Description of Work: I initially used Budget to install a "standard" waterproofing system in my basement in 1998. I thought it might be time to upgrade to a more modern closed system, where the floors are sealed to the wall. After consultation, Budget proposed a very nice plan with rigid wallboard and a sealed floor. Work began on the morning of 4/11 and within a few hours the installers began suspecting problems (clogged pipes) with the old system. They consulted with their office and proceeded to dig up the entire existing system and replace quite a bit of it (more than half). That turned my 3 day, not too messy, project into 5 days of major work. The good news: the extra work was all covered under my lifetime warrantee from 1998. It's all done now and looks very nice. The basement feels much drier, too. I would recommend Budget. They definitely stand behind their work, even after 18 years.

Description of Work: They send an estimator out who said we didn't need the entire basement done, he recommended just the back portion where it was obvious that lots of water was seeping in. The crew came out two weeks later, jackhammered a trench along the back wall, installed the drainage system and a new sump pump, and then filled it in and finished the concrete smooth. They even filled in an old sump well for us. I am thrilled with the results, we haven't had any water seepage that has gotten into the basement since. I was particularly pleased because the estimator was receptive to my suggestion and instead of just placing a drain in the stairwell, he put the drainage system all around the perimeter. |

 + -1 moreRon, the estimator for Budget, came by on a Saturday of a holiday weekend and spent an hour educating us on why we were having the problem. Then he wowed us with the estimate; not only would it cost 1/2 of the original estimate, but the damage to the basement would be one foot of drywall as opposed to the whole 40 feet we were anticipating. On the day of the project, Robby arrived on time and was out of the house in about two hours. The site was completely clean, not a bit of dust anywhere, and we could see exactly where the work had been done. Apparently we had had a crack from floor to ceiling. Yesterday we got a downpour that, before the work was done, would have soaked half the basement. We are BONE DRY. We are VERY HAPPY.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the basement of our 5-yr-old town home for which another company estimated twice the cost and the daunting prospect of digging a trench the full length of our finished basement. While the concept was probably correct, we were horrified of the cost of the initial project and the re-finishing of the basement. We remembered a previous visit from a Budget rep where, because he was totally honest, we were able to fix the problem ourselves. That honesty stuck in our minds and we gave Budget a call.

 + 2 moreI definitely recommend these folks. Having a basement waterproofed is probably never a grand experience, but this one was very good. The sales rep was very efficient and clear, explaining everything that would be done and how the work would proceed. He even brought pictures. Since my basement had leaked from every possible corner, the company elected to move everything (I even had the furnace disconnected and moved) and put drains basically everywhere. The workers were a bit flaky--they tended to show up late and occasionally disappeared--but they knew their business and did the work well with a minimum of mess. Result: I went from a water-filled basement to a dry storage and rec room space. Even during heavy storms no water comes into the basement, and I have a guarantee. My neighbors (I live in a duplex) also said that water stopped leaking into their basement after the job was done.
Description of Work: Waterproofed entire basement with French drains and PVC pipe, installed sump pump, removed old sink, and repaired concrete floor as necessary.
