Budget Waterproofing was the third company I called to get a quote. Experience with the first two companies was very negative: they gave very high estimates and used high pressure sales tactics to force us into signing the contract. On the contrary, Mike Kenny, the sales rep for Budget, didn't push me to commit. He was also very flexible and willing to help us minimize the disruption - whereas the other two companies insisted that dry wall and base boards had to be cut (and of course they do not put anything back, one has to hire someone else to repair the walls), Mike agreed to leave the dry wall and base boards in place and instead go under the walls by breaking the cement floor along the interior perimeter. He also didn't insist on ruining the bathroom (the other two companies insisted that unless 100% of the perimeter was trenched, they would not give the warranty), which was a very big deal for us since it would have involved breaking the tile, removing the toilet and shower, etc. Budget's price for 110 linear feet of the drain system was 40% that of the other companies ($6K vs 15K+), and also came with a lifetime warranty. Scheduling of the work was seamless - we had to wait one week for the work to begin. The crew showed up at the expected time. The first day they didn't make much progress because the floor turned out to be too difficult for the regular jack hammer; so they left early and promised to return the next day with a jack hammer compressor. Due to the toughness of the floor, the job took 5 days instead of the originally anticipated 3-4, but they didn't ask for any additional money. The only minor issue was that the owners refused to allow the crew to work during the weekend to finish the job (so as not to pay them overtime), so we had to wait until Monday for them to finish. The crew was very professional and worked very hard. Thank you Dave, Minor, Larry and Jose. We got very lucky because less than 4 hours after they finished, we had a whole week of rainy weather, which gave us a perfect opportunity to test the system. It worked perfectly! A month later, we finally laid the floor and put the basement back in order. The company also sent me a thank you email with a reminder of how to get in touch in case of any problems and a promise to pay $75 for each referral. Overall, I would highly recommend them, especially when compared to how desperate I felt after having dealt with the first two companies. P.S. One word of advice: you cannot spend too much time covering your things! The dust from the floor is incredibly fine and will penetrate anything, so remove whatever you can and triple cover the rest.

Description of Work: Waterproofing of basement and installation of sump pumps.
Budget did a great job with their team coming out for 3 consecutive days to do the work. They all were very professional and included me in the steps of their progress. From start to to finish and even setting up and explaining financing options Budget was very informative and helpful. Great price for work done compared to other estimates I had. Very satisfied with results and the look of their finished job. They even removed my old concrete sink and installed a newer one I had purchased. Would highly recommend Steve and his team!!

They were incredibly responsive. They called and even asked if they could come earlier to give the estimate and did a great job following through. We were able to find another company that offered a better price and longer warranty terms so we elected to use them, but we were comfortable with Budget and would certainly call them again should we need similar services elsewhere.

Two workers showed up on time that very week and got straight to work on replacing the sump pump and refitting the sump pump line. Within a couple of hours, the sump pump was doing its thing and pumping out more water than we had expected to see. We were presented with a lifetime warranty certificate that guarantees the areas they waterproofed to be water free for the lifetime of the structure. The guarantee is transferrable from owner to owner, which made the buyers of the home happy.
Description of Work: We had water coming through the basement wall in the sump pump closet that needed to be remedied within 3-5 days, as we were closing on the sale of the house within the week. Within 2 days of placing the call with Budget Waterproofing and explaining our situation, we had a sales representative (Bill Bollinger, the owner of the company) at the site who gave us a fair estimate for the job that needed to be performed. We hired Budget Waterproofing on the spot, even though we had other waterproofing companies lined up to look at the job that very afternoon.
Things went wonderfully! The work was scheduled (with no real waiting) as soon as I was ready to move forward. A single gentleman showed up for the job (who seemed to be expecting others) and completed the all-day work himself. He was friendly, informative, skilled, communicative, and happy to answer questions I had about where water would be 'ejected', the pump, installing a 'battery operated' pump (should I choose this in the future), etc. He reviewed paperwork with me, and encouraged me to call with any future questions or concerns. Mona, in the office, was easy and helpful to work with as well. My experience was positive from start to finish. So far so good as regards any water in the corner of the basement ... None!
Description of Work: My basement required some sort of drainage and/or sump pump system installation for mitigating periodic flooding in the rear corner of the house during times of 'flash flood' warnings or other sustained/heavy rainfall. The rep, Eric Goden, arrived within a day of my request for a consultation. He confidently recommended trenching along a single rear wall of the basement (about 13' in length) with installation of a sump pump in the corner. He answered many questions, was patient, friendly and professional.

Another company told us that our water problem was likely due to termite treatment holes, but I wanted a second opinion. The estimator that came out was only interested in selling me a sump pump and drain system and was disinterested in evaluating the problem more thoroughly and diagnosing the root of the issue. Their estimate was the least expensive of three that I received, but I would not trust them to do work given this experience.

Promot, professional and offers a lifetime warranty. So far so good!
Bill, one of the owners, consulted with us on the best way to solve the problem we've been experiencing with water seepage in our basement after heavy rains. He was professional, knowledgable, and knew exactly what we needed to try as a first solution. He didn't try to high-pressure us into a full basement french drain and sump pump. Rather, he immediately wrote us an estimate for installation of an exterior surface drain solution. In the end, we decided to hire a concrete company to rebuild our front walk and install drainage during the process. If that solution fails to stop the water, we plan on contacting Budget Waterproofing for exploring an interior solution.
Description of Work: Designed a solution to the water infiltration problem that we've been experiencing.

UPDATED. Let me start by saying that when I bought by house, the basement would flood with every rain storm. Then, I got downspouts fixed up, and then it would be a little damp after each rain storm, maybe a puddle in the corner. After budget waterproofing came, my basement has been dry. So, satisfied customer, right? Well the only issue was a misunderstanding between the sales person and the team doing the job. The sales man was a nice guy, who promised everything would be great and he would get me a great price for the work. He said it would be "glass board" running 4 feet up the walls (he did explain that this was tiles made of plastic). He showed me pictures of what the finished work would like, he emphasized the great deal they offered on these premium quality products. We agreed to $5500 total quote. Then a few weeks later, when the team came to do the work, they said that these plastic glassboard panels would not work on my kind of foundation, that was "really just for concrete block walls. Instead, we should put up high quality "fiber-reinforced sheeting." Well, they did, and it works. Not the best aesthetic result, but will work with lifetime guarantee, they say. They suggested I could put up drywall and really finish it, and I think I will. There has not been a drop in the 6 months since I did the work. I complained about the appearance and the fact they it was nothing like what they had told me during the sales pitch. They said the materials they used were good and the price difference for using this reinforced plastic sheet material was only $250 less that putting up the panels. They also gave me a further $200 discount for the misunderstanding regarding glassboard. All I said, it looks like it will keep out the water, but will have to put up drywall over it to achieve a finished look.

I ended up not needing services, but I do appreciate all the help they gave me over the phone. I will definitely use this company in the future.
Description of Work: I called into their office about my sump pump because I had not heard it in a while and I was worried that my pump was no longer working. I talked to Leah and she was very helpful and told me what to look for as far as signs my pump wasn't working. Turns out, my pump was working fine. She was very helpful and courteous over the phone. I will definitely use this company if I do have a need in the future.
When called Budget Waterproofing, Mike Simonds came to assess the problem of seepage of water in the basement. He was very professional and explained what did happen and suggested the to change the sump pump and also extend the drain pipe about 6 feet from the wall. This will help to direct water away from the house and seepage may not occur. Also he showed us big holes near the main house entrance steps. He also promised to fill these holes. All this work was completed on time. I would recommend Budget Waterproofing for any issue related to likeage, seepage of water in the house. Excellent work performance.

Very well. Everything done in five days. My property was respected in that floor coverings were placed and everything was left clean. I am very pleased with the work done. The price was also very good. I highly recommend Budget waterproofing.
Description of Work: For my basement: the moldwasremoved, new pump placed, whole house dehumidifier placed and basement waterproofed. Lifetime transferable warranty given.
Bill did the estimate and he was great. I had confidence in his assessment and was happy with his price, and scheduled them for 10 days out. The work crew arrived on time ready to work. They were courteous, engaging and helpful (I needed a hand moving one or two things, I had cleared 98% of my stuff out of their way). They worked through 2 full days and finished up. That's when the annoying part began that put this rating from 5 stars to 4. They were sending someone to finish up all the details - reconnect the laundry tub, stuff like that. He couldn't come Friday so no laundry over the weekend (my washer drains to the laundry tub). When I inspected the work I found three things that needed attention - one was re-cementing a pipe that allows water in, and the other two were things that got damaged during the work - a broken bottom step on my basement steps and my basement door wouldn't close. In the ideal world, the crew would have told their supervisor that those two things were damaged and needed repairing. Instead, I had about 6 phone calls with the guy coming to fix stuff (I did appreciate his good communication) and had to argue slightly with him that the door and the step were perfectly fine before the work. He kept implying that maybe my door wouldn't shut because it was humid... There was a whole week where I couldn't do laundry or lock my basement, and that was annoying. In the end I got very good work for a fair price and I am quite happy. Because my basement was SO wet for decades, I probably won't believe it is ok to finish for a year or so. I feel confidence in their guarantee, and do feel that I could get their help if there is a problem down the road. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Waterproofing unfinished basement with poured concrete foundation - 20' x 40' - dug interior perimeter, installed drain tile, used existing sump pump well but installed new water jet backup sump. Also patch and reinforce one wall and re-cement one pipe.

I was very satisfied with the work that was done. I originally dealt with a sales rep that priced out the job and set up the appointment. The two gentlemen they sent out were absolutely fantastic to work with. I was a rather needy client and had them stop periodically and show me a few things when I had questions. They were very nice and knowledgeable. There was a little break down between the sales guy and the crew so a couple of small things didn't turn out the original way I discussed it with the sales rep: 1. The discharge pipe couldn't be routed under the floor and place completely in the cavity of the wall (The discharge pipe was supposed to leave the pit under the lid). 2. The sump pit was supposed to have a sealed lid. *Disclaimer- I discussed both of these issues with the crew before they completed everything and they couldn't accommodate my requests due to the set up my basement. I was just puzzled by this since the crew didn't know about the original request. These are by no means large issues and it wasn't worth it to me to bring it up to the owner since I was happy with the work. I was very happy with the work that was done and Bill, the owner, the EXTREMELY responsive with answering any concerns or questions that I had. I would HIGHLY recommend this company (I have already) to anyone.
Description of Work: They installed an new weeping tile system on the interior of my home with a new sump pit and pump included.
