The team did an outstanding job. The finished product was excellent. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. Even interacting with the office, specifically Monica, was a pleasure. I love Angies list because it helps identify who shines in their field. AG Floors proved to be worthy of all the accolades they have received. I add my name to that list.

They did a great job. It was excellent. The floors hadn't been refinished in 20 years. They got out lots of stains and deep scratches on the floors.

They were professional, they were on time, and they were quick to give me an estimate. They gave me the estimate right there on the spot, which I liked. He also gave me an estimate on my living room separately, so that we could break it down based on that. Everybody was very good.

Fabulous. They were clean neat and excellent. Efficient and left the house immaculate.

AG Floors did good work on the refinishing. The workers were on time every morning and were nice and professional. They moved the furniture out of the rooms and back when they were finished. They removed an old Pergo floor from the kitchen and installed hardwood which matched up pretty well with the existing floors. It did take a bit longer than they originally estimated, but it wasn't a big deal. I stayed in the basement during the refinishing, which I would not do again, the fumes from the polyurethane are really strong. Overall very happy with their work.

We quickly agreed on a date and time for an estimate via e-mail, my preference. Due to the very small square footage of the area to be refinished, the estimate was their minimum charge. I contacted them to schedule a date to begin work, however, when Sam arrived, he wasn't there to do work, he was there for an estimate. We laughed about it and he said he'd see that the work was rescheduled for the next day. Later in the day, I e-mailed to confirm and quickly received a response that they would be there between 8:00 and 8:30 the next morning. They arrived on time and began work immediately. They taped up plastic sheeting to minimize the sawdust spreading, using tape and sheeting we had on hand. They used our back deck for the entrance into and out of the kitchen area, which involved lugging a lot of heavy equipment up and down two flights of stairs. It was difficult to see what stages they were at during their progress due to the plastic sheeting, but their only need was an electrical outlet. Lots of noise, but that was to be expected. They were done with the plank replacement, sanding and first coat of poly by about 2PM. They informed us not to step on the area while the poly was drying. They arrived the next morning at the same time and applied the second coat of poly. They also removed all the plastic sheeting and tape. Before they left around 11AM, they informed us not to use the floor for 24 hours. They were quick, they were professional and the floor looks great!

I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for hardwood refinishing. The job they did was excellent. They worked extremely hard and were very knowledgeable. When looking for a company on Angie’s List I went by the companies with a large number of reviews with an A overall vs. the companies that had 10 reviews with an overall rating of an A. When a company can maintain an A rating with over 70+ jobs that says something about the companies work product. I am a very anal person and can find a mistake in just about every job, so far no mistakes 2 weeks later. Note: You must leave the house once the polyurethane is applied!

I think their estimate is good. I got another estimate that was higher. It makes sence to have them. They may have a showroom but I have not asked them or looked into that. They were very quick to respond and they were on top of things. I am convinced to have this provider based on the fact that he seemed to be knowledgeable, he explains this type of work very clearly, the price came in lower than the other estimate. They told me that they would be able to do it on a specific week that I want to do it.

They were top on the Angie's List. They were great. They definitely knew their wood floors. They were very patient. They know their product and they know what to do with wood floors. I felt so bad for that guy, when we picked the final color for the floor; we literally took two hours to make the decision. He did the best and he told us to take as much as time needed as I was spending lot of money on the wood floor. He would have lost the half day of work that couldn't have done because we couldn't make our mind. He gave us sample after sample after sample. He mixed stuff for us and it turned out to be great. He was the highest graded person there. I have already referred them.

The work done by the AG crew was high-quality. Starting with the estimate, they did good work overall. They came out to do an estimate quickly (within a day of my phone request), and they gave us estimates for various approaches. We chose what we wanted and they came out and started the work on the promised date. The work crew itself did the job well. They sanded, stained/refinished and polished the floors and they did it comprehensively and correctly. The cost was reasonable. Overall we are very happy with the quality of the work completed. The areas of concern we have concern the administration and communication from AG. The main issue was that the sales folks were different from the work crew who were also different from the billing people, and they weren't always talking with each other. Thus, we found ourselves having to explain agreements or promises made by one group to another group. This was a problem when the work crew showed up at the house at times different from what was agreed with the AG front office. That's a problem since we have to get our daughter to school in the morning and juggle our work schedules. Also, when it came time to pay we were given an invoice that was higher than the agreed (and signed) estimate. The office corrected this when we pointed it out, but it took a couple calls to different people to straighten it out. All in all, AG did good,quality work. I would use them again and I would recommend them to others. I would, however, suggest that people pay particular attention to confirming -- and reconfirming -- the logistic and administrative details of their work.

They had done some work for us in the past ad decided to continue with their work. They were just a wonderful company. In 2009 they installed parkay where there was rug. The condo we we live in has strict rules about people being out on time. There was a huge snowstorm within 12 hours. There was a dilemma because they were supposed to come back the next day to finish. The condo allowed them to stay and finish. They stayed until 11pm to finish the job. We gave the drinks and snacks because they were here all day. That shows you the kind of dedication they have. These were the installers! The management also seems nice. The last job was beautiful as well. We like them a lot.

The responsiveness was terrific-- Juan Prieto came out right away and measured the area and gave us the estimate. It included a large recreation/TV room and an office and hallway. The crew came as promised and did the job in one day! including removal of the old carpet and installation of the new flooring. It looks terrific. The crew came back the next business day to refinish the stairway (included in the price). They did a beautiful job in less than 7 hours, including sanding and refinishing to match the floors. We are highly satisfied (thrilled even) with the work.

They started working on Monday morning, Nov 22 with a crew of three to four people. They showed up on time and worked late several evenings to finish a certain area. One evening they continued working until 9pm but only after making sure this was ok with us. They moved all the furniture very carefully and taped off all doors, closets and cabinets to keep the dust to a minimum. The foors had not been refinished in over 15 years and were damaged in several places form moisture and heavy traffic. After the floors were done I couldn't tell the difference between the new floor they installed in the kitchen and the adjoining refinished floor in the dining room. They filled every crack and gap and installed new shoemolding perfectly. The quality of the completed work is superb. They finished the job on the morning of Thanksgiving, again after verifying with us first that this was fine with us. They left after they had moved all the furniture back in place, and cleaned everything up. I would use them again if needed and would recommend them to friends and family. As you can imagine though, I did not cook a Thanksgiving dinner!

Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience. I reviewed Angie's list and had 4 separate companies come to our new house to discuss the work and provide estimates. AG arrived early for the estimate, walked me through their process and left me with a very detailed estimate outlining the cost of each particular step. I then had the other three companies provide estimates. After narrowing it down to AG and another top rated company on Angie's list, I ultimately chose AG b/c they were the most honest. The other company hid a number of necessary items at the bottom of their estimate.... including the actual hardwood stain. I honestly felt like this was a "bait and switch" tactic given I made it clear we wanted a darker stain. Why would they not include what the customer asks for in the estimate and try to hid it below the estimate? AG was upfront and their estimate was exactly what I asked for with no hidden costs. How it SHOULD be done. After selecting the start date, the crew arrived 15 minutes early, did a test stain so my wife and I could make a final decision on which color we would like for the floors. Unfortunately, the three stain colors we selected were not what we had envisioned. After we gave one of the crew members an idea of what we were looking for (in between two of the colors we selected) he asked us to hold on. After returning from the truck, they did another test stain and it was PERFECT. Exactly what we wanted. The first day they demoed the kitchen, replaced and toothed in the new hardwood, sanded all the existing hardwood flooring and steps. When I returned home from work I was amazed at how great everything looked - even before they stained. The crew actually stayed late that first day to apply the water-based stain so that they could finish in two days, instead of three so that we could move into our new house ahead of schedule. When we came home the next day, the job was complete and they did an amazing job and we could not be happier. We did find one tiny spot (3 inchs) on a step that had some excess top coat. I called AG floors and they were more than happy to schedule a time that Saturday morning to come over and fix that little spot. I even got a follow-up call to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I could not have asked for better customer service AND results. We are planning on having them do another install for us sometime in the new year.

I was very pleased with this project. It was easy to schedule the estimate and the work and everyone was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the floors. I appreciated the prompt response and the fact that it only took 2 days to complete the work. The guys who came to repair the floor went the extra mile in moving a very heavy radiator so they could get to the entire floor. In addition, the workers respectful of the rest of the house -- they were sanding a wood floor, and it was great to not have dust anywhere else in the house. They cleaned the room thoroughly also. The price was very reasonable and they did a good job. I will call them again!

The floors that AG installed and refinished look beautiful and lived up to our hopes. The young crew was professional, prompt and knowledgeable, and the management was very responsive to our questions and concerns. The only frustrations along the way were a couple of substantial delays (e.g., about two weeks late in starting) blamed on supplier glitches, and we felt insufficiently informed about the major dust that would be left behind despite the crew's attempts to cover windows, doorways, etc. The crew was actually very meticulous in their work, including an impressive avoidance of staining the floor molding, and carefully cleaned up around the refinished floors themselves. Despite a careful reading of AG's informative materials, though, we were surprised by the thick dust from the refinishing work that remained all the way up the walls, including in the two-story foyer. Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience and would absolutely recommend AG.

Easy to set up estimate and schedule the work. Customer service was excellent. I refinished the bedroom floors in August and the dining room / hallway floors in September. Even though AG Floors did two separate projects about six weeks apart, they let me pay on a single ticket to avoid minimum service charges. This saved me about $250. Quality of work was excellent. They sanded, stained, and applied two clear coats. Floors look great. Note: They need a 240V outlet to run their drying equipment. Absolutely will recommend to friends & family.

A great experience! It was a fairly small job and fell under the minimum charge (which was much lower than many of the other floor refinishing places), so we added the quarter rounds in to bring it up to the minimum. The floors look great. Thanks!

This was the second time they have been out. We were so impressed the first time, we wanted them to come back. They are sooo good! I have been so happy with them and their work. They have an excellent attitude as well as workmanship.

Work was done in a timely and professional manner. Workers made an extra effort to cut all boards outside so as to reduce dust and noise.

I explained my dilemma. I am on the 3rd try of trying to have a 10 x 10 bedroom floor refinished properly. I was told that constituted a minimum job which was $550. I went on to explain about issues that were a problem with the other companies, and that I was looking for a company who could do the floor in the correct shade, without bubbles, hair and pebbles in the finish, etc. At that point I was asked where I lived, and then told "Oh, we don't do minimum jobs in Alexandria.". This company is in Rockville and they won't go to Alexandria for $550? If this is really the case, they need to put that in their Angies List description. My gut feeling is, they thought they would be held to too high a standard.

We chose to go with AG floors because they gave us a good price and a very detailed estimate. They also had excellent reviews on Angie's list. On the first day of work, the installation crew arrived on time. They pulled up the vinyl and carpet and laid the oak floors in one day. We were impressed by how well they cleaned up after themselves and how careful they were with our things. Even our neighbors commented that the crew did a fantastic job of cleaning up the wood bits outside. On the second day of work, the sanding and finishing crew arrived and alerted us to the fact that the rest of the work was going to take twice as long as we had been told. Why? Well, we were initially told that the work would take 3-4 days. However, the estimator had not taken into account the fact that if we did not make arrangements to empty the room of furniture, the second crew would have to split the work up. They would have to sand and stain the kitchen and half the living room and let that dry for a day. Then they would have to come back and put the polyurethane on it and let that dry for a day. Then they would move the furniture over to the finished section and take 2 more days to do the other half. We were aware that we would have to spend 2 days out of our home but not 4 days. With our dog and me being pregnant, it was very inconvenient. I called AG floors and expressed our disappointment at not being informed of the furniture issue. If we had been properly informed, we would have either moved our furniture out the front door into a pod or gone with prefinished wood floors. Our home is such that the furniture could not be moved upstairs or downstairs. AG floors was apologetic, stating that the estimator should have brought that to our attention. In spite of this inconvenience, we still had a good overall experience with this company. We stopped the work once they finished the first half and asked them if they could come back and finish the second half of the work 2 weeks later when we would be out of the country. They agreed. We returned from our trip to see our floors completely finished and looking beautiful, and our furniture replaced. The workmanship is excellent. Overall, it was a good experience, but I did not give an A rating because of the furniture issue and the inconvenience that it caused.
