Description of Work: They came in with a very quick turnaround and restored all of the hardwood floors in our house between closing and moving in. They also removed carpet that had been laid over linoleum to reveal the loveliest hard wood floors ever.

Description of Work: I called AG floors for an estimate to renew our Foyer and 12 stairs in our split level home. I could get an appointment for an estimate right away. Their representative showed up on time and she explained some things to me. I had questions about other options and about the wood that is going to be used and how the outcome would look. |Well, we only do it once and it should be what we expect. She told me that what they do is the best and kind of played my questions down and I never heared back from them. The estimate was double as high as from other competitors.

Description of Work: They sanded and finished a family room floor and a staircase of 14 steps. They did an excellent job and did not create a lot of dust. I will use them again to refinish the hardwood floors upstairs in the spring. Very professional!

Description of Work: Did an absolute amazing job at an equally amazing price and customer service level. On site staff were very helpful and took time to explain each step of the refinishing process all the way to the last day. Office staff was very helpful and also kept me well informed of all pertinent information. A+ job.

Description of Work: What I will always remember about AG Floors is that they were almost finished with installing hard wood flooring for the entire top floor of our condo - a job that had taken several days - when a huge snow storm was on its way with the weather people - government, schools, etc. all predicting that we'd be snowed in. Rather than leaving with the idea of returning to complete the job the following day, the installers remained to complete the job and we all sat around at dinner time eating what we feared might be perishables should the power go out. Other notable features of their service - keen attention to detail and quick response to oversights. We noticed, several days later that a small section of toe molding had not been installed and they were right over to complete the work.

Description of Work: First a caveat to my review - I am a contractor/remodeler. So, I work with subcontractors (plumbers, electricians, flooring contractors, etc. on a weekly basis. AG Floors has done three jobs that I was involved in - one job at my own house and two jobs at client's houses. The job AG did at my house was in 2011. They sanded and refinished approximately 1200 sf on the second floor of my house. I had Samuel out to give me an estimate on the job and he saved me from ruining my job. I had taken a sample of the hardwood floors to Lumber Liquidators to buy some flooring for some areas where I needed to fill in flooring. When Samuel saw the stack of boards laying in the room, he told me that I had gotten red oak and I needed white oak. It is very difficult to tell the difference when the flooring isn't finished. So, I was able to return the flooring and get the white oak, which turned out to be an exact match to the rest of the flooring in my 1960's house. AG came in a few weeks later and sanded and refinished the floors. They came out great and I was happy with the price which was about $1400. My only complaint with AG was that they were not great about filling imperfections such as gaps and nail holes. I previously used a hardwood flooring company in Missouri who did a flawless job at refinishing, so I know it is standard practice to fill all gaps and holes with wood putty before sanding. In the future, I will be more specific about specifying this step when I sign a contract for AG to do any work. The other two times i have used AG, they refinished the hardwood floors in places where I was doing a renovation project. I recommended them. The most recent job was at an apartment in DC. My business partner had hired another company to refinish the pine floors in the apartment and they turned out so bad that we had to have AG come in and redo the work. I was out of town when the work was done, so I did not get to specify the wood putty step and again that was a part of the job that could have been better. However, the owner of the apartment was very happy with the work AG did. On a final note, AG has always been good at showing up on time for estimates and to do the work.

I have high standards for workmanship and quality, and the professionalism that Samuel and his team exhibited, were excellent. My floors look great, both refinish and new and I am very satisfied with the work. They did the work in record time and will follow-up with anything I notice over the coming weeks. Samuel Angel and his team are the best flooring contractor I've worked with in the Washington area; I have had a few.
