baseboard. Also stains were not even in the corner areas. Seems to me that those areas were not sanded down as well as the rest of the room. In the future, I am not sure if I will use the company again as communication was so hard.
Description of Work: The provider refinished hardwood floors in several rooms and stairs.

+ 0 moreOutstanding. I didn't think they would be able to fix certain areas. We had a bedroom with old floor and due to a remodel there was both old hardwood and subfloor where wood floors did not exist previously. They installed hardwood in areas where there was subfloor and matched it perfectly to old hardwood. Once it was refinished it looked perfect, like it was there the whole time. They did our living room, dining room, hall and two bedrooms for a fantastic price. We couldn't be happier!
Description of Work: Repaired old floors, replaced some wood, and added hardwood where it didn't exist. Refinished all in same stain.

Description of Work: Nabil, the man who did the work, cleaned three rugs. The job Nabil did went like clockwork--arrived on time, explained how he was going to proceed,cleaned the rugs and left. Must say that he displayed a great deal of professionalism and pride in his work. Have recommended him to others.

Description of Work: AZ Hardwood Floors refinished existing and added some new hardwood flooring for us. From the very first contact right through the completion of the job, they were highly responsive, very professional and completely conscientious in approaching the job. Alex provided our estimate; he came out the day we contacted him, scheduled the work as requested (it was a tight timeframe to completion) and handled the work directly. Our work included refinishing all of the hardwood floors in our 46 year old home, installing one room of new hardwood and finishing all the floors to match. The results were outstanding. In addition to the original work, Alex identified and advised us regarding some spots on the old floors which needed to be replaced and he completed the extra work as well all within the agreed time. The work was beautifully done; all tasks were completed neatly and professionally. Our home was left in beautiful condition. We could not have asked for a better or more professional job. We were completely satisfied with all aspects of the work and with working with AZ Hardwood Flooring Services and would highly recommend them!

+ 0 moreThis contractor arrived as scheduled, on time, took great care to protect everything from the dust created by the sanding, and applied the finish to the floors. They were extremely professional, provided a receipt at completion of the job, and did a follow-up. They completed the project in four days, since the work had to be staged by areas. They came back the morning after the finish was applied, and put all furniture back in place. We put our house on the market the following week, and sold it in two days. I have no doubt that the beauty of the floors had everything to do with the sale, since the floors are spectacular. Our daughter has decided to have her floors redone, and will be using AZ Hardwood Floor Service for her house. This is an outstanding company, and since i already recommended them to family, I would certainly recommend them to friends and neighbors. Thanks Alex for a great job.
Description of Work: AZ Hardwood Floors replaced a section of hardwood flooring all the way through the center of the house that had warped due to the underlayment cupping. They corrected the subflooring, installed new hardwood in that section, then refinished all of my hardwood floors, and made my house look absolutely wonderful. They replaced all of the quarter round trim, and even did the closets so that everything matched.

Description of Work: We used AZ Hardwood Flooring for a house that we recently purchased that had ugly blue rugs upstairs that we wanted removed and the hardwood to be refinished. I shopped around a lot before contracting Alex at AZ, and to be frank, we chose them based almost exclusively on price (they were the lowest for the full service by a few hundred dollars). | |The specific services we had done were: removing the old carpeting, sanding the floors and stairs, two coats of stair, one coat of finish, and quarter round for the baseboards. The floors were in somewhat rough shape, so there were some spots on the floor that needed a little extra attention. Alex informed us of these imperfections as he found them and kept us updated on what our options were. We chose just to go with a darker stain to mask the discoloration a bit, and not for an all out repair (we didn't have much money). Things still looked good in the end. The stain was even and professionally applied. The quarter round was laid down very well. All in All it was a very good job. | |I give them a B because it was a good job, but not great. They didn't really make an attempt to do some small fixes to the baseboards or in the floors that could have taken them over the top. Granted, they had a big job and a lot to do, so I don't hold it against them. But I kind of got what I paid for. | |Maybe be cautious with a more ambitious job such as pulling up rugs and refinishing. But for more straightforward work like straight refinishing I bet they would be the most cost effective and do a bang up job.

Description of Work: Alex gave me best quote in town. Job was performed extremely well. few minor issues were corrected immediately. Communication isn't his strong side (some emails gone un-unsvered)... but o well it was all worth it, this guy is all about getting the job done right.

+ 0 moreThe owner and his brother arrived 8:00 AM on a Saturday and immediately prepped the area. They applied painter's plastic to the area of the house that was not worked on to keep the dust away. They then sanded the area utilizing dust containment and then stained and sealed the floors. They were very thorough and very conscientious of the rest of the house. They finished their work at approximately 6:00 PM. They are to return the following day to move back a refrigerator to the area that was finished. The floors look great!!! Alex, I understand also works for another flooring company (highly rated company on Angie's List).
Description of Work: Refinished pine wood and parquet wood floors.
