Arundel Cooling Heating & Electrical has earned the top spot in my top spot of contractors!!

They determined it was a part that was under warranty, so ordered it and promptly came back to install.

We had the same guy come out last year to do some electrical work for us. Both times he finished all the work before the time we purchased was up. We had to walk around looking for something else for him to do because he was so efficient getting all the other stuff complete.

A team of workers installed appropriate wiring, the Mitsubishi system condenser and heating/cooling unit. The unit was expensive but worth it. Due to insufficient ducts in the area where the new system was placed, it had previously been always cold during cold months and since the ceilings were finished, it would have involved a lot of tearing up and re-doing my ceilings. Since the Mitsubishi unit was installed, my downstairs bedroom and bathroom are warm and comfortable. The technician did a demo of how to operate the new system. They all cleaned up and removed all debris when done. Great work.

Arundel Cooling & Heating Co. was very responsive in coming out to provide me a free estimate for several options: just the A/C unit itself, or a complete system A/C unit and furnace. I was very pleased with the proposal for a 24ACC436 Carrier Comfort Series Air Conditioner. The proposal included the evaporator coil, replacing the refrigerant lines, supply and return transitions, EZ trap with drain line, precast pad for the outdoor unit, and replace outdoor disconnect.I was pleased with the timeliness of the installation. The installers were courteous and did a very professional job. I AM VERY UNHAPPY about the fact that they installed a Carrier model 24ABC636 unit INSTEAD of the 24ACC436 unit quoted. They did not tell me they were going to do so. I did not see the change in the model number until the installers gave me my packet at the end of the installation. I brought the discrepancy to the attention of the installers. They called their office; the office called our home and told my husband that the ABC unit was a better model than the ACC unit. I called Carrier today because the unit has only been on a couple of times and I am concerned about the way it sounds. It also vibrates a bit. I asked Carrier to help me identify the difference between the models. Carrier Customer Service said ACC is their Performance Series, ABC is their Comfort Series or base model. I am more than a little frustrated. The proposal says, "24ACC436 - Puron - Carrier Comfort Series Air Conditioner." The model number and the description are in conflict with each other. I have an appointment scheduled for the county inspection and a call in to the office to talk to someone about the sound it is making and the vibration. Overall the job is okay. I am not happy about the discrepancy in the models.

I have a contract with them, so I have to use them until my contract expires. They could do it right and show up on time.

I had a negative experience with them. There was a part that needed to be ordered for the pan, and the person who was contacting me and kind of handling that interaction was very rude and not very helpful. The cost was reasonable for what they were doing and once it got done, it was great.

They did a great job. Very punctual and professional.

We originally got them from Angie’s List because our previous maintainer gave us an estimate for a new furnace that I thought was excessive. So, I started investigating others and Arundel did a much better job and they maintained the furnaces ever since and they have done a good job. We get reservations in advance.

Clearly misprogrammed thermostat causing huge energy bill with 45 days. Refused to come out without $99 re-charge claiming it was over 30 days. Don't use

Their great, I'm willing to pay for it and then some but their prices are a little higher than others. Their well worth it, I go for quality not price. Were very professional and they explained everything they did and gave me a lot of confidence that our unit was well taken care of.

The gentleman came and stayed a while talking to us about our options. He said he would contact us in a few days with a quote. About a week later we called them and left a message because they still had not called or emailed us with a quote. Weeks later we still have not heard from them.

I just had a bad experience with Arundel Cooling and Heating and will never be using their services again. My outside AC unit stopped working and I contacted them for a service call. Their tech came out, thought that the capacitor was bad on the outside unit, and replaced it. No estimate from the tech on what the charge would be as he was replacing the capacitor, but the same quality 35/5mfd capacitor can be bought on Amazon for about $15, so I didn’t really worry about it. I thought that it was a minor fix during the diagnosis process. I found out after the work was done and the tech was leaving that they were charging me $99 for the service call labor, and $265 in parts for a $15 capacitor. I call the main office to complain about this absurd markup on parts, and their response was “that’s what we charge to replace a condenser”, even though I also had to also pay the $99 for the service call labor. No defense for a markup on parts of almost 20 times their cost! But replacing the condenser did not fix the problem. It turns out that the fan motor was bad and they needed to order a new one and would come back out to the house to finish. I wait a week and call them back to see what the status is for fixing the motor. Turns out that they forgot to order it. They called the next day and said the motor was in, and came out the following Monday. I get charged $535 more to replace the fan motor (with the charge on my card being placed 2 months after the work was done). So I end up paying $899 to get the fan fixed on my outside unit (but they said that they would give me a break on the fan motor replacement). I was a long term customer, and in the past had them install 2 systems and do ongoing maintenance. They used to be fair. But I suspect that something must have happened to Arundel Cooling. I will never call them again.

They're punctual, they're knowledgeable, they're neat and they're always very thorough. This is the company that during the blizzard last year, when all hell was breaking loose everywhere, not only returned my call in the middle of a Saturday night, but they called me and followed up on Monday.

It went well. They were timely and helpful in explaining what went wrong. They did a quick workaround while a part was on order, and then replaced the faulty board.

They were good. I do not remember them being great.

Tech arrived. not friendly. he asked what error message did I have? I told him no error messages, just time for an inspection. He measured the temperature at the unit, then the air temp blowing out a vent. He said there was a big temp difference. He says he added 2 pounds of coolant to my system. Now my question is if my system had only half the required amount of coolant, how was it able to maintain a constant 72 degrees in my house even through the near triple digit heat in the past few weeks? My system as far as I know has never froze up which is a major indicator of a leak. I asked if the pressure was being held steady while he had his gauges attached. He confirmed pressure was steady and not dropping. So where is the leak? Why was 2 pounds of coolant needed? Did the tech physically check with some kind of leak detector to confirm a leak was present? NO! In addition, this was the first time ever a tech did not show me a scale of the coolant container before any was added and then afterwards. The tech assumed my coil inside was leaking. He charged me $99 to do an inspection which did not happen and supposedly added 2 pounds of coolant for a total of $189. That is some shady business practices. So either most of the reviews on this site are false or Arundel Cooling has a few bad apples that need to be pruned.

Well, the guy showed up, and he was nice and professional, but he was pretty much done working in 10 minutes for 2 hours of payment. Guess thats not his fault, guess thats my bad for not having more work for him to do. Essentially, he couldn't do work on the attic fan because he didn't have easy access to it, and he wouldn't go on the roof. He disconnected the faulty light and flipped a breaker (10 minutes) He said his company didn't touch any part of fireplaces due to company liability concerns. I get that, but he wouldn't have had to touch ductwork or anything relating to the gas line. I asked about the grounded gas line, and he said he could do it but that it would cost like 400 bucks i think, not covered in the job i paid for. I could be off on that number, its been a while since the service. He also said that while he "could" ground it, its not mandatory by code in Baltimore, only howard county does that. I told him the home inspector says the manufacturer says to ground it, and he said that grounding it isn't necessary. Hey, what do I know about codes and grounding gas wires. One professional says do it, another professional says its not worth it. He didn't do any HVAC stuff, because he wasn't an HVAC guy, so he couldn't do any of that work. And the deal didn't transfer over either. Basically, I paid for 2 hours of work, got 10 minutes done, and got told that he didn't do the other electrical work for x, y, and z reasons. Was the work performed worth 200+ bucks? No. Was it entirely his / his companies fault? No. Do I think his company has stupid rules that allow him to "skirt" around performing some tasks, you're **** right. I was really disappointed with this job. The guy was nice. He was professional. But i didn't get the value i paid for.

I first called them on Friday morning, and originally the were booked until the following Monday. However, they put me on hold and came back saying they could be out the next morning. The service tech was amazing ( Eddie). He called me first thing that morning, and found the issue which was a blown fuse. He stayed for a bit, and ensured the other parts were functioning correctly. Overall they were amazing!

I was really pleased with the gentleman. He really went above and beyond.

Tech showed up on time. Friendly service. Tech seemed knowledgeable.

I have had pleasant experiences with them in servicing the equipment they sold me and everything. They came out looked at the unit, inspected the unit, cleaned drain for the air conditioning coil unit, spray washed the coil and checked all the connections. They did not charge anything because that is a part of the maintenance package. At the time that I bought the unit no one else could match their prices. They are very amenable to making sure that their customers are taken care of. I can't say anything but good things about them. They are very punctual -- if they say they are going to be there at 8:00, at 8:00 they are right there. They are very professional.

One of the PVC pipes that drained condensation from our HVAC unit was blocked, causing water to pool on the floor. I made an appt with Arundel Cooling and Heating on Monday for the next day. The person on the phone informed me that there was a minimum $99 charge for diagnosis. The technician arrived, evaluated the problem and used compressed air to clear the PVC pipe.
