Did not live up to expectations.

Background: We had to move states due to my infant daughter health condition. We booked these movers because our prior movers canceled last minute. I spoke to a sales rep **Greg** The quote I received was $1,500 more than a competing quote; but because Greg guaranteed earlier delivery date (and the predicament we were in). We went with them despite the hefty premium fee because they could deliver fast. Delivery: This company called me 1 time to say the delivery was going to be late. I had to call or contact them almost every day to get updates on where our items were. On the call, they then suggested I call them the next day to get an update instead of them saying they will call me later. In the end, we were sleeping on an inflatable mattress for over a week after we could not extend our hotel stay. They delivered almost 2 weeks AFTER the guaranteed timeframe from Greg. They knocked off $500 and **waived** an extra fee they would normally have charged (on top of the **will not exceed** quote that was already $1,500 more expensive) to deliver items in an individual truck instead of grouped with multiple families orders. They had to schedule last-minute helpers because the truck arrived a day earlier than when the manager said it would (so 13 days late???). One helper was carrying our FRAGILE boxes sideways and broke some glasses and sentimental mugs that were from Norway and are discontinued, so there is no replacement. When it came to paying the manager then tried to charge me an additional $500 over the quote and Bill of Lading (which I explicitly asked for previously to avoid this issue). He eventually backed off of that but his voice should disappointment like I did not just go along with it. tl;dr: EXPENSIVE, LATE, do not wait for them to call with an update, unprofessional.

Good crew Respectful Considerate

They worked very hard on our move. We had a 3300 square foot house and it was pretty full. It took them 4 days and 4-5 movers per day to get us out of there. They took only a couple of breaks per day which was amazing, all of them were moving fast and constantly and it wore me out just watching them! (I and the family have health conditions and could not do a lot.) Having said that, many of the boxes were mislabeled and it was hard to find things after the move. However, there was no way we could have packed that fast to get out of there. A word of caution: if you have collectibles that you wanted to sell or antiques that you are concerned about, these movers tape everything. Some collectibles have lost value as the antiques have because of the tape marks or tape removing finishes. So I would highly recommend you move those yourself. Also items like sewing machines and computers. I moved the computers but I let the movers move 2 of my sewing machines. They laid them flat in a box. If you are cringing, you can imagine my reaction. They are at the repair shop now. So delicate items, move yourself. And do not expect to find things in boxes labeled correctly. But they will all get there. And they will be fine if they can handle being taped. You can let them know not to tape things, so that was on me.

They did great work. My only issue was I wasn’t told about the travel fee until after I made my deposit.

Price and time they took was far above of the quote. Wasted time wrapping every single piece of furniture to move just ten minutes across town, then charged us by the hour. Took two days instead of one. I ve moved many times and have never had a company take so long.

After an extensive process, I used In & Out Movers (much to my dismay) to move approximately 10 minutes away from where I was living. Initially my experience was going well while working with Greg until I received a call from him on Thursday requesting that I move on Sunday instead of Saturday and he would send his best team. I agreed and we adjusted to accommodate the change. Then on Friday, I received another call to request that I reschedule my move back to Saturday. That was the beginning of the stress. On moving day, Jose and his team of two additional movers showed up late and to start, Jose tried to have me sign that they started working earlier than they had gotten there and they had not even parked the truck yet. Once they started moving, Jose spent entirely too much time trying to have conversations with me - I know where he is from, how he tries to beat the system on trucking hours on long distance trips by keeping multiple logs, how he fell on another job, how he is like Igal's son, how he likes video games and computers, etc.; he even showed me where he chipped the paint in my new building on a prior move and pointed it out as though he was proud. I found myself saying things to Jose like "well, I will let you get back to work" but he did not care. Jose also did two shoe changes and commenced to show me that he changed them (well, the first time). He also said (to me) "I'm not carrying that" about some of my furniture and spent plenty of time having what appeared to be very amusing conversations with his team. Jose also failed to realize that I could see him and his team outside hanging out when they should have been moving my furniture and boxes. Fast forwarding to the unload, I noticed that I had not seen any of the movers in quite some time and when we looked off of my balcony, we saw one of the movers sitting on the truck on his phone and saw Jose and the other mover chatting and laughing. At this point, we were way behind schedule and we were already hours over our expected time although I had everything ready for them when they arrived. I was tired of them spending more time chatting than working (at $150 per hour) so I called the office and spoke with Igal. When Jose came upstairs, he confronted me about calling his boss and tried to tell me that he gave his team a quick 10 minute break, which was completely untrue as I saw them having fun for at least 10 minutes when I called, not to mention the countless other breaks. Jose then tried to intimidate me when I told him yes I did and let him know that I saw them outside hanging out on the truck and I saw them doing this at the pickup as well. On top of all of this, the movers did not place the furniture where asked (although Jose asked when we got there), they did not put boxes in the rooms where they were labeled, blocked walkways, and did not take care with my furniture - they left a screw belonging to a glass end table on the floor that I luckily I spotted and put in my purse and they also put my glass coffee table back together incorrectly. It was a headache working with these guys; it was like working with children who try to do sneaky things when they feel no one is looking except that when I came out, they still would not do the right thing. They worked and walked slowly, they took way too many breaks and were just very unprofessional. I always use movers for my moves, whether interstate or locally, and this has been the most stressful and lazy team I have ever worked with so I will not hire them again and will never recommend them to anyone. I did speak to Igal with Jose hovering over me and trying to intimidate me and he gave me a 10% discount to try to band-aid the issues but at $150 an hour, this did not even take off an hour of the time they spent taking breaks and getting paid for them. I would never recommend them nor use them...

Very efficient! Their name says it all. They went straight to work and completed the task in the designated time.

On time, great crew and took care of all my belongings

They were absolutely magnificent! They moved everything..stored it...and eventually delivered it and set everything up in my new location. They were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Every person that I interacted with helped me, answered questions, and had a positive attitude. I felt like they were a supportive family during a difficult time.

Great Work Great Service

The three man crew acted very professionally and were very courteous. They took down an electric bed for me, carefully wrapped it, hauled it up a long steep flight of stairs at the new location, unwrapped it and set it up. They also moved several other heavy items for me. I was quite pleased with their service.

I will try to be very honest and not inflammatory. I m disappointed with this company. They came 1 hour and 20 minutes late. It was an issue as I was moving to a high rise and had reserved elevators. I called and asked what was going on and was told they were probably in traffic due to rain. I replied that they should call and let their customers know if they re going to be that late. They were very nonchalant about it. I was told I had a $185 per hour rate for 4 men. 3 men showed up and I was still charged $185. As soon as the men came in, the one who spoke English suggested I change my move date to the next day due to rain. I said no. I had to move that day. Later the one who spoke English asked me to give him a cash gratuity because his manager takes 20% of their tips and it s wrong. I gave them a cash tip and asked for the paper back where I had authorized a 10% tip. I had to ask for it. The worker told me that lots of packing materials were sent that weren t needed. Which I m sure I was charged for - for no reason. I told them up front I was done packing. Having said all of that, the men were hard workers and did a pretty good job. Only 2 items were broken. That s my honest feedback.

Thank you Home Advisor for helping me find this company. Their service was fantastic from beginning to end. Greg was so very helpful in getting things organized and double checked with me before and after the move. There are not enough complimentary adjectives to describe Alfredo, Jose and Angel. They were prompt, efficient, polite, careful and very organized. I am so happy I chose In and Out Movers.
