AG Floors

I LOVE my hardwood floors ... they turned out better than I expected. I went with the Monocoat stain and sealer based upon the company's recommendation. It is WONDERFUL! No scratches like you get with a poly finish. It's also easy to clean and maintain. There was one "oops" moment regarding a communication issue between the owner and the installers. During installation, a larger-than-usual gap was located between my floor and the walls. I was given two options: do some piecemeal baseboard work or have new larger baseboards installed. After hearing the costs of both options, I went with the new baseboards. I also asked for a reworked estimate so I could be sure of what I was getting and its cost. The reworked estimate never came and then, while discussing it with Rudy, I learned I had selected the most expensive option. I told Rudy to stop the baseboard work and to go with the lower-priced option. At that time, Rudy told me the work was already in progress. However, Rudy "made good" and worked with me to reduce this unexpected higher price. Yes. That was a snafu. But not one so bad I'd not recommend AG Floors. In fact, I highly recommend them. The only thing I'd recommend is for the client to be very clear about not having any additional work done until you have an updated estimate in hand.

I was very impressed by AG Floors. I bought a townhouse that had pee damaged hardwood floors and pee ruined carpet. AG Floors replaced the carpet downstairs for around $1900 and replaced pee saturated boards and restained the hardwood floor (price was about $2300) over a week. My townhouse is 1400 sq ft. What I really liked about them is that they were very professional, upfront about cost, and no "used car sales person vibes." I had interviewed three hardwood floor contractors and AG floor was not the cheapest bid - but I was looking for quality and I wanted to feel comfortable with the people I hired. They did real qualitiy work and were easy to work with and they got it done before my deadline. I highly recommend them.

Overall, the project was excellent. The floors look great. The staff was courteous, professional and capable. There were several nasty surprises revealed when the carpet was removed and the staff were very good at dealing with all these problems. The only downsides were some minor scheduling confusion and a bit of paint taken off a wall when the tape was removed. But, overall, they did a great job on the repairs, refinishing, carpet removal, and furniture moving.

They were great. They showed up on time for the estimate, and they were able to start the same day. They finished in 4 days, and then they came back some time later to install matching shoe molding AFTER I'd hired someone else to do that painting. There was also a person in AG Floors' office that kept me up to date every step of the way.

Job done professional and well. kept abreast with any new developments, and updated the contract when when we needed to level the subfloor. Honest, timely, and would recommend. I'd recommend making sure you're available during and after the job is done, as with any contractor job.

They did a good job, and were reasonably priced for the market. Very professional and skilled.

Went without hardly a hitch. The company provided a quick estimate and started the work on time. The two-man crew worked extremely hard to make sure we could finish in 3.5 days (we had 3 bedrooms and a hallway done). They were meticulously clean, vacuuming each day and covering everything with plastic to cut down on dust infiltration. Of course, there will always be dust left behind, but it was far less than we expected. They patiently worked with us on choosing a stain and it turned out that their guidance was perfect. Despite the hard work and long hours they were so cheerful and apart from the sanding noise we went about our daily routine without a problem. They showed up on time and stuck to the schedule. If there is one thing we'd suggest improving is the estimate process. We were told we would have to replace 18-20 boards due to damage from pet stains and scratches left by prior owners. When the workmen showed up they recommended 68 boards, rightly advising us that they could not guarantee that the stains would not reappear after staining and coating. It was a big cost difference, but far less than what we had been told by another firm who recommended replacing the whole floor. So, in that sense, limiting us to 68 boards turned out to save us money. That said, we would like to have had a firmer estimate for that upfront. We would strongly recommend using AG. In fact, our neighbors saw our floors last night and are likely to use them. They care about their customers. And hats off to Eveline!

Everything went very smoothly and just as expected. We picked AG Floors initially because they provided a slightly cheaper estimate than any other company we spoke it. They were very quick to respond to our initial inquiry and send out someone to provide an estimate. They were able to get started on the project just days after the initial site visit. The whole project took three days, and they worked very long hours to get everything done in time. They were very thorough, sanding under radiators, between stair spindles, etc. They were also careful to protect against dust coming into the rest of the house. We were really happy with everything and will definitely use them again in the future.

If you like your floors to chip and splinter in your feet and large wooden chunks to come up as you vacuum, than this is the company for you. If you find varying floor board heights interesting and wavy doorway floors give you a thrill; then this is definitely the company for you. If you like being told the morning of the job ? with floors stripped and movers scheduled to arrive in days ? that your color is not available and you much "pick another, you have 15 minutes" than BY ALL MEANS this is the company for you. If you like your stair raisers the color of your old floors that match the stair hand railing that they also refuse to touch ? and you are satisfied with just a coat of polyurethane as opposed to the standard three (not to mention a few steps not treated at all) ? then WITHOUT A DOUBT this is the company for you. On the other hand, if you believe that the thousands of dollars you spend to have floors redone should result in good-looking, long-lasting floors ? RUN don?t walk from this outfit.

I give them an A on everything. They were responsive, quick, left my place immaculate, and the overall cost was 1100 for about 350 sq. ft. or it was probably closer to 400.

The team did an excellent job. It took three full days and they always arrived when they said they would arrive and finished when they said they would finish. The floors look great. Great experience.

It went really went from the estimate until cleaning up. Of course we had to move out of our home. They had to move all of our furniture around and do the house in 2 phases. There are new wood floor in our home and old wood floors and they did not match. Also, some of the old wood had to be replaced. They started on Monday and on Friday am I came over to direct them how to move the furniture back in place. No furniture was damaged. The men worked until @ 7:30pm at night. The company was good in that they called me and let me know what the additional cost would be for replacing some of the wood planks. The price was very fair in the job. I got another estimate which just for the refinishing was 2X as much. Before we moved back in to the house I had a cleaning crew come in. Even though the men were very careful using plastic sheets, etc.. our house was filthy. The dust gets everywhere . I would advise others to do the same. I would definitely use AG Floors if i needed floor work in another home in this area.

AG did a fabulous job. Very professional. They called everyday to sY when they would be there the next day. Floors look beautiful very well done

These guys were awesome. It was a hugely inconvenient thing, and they did the job in two parts. When all was said and done, there was no evidence that they came, other than my beautiful new floor. They even used a commercial-grade polyurethane in order to help protect against future damage from our dogs. So far, so good. It was very pricey, but I really got what I paid for. I was impressed with the follow-up afterward. They called when everything was completed to make sure there were no imperfections in the work.

The owner of the company was nice, until we had a problem. They did not do a good job refinishing our hardwood floors - the stain was patchy and the floors were incredibly wavy. When we had him come to look at it, he said that we wanted "perfect prefinished floors" and our standards were too high. We knew they wouldn't be perfect, but they were almost striped from the shadows of the waves. And there were multiple spots on the floor that were an uneven stain job. They also didn't do well on the stairs and almost ruined our banister by gouging the railing to refinish it. Samuel insisted the waves could not be fixed, that it was difficult to refinish railings and that was the best that could be done, and said maybe they could do a better job on stain application. When I also showed him damage his crew did to our home - denting appliances, staining the carpet with drips, etc, he just shrugged. When we contacted a new company, they did an excellent job fixing the floors and railings. It could be done.

When I first met with the estimator (Yasmin Cartagena) I showed her the existing hardwood floors in the dining room and living rooms, which is very shiny & glossy. I told her I wanted the kitchen floors to look just as glossy - they don't! ( Yes, I know that the living/dining room floors are a factory product finished to a high gloss) They sanded and put down 2 coats of poly,( their standard procedure) but it's not very glossy. I was concerned after the first coat (Monday the 10th) as the surface looked dull and flat. I called and I was told not to worry. Today, I called after the work was completed, where I was told that they would be happy to add additional coats of poly, for an added fee. I shouldn't have to pay more money . . . I am not in the floor refinishing business, and I don't know if it will take 2 coats or 12 coats of poly to achieve a certain level of finish. I expect the estimator to know this information, and communicate it to me. If it requires more than they typically do, I need to be made aware of this!! If it requires more than the standard, it needs to be in the contract. Telling me afterwards is not professional. The contract says 2 costs - OK. So, they stuck to the contract, but it isn't what they told me they would do! Nor is it what I told the estimator I wanted. If you're not concerned about matching to existing floors in the home, then AG Floors is just fine. But if you want to match something existing in the home.....?? Maybe not. Under Professionalism, I also had to ding them due to the helper vacuuming up dust, I saw him open the front door and empty the vacuum hose contents onto my front porch! Really?? You're dumping the dirt on the front porch, where you're walking in and out?? When I asked him what he was doing, he just smile since he didn't understand my English. More poor communications!!

The estimator/owner was punctual, professional, and provided a good estimate. The flooring project was coordinated and scheduled by Evelyn who provided excellent customer service. The floor installation crew did a good job with removing the old floor and installed the new wood floor. During the old floor removal there was minor damage to the drywall which the crew repaired. A different crew, Kevin and Christian, a very good job with the sanding and clear coat application. Kevin and Christian were punctual, professional, and very courteous.

They were quick, professional and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves. They are some of the nicest floors in the home now. They did it all in one day-removed the prior lament flooring, prepped the concrete, laid the new hardwoods, and reattached some trim.

Went really well and I sure appreciated that they were able to do this without my having to remove all my furniture and things. They were so helpful in helping arrange/move my furniture and things within my small condo and got the job done within the estimated time they told me. One highly rated wood floor company on Angies list wanted me to move all my furniture out to storage or on the roof of our condo building. After 20 years of things filling up my condo, I sure appreciated having someone who could work around things here and do such a great job. They took about 3 days and each day they cleaned up the area before they left. My wife is still so happy we now have wooden floors. The workers were quick, friendly, and helpful and did a super job despite my having so much stuff. They knew their business and made my wife real happy with the lovely wooden floor. I'd hire them again most definitely as it was a really good experience and had no problems what-so-ever and they made it seem so easy.

good. they arrived on time, very professional. they kept the dust to a minimum. the only problem we had was trying to contact Angel who did the estimate. I finally called the office and they told me he was out of town. It was about a month after the estimate before the work could be done. so plan ahead.

We are very pleased with the professionaism of this company. When Yasmine was running late to give us an estimate she called and explained why. We were pleased the estimate, which was actually lower than we paid several years ago for a much smaller area. Everything went smoothly. Jose and his assistant were on time were pleasant to work with and most importantly they did a beautiful job.

It was great. The office was responsive and informative. I got good prep materials. The team showed up on time, finished on time, and it was on budget. They left the house in as clean a condition as possible. My floors look AWESOME!

AG Flooring was in the middle on pricing. We chose them because they were the most personable and responsive company of the four we asked to estimate refinishing our very worn floors. The refinishing crew showed up on time and kept the dust to a minimum. They gave us feedback as the work progressed. Their crew finished work on time and the floors look brand new. I highly recommend AG Floors.

Company is very easy to work with. Professional and on time. Did exactly what they said they would do. Gave good instructions for prep and after care of the floors. I am very happy with the work. Our floors had not been refinished for at least 10 years and they look brand new. They also moved the furniture to do the job and came back to move it back in place for a reasonable price which is a feature other companies did not offer. The only warning I have is that the polyurethane has a lot of fumes so even though they say you can walk on it after a couple of days I would say you need to air the house out at least one more day.

AG Floors promptly responded by visiting and providing an estimate. A substantial area was water stained, and it was questionable if it could be sanded or if the wood had to be replaced. I selected AG not only because they were the lowest bidder, but also because they responded promptly to my inquiries. The crew was professional, arrived on time, cleaned up (although dust is inevitable), the stain was sanded out without replacing any wood and I was billed the exact amount of the estimate. I would not hesitate to recommend AG Floors.
