Carpet & Vacuum Expo

We needed to replace the flooring in our kitchen and powder room. We weren't sure what kind of flooring we wanted, so visited Carpet and Vacuum Expo and talked with a salesman to find out what was available. We didn't want ceramic tile, and were uncomfortable putting hardwood or laminate in the kitchen because we didn't want to worry about water damage. The salesman was quite helpful and showed us a number of products, discussing strengths, weaknesses and costs of each. Once we selected the flooring (Dura Ceramic tile), we discussed installation. We saved some money by removing the old shoe molding and flooring ourselves. The installers showed up on time, draped the doorways to keep the dust contained, and did a wonderful job of installing our new flooring. It's been in place for about four months and we've had no problems. I would not hesitate to hire them again, or to recommend them to friends.

Mike was wonderful to work with, he is knowledgable and really knows his products. We had so much trouble with the flooring that was put in by another company 7 years ago, I was very nervous about this project. Mike recommendations on appropriate flooring for my older home were perfect and the floors were installed properly and most importantly looks TERRIFIC. I had to have a contractor come in to do some touch up dry wall work from where I had them remove a railing and to do some base board painting and touch up due to the differences floor height. Looks so good.

This shop was very friendly and knew exactly what we wanted. We had several other estimates and these guys beat them, explained the benefits of the carpet that was offered and didnt try to upsell us (when we said basement there's a nice shaw sample stand in the back that is exactly what we wanted). Installed on a Saturday which was great since we both work and would definitely use them when we finish the remainder of the basement or need to update our rental property.

The gentleman I spoke with couldn't have been nicer. He was informative, helpful and accommodating. My husband and I have put off having new carpet installed but I would definitely go to them first for estimates.

Carpet & Vacuum Expo are local, offered a large selection of products and the floors are holding up great. They were extremely clean, no dust in the house, and cleaned up after themselves even though it was minor clean up because all the cutting was done outside. There was no inside dirt. Their prices are reasonable. There was a little bit of a hiccup at the end of the job but they were extremely responsive to the issue.

The honesty and integrity of this owner will definitely stay with us and we will not hesitate to return should we have any needs in the future. What a breath of fresh air! We would definitely recommend this company to others. You can rest assured that if this company recommends any repairs that they are necessary!

They came out to my home within three hours to give us a thorough estimate. They gave us good advice on what types of carpet were most appropriate and helped us with the selection process. On installation day they were on time and worked hard. Carpet looks great. The Potomac office called during the installation to make sure everything was going as we expected. Carpet and Vacuum Expo could not have been easier to deal with. The installation was done in a careful and craftsmanlike manner.

The experience purchasing the carpet went great. Steve at Carpet and Vacuum Expo in their Potomac Store was a pleasure. He is knowledgeable, pleasant, and very helpful. His prices are comparable to or lower than others in the region. He carries a great selection and can make recommendations as to what will work best in the room. I will definitely work with him again when I need new carpet. They also providing installation over weekend which was very helpful. We did not need to take time off from work to have our carpet installed. The installers came on time and were very good. Our carpet was being installed in an area that was being renovated. Carpet & Vacuum Expo was very accomodating, allowing us to push back our scheduled date by a day or two since the contractors did not finish their work on time. The entire experience with Carpet & Vacuum Expo was great and we will definitely use them again when we replace our carpeting in the upstairs of our home.

Great Company for price, assistance with selections, installations and follow up. Out performed a competitor I had used for 18 years.

We used Carpet & Vacuum Expo store in Bethesda/Potomac--Cabin John Shopping Center--and could not have been more pleased with the service. Good advice on picking the right carpet and color, excellent measuring and installation. Regular contact and follow-up, and when doors were tight against new carpet, Steve, who was a pleasure to deal with, offered to split cost of fixing them. Would highly recommend and would certainly use for future carpeting needs.

The carpet looks and feels wonderful. We chose a high grade carpet and pad. The work was done very well, and the installers were professional and courteous. They were careful when they moved our furniture. Steve, the store manager, was always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely use this company again.

They first had to move a very heavy headboard & 2 chests that were linked together into one piece & did so very well. They then had to rip out the old carpet & installed the new. They were very neat. Everything was put back, although one dresser wasn't quite lined up with the other. I called them about this; they came back & moved it quickly. The carpet looks beautiful.

From our prior tenants, we had a bad pet urine odor in our carpets. Mike was very helpful in explaining options, made me feel at ease with the process. Scheduling and installation were a breeze, with quality work - our realtor was even impressed. We used them a second time to replace the downstairs carpet with a Kilz treatment. The stain block treatment was a little more than expected, but I do not think it is a service they would normally perform. And, I was happy to have them do the work, as we are not local to the area anymore. Overall, we're very happy and appreciate their responsiveness.

The purchase phase went well. Salesman explained the benefits of various carpet, listened to what we wanted, and made suggestions. Then provided samples to take home. We picked out a carpet and they sent a man to measure and provide an exact cost. A time was set for installation. Installation crew arrived on time, removed the old carpet and installed the new carpet quickly and efficiently. Very apparent that the crew had been doing this for many years. The room had just been painted and there was not a single mark on the walls. A job well done!

The sales staff at Carpet and Vacuum Expo were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Mike provided a lot of information about how well various types of wood would wear over time, and about different finishes C&V does not try to needlessly upsell you. I have used them in the past for carpeting and had a similarly positive experience. I can recommend them without reservation.

Great from start to finish. This is the second house that I've had Mike and Glen and their wonderful crew work their magic. Very satisfied with their work. Mike helped me consider options and make the choices. I especially appreciated his suggestion that I wait on doing the basement until I had lived in the new house for a while (I didn't take his suggestion), but when I insisted I wanted to move ahead he helped me come up with an option I am very pleased with. One small thing I so appreciate is how clean everything is when they finish their work. No sweeping up behind this crew. Very professional.

They were great in helping us decide which carpet to buy according to our needs and budget. They showed up promptly, installed the carpet, removed the old carpet and all trash. They were friendly and courteous, and there was not a sign of them to be found after they left. They moved all the furniture and replaced it. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We went to the branch in Potomac. The owner was very helpful but didn't pressure us. I had a particular brand of carpet in mind and he had some that was marked down and thus well within my budget. He also supplied a high-quality pad as part of the overall price per foot. The measurer came out that same day because they had a cancellation and we were able to fix a day for installation within a week or two. I had all my questions answered every time I visited or called, and everyone from owner to measurer to installer was very knowledgeable.

They did a very good job. We were highly pleased with the salesman, and with the professional installation. The salesman was very low pressure, and took his time with us. The installers were very nice and did a very good job.

This was a class operation from start to finish. The rooms affected in the work were the living room, dining room, three bedrooms and connecting halls, all on the first floor. This job was necessitated by the failed installation of a similar hardwood product that was improperly installed. Mike Zanville, owner of Carpet and Vacuum Expo, answered all our questions, got concurrence from the flooring manufacturer of the suitability of the flooring we wished to use to the specific application we had, dealt professionally with the previous flooring installer on matters related to our problems with that vendor's installation, and kept every promise he made to us about each step of the process. Mike sent a flooring professional to test our setting to determine the suitability of the application we desired. That person arrived on time and conducted tests in the time promised, completed the measurements of our area, and kept in touch to be certain we were satisfied. The installation crew arrived on time, was completely responsive to every request we made of them, finished the work a day earlier than projected, completely cleaned up all debris, and promised to return if we had any problems. Every member of the crew was courteous and respectful of our needs at all times. After the job was completed, we had one very minor adjustment request. The crew chief returned as promised and completed the correction in minimal time, with no disturbance to our living spaces. During the entire process, Mike Zanville was constantly in touch with us to be sure we were clear about all aspects of the task and to be sure we were happy with the progress. He was very responsive when we had any questions or concerns. All were satisfied promptly and completely. Carpet and Vacuum Expo's price was not the lowest of the three recommended vendors we sought bids from. However, the price was fair and the finished product worth every bit of the price.

I was highly impressed with how smoothly this enormous project unfolded. Everything was well planned and conformed to my unusual work schedule and the requirements of my rule happy condo community. Mike worked with me to secure the particular flooring selections I wanted, with patience and professionalism. The workmanship of the installers was top notch. As they worked, if I noticed something I wanted changed, they were never defensive, but immediately did what I had requested. My "punch list" at the end of the project was very minor and exceedingly short. An appointment was immediately set to address the items. In addition, Mike was very aware of the need to keep to the estimate we had agreed to and informed me, in detail, what charges would be for any changes I made afterward

The first time I called Carpet and Vacuum Expo, they replaced the carpet on my upstairs level. The estimator was so friendly and professional! He was on time, brought samples and I didn't have to leave my house to shop. They recently replaced the hardwood on my main level. It's absolutely gorgeous! I am thrilled with the price, quailty and expert workmanship. Mike has my business in the future and I will tell all my friends and neighbors too.

Dealt with Steve in the Potomac store. Very responsive and helpful. Will definitely use again.

Did a lot of research on Angie's list and Checkbook.org on carpet purchase. I noticed that Carpet and Vacuum Expo had all glowing reports for sales and service. Based on the reports we decided to visit the Potomac store. Steve Shaffer met us at the store and guided us through carpet selection. We were impressed with Steve's ability to answer our questions and his well thought out and honest advice. After our encounter with Steve, we hardly wanted to shop anywhere else but thought it prudent to get a few more estimates. The next store that we tried started by trying to sell us an unfamiliar brand that had obscure carpet specifications so that we had no way to compare its performance to the Shaw Sandy Hollow II carpet. We asked for an estimate using the Shaw carpet and the estimated price was the same as we got from Carpet & Vacuum Expo. We decided to get an in-home estimate from Carpet and Vacuum Expo. John Meyer came out to take the measurements and give us an estimate. John was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I had taken careful measurements myself and John ran through several scenarios depending on how many seams we wanted and how the carpet grain would run to give us an estimate with very little waste. According to my measurements, his estimates were very fair and honest. We signed the contract with 50% down and settled on a day for the installation. Steve called the day before installation to let us know that the installers would be out the next day anywhere from 9am to 10:15 am. On the day of installation it snowed and I was expecting a delay, if not a cancelation. Much to my surprise the install crew was on my doorstep at precisely 9am. That kind of punctuality is unheard of. The store sent Saeid and Antonio to do the install work. The crew was professional, well organized and very respectful of our home. Even though it snowed they were able to keep water and dirt outside and from affecting the quality of there work. Steve called us to check on the status of the work throughout the day. The crew was able to complete what I think is an amazing amount of work in one day, about 91/2 hours. The quality of the install was much more than we could have hoped for. It's near impossible to tell where the seams are. The next day Steve called to follow up on the install. I was a Customer Relationship Manager and Project Manager by trade and I can tell you that this company is outstanding for quality sales and installation service.

Carpet and Vacuum Expo were outstanding. My wife and I shopped around almost everywhere before coming back to Mike Zanville at Carpet and Vacuum Expo. We've had Home Depot and Lowes carpet before with terrible results. First, the quality of the carpet they sell is about as basic as you can get and does not hold up well--even the so-called premium carpets. Secondly, the installers they use could care less about doing professional work. They want to get in and out of a job. Carpet and Vacuum Expo was the exact opposite of our previous experiences with the big box stores. There were so many nice carpets to choose from that we had a hard time deciding (Mike let us take 12 or so samples home). We settled on Masland which we found to be one of the best quality carpets we've ever seen. In addition, Mike had some beautiful wool runners and helped us match up some colors and choices. Mike was extremely patient with us and never rushed the sale. His installers did an excellent job and Mike didn't take the full payment until he was sure we were 100% satisfied (he made a point of checking in with us many times to be sure we were happy). It's refreshing to work with someone that is a professional when making an important purchase. As a real estate agent, I have a list of preferred vendors I recommend to my clients and Carpet and Vacuum Expo is now at the top of my list.
