We had the names of at least four people we could contact at any time if we felt the need. Bill, the carpenter who did an amazing job and oversaw the site, Beth, who coordinated the different people from Kenwood's offices, Shannon, who was our designer but remained very hands on and was very responsive in answering any questions we had, and the co-owner, Steve, who dropped in periodically. We had one concern about the granite installation which held the sink. The granite was promptly removed, taken back to the fabricator, worked on, and re-installed. I am not easy to please and I will tell you that I expected a perfect job from Kenwood. BUT THEY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. We initially talked to at least four kitchen designers before we chose Kenwood. I had heard horror stories from all directions but this was absolutely painless and I wish we had done it sooner. I am understating it when I say I could not be more pleased. The transformation is amazing. My advice is to take your time and be sure of your decisions so that when the actual construction starts, YOU DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. Mentally live in the plans and do your best to visualize your new kitchen before you sign anything. Know what you want so that your decisions are final once you make them. Then let the Kenwood professionals do their magic. I cannot recommend these people more highly.
Description of Work: We renovated our kitchen and laundry room down to subfloor and bare walls. Everything was removed and discarded. We kept the stove/oven, dishwasher, and washer and dryer and had them re-installed. We replaced the floor with tile, created a new 10 foot island with a large round granite eating surface at one end, new cabinets, new sub-zero refrigerator, a granite counter at periphery of kitchen with a new sink and garbage disposal in it, a built in desk, a floor to ceiling pantry, an undercounter ice maker, an undercounter additional Jennair oven and a new laundry room tile floor with three floor to ceiling cabinets. It was completed in five weeks, and was painless. The workers were clean and neat (not that it wasn't messy) and they cleaned up as much as possible as they went along and at the end of the day. Shannon was our kitchen designer and created an amazingly imaginative and beautiful kitchen. She LISTENED to our wants and whims and effortlessly incorporated these into the final product. The workers with one exception were Kenwood employees, not subcontractors and did the highest calibre work. We saw Shannon in our kitchen at least once a week and talked on the phone during the week as well. The co-owner of Kenwood came to check things out at random numerous times. Everyone was neat, clean, polite, friendly and most accomodating.

I worked with Kenwood kitchens for about 6 months trying to get a kitchen design finalized. We were very upfront about doing a lot of the work ourselves, and maybe they just weren't interested, The inital designs they presented were way over our budget, and the designer didn't seem to know much about the latest products and trends. After spending $2,000 for a design fee, my project was sidelined because I was told that they were too busy working on projects that were ready to be ordered. I eventually came up with a layout that met our budget on my own, but the drawings I got back showed a lack of attention to detail. I had to spoon feed them the details to finally get it right. We were almost ready to order cabinets, but they made a mistake on the final layout and then got nasty when I asked them for a pricing breakdown on the remodeling work. I walked away from my $2,000 and found another firm to handle my remodel. Not terribly professional in my opinion, but they may be fine if you are willing to accept their designs without question and spend a fortune for a turnkey remodel.
Description of Work: Kitchen design. We also got quotes for cabinetry and remodeling services but did not use them.

THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY WAS VERY HELPFUL IN HELPING US DESIGN OUR DREAM KITCHEN. WE WERE SKEPTICAL IN KNOCKING OUT WALLS, BUT WE WERE CONVINCED OF THE OUTCOME. WE HAD WALLS KNOCKED OUT, CABINETS COMPLETELY REDESIGNED AND REPLACED. THE COMPLETE KITCHEN WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
Description of Work: WE REQUIRED OUR OLD KITCHEN TO BE TORN OUT AND A NEW KITCHEN - REDESIGNED AND INSTALLED.
