This company when to my mother's townhome for the work. She had an flyer from Homefix and wanted me to check them out (BBB and Angie's List websites). My mother was very happy with the service that she has received. The workers was on time, professional, and clean up very well after the roof was completed. I recently saw the roof on 2/25/2014. It really stands out amoung the other townhome. The roof looked very neat looking. As for the sky line inside of the Townhome, my mother mention that is looks so good and really brighten up the hall way in the townhome. I haven't when inside of the townhome to take an look as of yet. My mother is happy that she was able to obtain an easy payment plan with Homefix. Again she was happy with the results of the roof and sky line.

Company has called to "follow up" on my estimate more than 15 times in the last 6 weeks. I have asked every single time after the first 5 to be removed from their calling list.

The saleman was very prfessional and was on time for our meeting. the first quote from the saleman was around 6300.00 for a new roof of a townhouse. i found this to be way high. the saleman brought out the "if you sign now we can bring the price down to 5300". at first glance i thought that this was a good price, so i gave them a 1/3 for a down payment and was ready to get my new roof. after talking to my next door neighbor about his new roof i found that the company he used was about 800 dollar cheaper. i called homefix and cancelled my roof order. i had to fax in a letter stating i was cancelling my roof and waited for them to mail my check back which they did. three things i have learned since i began doing upgrade projects at my house is 1. get as many qutoes as possible 2. have the work done in the winter when the companies are not getting a tone of work 3. avoid companies that do the sign right now and we can do the work at this price.

Price included higher end/quality materials for the roof, a new skylight, and 18 inches of additional foam/spray insulation in our townhouse attic. The price was likely lower than 'normal' due to the end of the year, in which the seller expressed the company's desire to hit certain volume targets, which would trigger benefits to the company. So I am not sure what the cost would be at other times of the year, but even after getting the original quote, things came up-- such as needing to replace the original skylight due to the way the roofing would be installed... But they didn't changed the quoted price despite giving us a new skylight-- so that was nice. I believe they were very professional, from the original sales rep through the foreman on the work day. The rep showed us numerous quotes from different companies and even said that going with a more basic product could be cheaper... Although not done through them. We liked the fact that the 25 year warranty is transferrable to the new owner upon sale of the house, so that will be an attractive plus down the road. The financing rates through an associated company were high (I believe around 18%), so as long as you pay up front or have alternative financing available, then great. The team that came out worked quickly, with a team of about six taking about six hours. The foreman was also professional, walked me around afterward to explain what had taken place, and they did a great job of cleaning up all the scraps that had littered the ground during removal of the old roof. This was a replacement of the 23 year old (the original on the townhouse), and they also didn't hit us with any 'extra' charges. For example, they could have claimed that some of the sheets of wood under the old roof were moldy or showing wear... How would I know? But they didn't -- so the fact that after the initial quote we got a free/new skylight, and no additional charges, tells me the company is honest. They are a large dealer in the area, so the winter/year end (we signed up in December) may be the best time for a deal. As to the blown/foam insulation, that came on a separate day. They have a youtube video to show how it's done (which was nice), and ours went the same way-- a big hose/tube goes in through an upper window and then they spray throughout the attic, meaning little damage or tracks or debris throughout the house. Although it's probably standard, they leave markers to show the added depth in the attic. Overall I would recommend this company. The only reason I give a price of 'B' is because, well, it's thousands of dollars...

Job was eventually completed, but I had to argue with them extensively to fix the fact that they blew the insulation into the baffling vents that they installed, restricting much-needed airflow. They had a big attitude about fixing it, and claimed there was nothing wrong with the insulation being in the venting. Really they just seemed to be in one big rush the entire time, which explains the careless blowing of insulation into the baffling. Stop rushing, it always comes back to bite you.

They were very professional and on time. They replaced the rotted wood around the window as well as a new window. They did a very clean job and I am very satisfied. I thought the price was very fair. Upper management followed to make sure that I was satisfied. I would highly recommend them!

Fine, just above our budget at this time

Four years ago I contracted with HomeFix to replace my 5000 square feet of roofing. At the same time I contracted with a Velux certified skylight company in Sterling to replace two very substantial skylights that had clouded from age. Both jobs were completed and looked great. Fast forward four years and I have two leaks in the location of my skylights. I call the skylight company and they agree it?s the skylights that are leaking yet assume no responsibility. I call Homefix in desperation because more rain is headed our way asking if they could help and they actually send someone that day to see what they can do. Homefix assumed responsibility for fixing my leaks, confirmed the source of the leak and sent a crew to remove the roofing and fix the skylights. Not their problem to fix because the VELUX continuous adhesive skylight underlayment and waterproof membrane were not installed and the middle gutter that channels water away from the skylights was installed incorrectly. It did not matter to HomeFix. They redid the job I had assumed had been handled by the skylight installers without charge to me just in time for one of the heaviest rains of the season followed by our first snowstorm of the year. No sign of the leak. I can not thank HomeFix enough for coming to my rescue. My initial investment with them for my roof was the best decision I could have made. They stand behind their work and even the work of other companies! I will not be contracting my remaining skylights with the VELUX certified company but giving that job to Homefix so that I can sleep at night. By the way, I have the prettiest roof in my neighborhood.

A different gentleman came for the estimate meeting. I was told that it would take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. He was at out house for 90 minutes or so and he never even got to the part about giving us the estimate. He just blabbered on and on about how great their company is, despite the fact that I told him upfront all i wanted were the numbers - getting to the point was important to me. So he rescheduled. I wish I had not agreed to do this however. he came back and spend ANOTHER 90 minutes or more getting to the point. The original estimate was for $12,500, but if we signed today he was offering an amazing deal of $8,400. I felt these were both outrageous prices and I told him so. I called the company I usually have come to repair missing shingles and he quoted me over the phone for a similar product and quality for approximately $4500. The Salesman then called his boss and made us an offer of $6200. We signed the contract but I have no idea why. so thank goodness for Maryland Law, we rescinded the contract within 72 hours. They are a complete rip off. If you need your roof repaired or replaced go with Walter Brown Roofing.

I consider myself a savvy consumer especially when it pertains to purchasing high-ticket items; so when I noticed my house desperately needed new gutters, I made sure to do my due diligence and thoroughly research everything about gutters. I contacted a couple reputable companies and setup appointments to get an estimate for replacing all my gutters. The first company I saw was well known and specialized in clutter-free gutter covers. They offered a lifetime guarantee on materials, as well as product performance warranty. I was impressed until I received the estimate listing the total cost for all the amenities they recommended. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the second company I saw because they hire independent contractors, not affiliated with their company, to install the gutters. I did not want to be matched with some random third-party contractor even though their prices were half the amount as the first company, I was not confident in the quality of workmanship. You know what they say...?You get what you pay for.? I received a call from a Homefix representative asking, ?If I had any home repairs/remolding projects that needed to be done?? Coincidently, I remember reading about Homefix?s company in the Consumer Guide magazine as being one of the top Home improvement companies in the MD, DC and VA region, so I decided to setup an appointment to see what they had to offer. The day of my appointment, my sales representative called to confirm our appointment and to give me a window of when to expect his arrival. I really appreciated his curtsey call because I was able plan my day accordingly and not sit around all day waiting. I was very impressed with the Sales Rep., because he wasn?t pushy. Instead, he taught me about the history of the company, and how they ranked tops amongst their competitors. After the Sale Rep. accessed my gutters and calculated how much it would cost to replace everything, I knew I wouldn?t find a better deal anywhere else, so I signed the contract that day. The day of my installation appointment, the installers arrived on time, removed my old, installed the new gutters I purchased, and cleaned up the material and debris in a timely manner. I was very pleased with their work and how fantastic my new gutters looked on my house. I was very pleased with my overall experience with Homefix, and would highly recommend them to everyone needing quality home improvement.

Service was flawless, prompt, and professional. Installers were courteous, knowledgable, and professional. Entire install time was less than two hours and as professionals the environment was clean and clear when they departed. I could have asked for a smoother installation or overall process.

Dave Lancaster, the salesman, was professional and gave a spot on estimate of cost. Was responsive to our inquiries. The HomeFix crew arrived on time, were polite and professional. Work was completed in one day as promised. The foreman, Joon Kim was on site and did an excellent job overseeing the work. All debris was cleaned up when the job was completed. We are extremely satisfied with the work. We are definitely going to contact them when we replace our windows!

They did not show up for the scheduled estimate. They were apologetic about missing the appointment and stated some error with their software. When I called them they realized that they missed the appointment.

Homefix loaded the shingles on to the top of the roof a day before the project. I guessed this somehow would facilitate a smooth and efficient work on the project date. The team arrived before 9.30am on the project date 12/05 and started working right away.They did not knock on our door, however. But it was fine to me and my wife. They did wave and smile to us through the window as they climbed from the ladder to the roof. At around noon, I talked to Brian who was the foreman in charge and got to know about the progess for the first time. Though I judged people superficially, I was confident that he should be experienced enough to monitor the project to be finished in a professional standard. We also initially wondered if they would replace the very little part of roof just above the kitchen level. Cause it wasn't discussed with the vce president of marketing - Chris before. However, we did not raise this matter with Brian before we hang out before noon. It was just done automatically by the team. We were pretty satisfied with the work. Unavoidably, the project would create temporary nuisance to ot neighbors, e.g. trash falling to the areas on our neighbors. I noticed that the team would clean them up. There was no need to remind them on site. Brian then handed me documents near to the time of completion. He also sent pictures to my e-mail right away from his cell phone. I had records of the project from the morning to the end in the afternoon. So, without second thought, I chose excellent in the review form he gave me to finish. We've come across too many bad guys in electricity and plumbing services....etc. Those techinicians would take potential customers as idiot and find a way to fool around. Especially when there is only a woman at home with kids, they would try best to fool around in diagnosing the issue. We just had this bad experience very recently. But to homefix, their installation team was professional and did explain to us what they were doing while the project was being carried out. This is the first time we write comment on the web. And we would recommend this company to any potential roof replacement buyer.

They replaced a window with a box window which they built. My neighbor says it looks like it was in the original design. Contractor was punctual and professional. Workmanship was excellent. Everything was neat and clean when they left.

I never heard back from him. I met with another representative from this firm December 2nd, and he gave me an estimate for doing that attic ventilation, and insulation. Keith was very courteous and provided the numbers that I wanted, broken down into the various parts if I couldn't afford to do everything at once. I really want to know the costs of the different parts as I start to save up for the various fixes. I will contact the provider again when I am ready to start work on the attic.

Mr. Delaportas arrived on time. I told him I was beginning the process of getting information on whether my roof needed replacement, what would entail, and to get an estimate. While he did provide good information on the "GAF Roofing System", he did not even get up on the roof to inspect it to see its condition and the level of effort required. When I declined his "back of the envelope" proposal to replace the roof, HE was angry, like I had wasted HIS time.

Whole new was on time they all worked efficiently and were quick courteous. They kept us in the loop of all work being done.

Since the initial person knocked on my door, I have had repeated phone calls from the company asking me if they can come and give me an estimate. I told them each time that I was not interested as none of those things needed replacing anytime soon and could they please remove me from their list. Each time I was assured I would be removed and yet, I continue to get calls. Today I got a call and when I got a bit upset with the caller because I'm tired of being bugged by them, she abruptly hung up on me. Very unprofessional and annoying. If I have a need for this type of service in the future, I will never use them. Who needs to be harrassed? Update April 2014: Just received another call! When I said I had asked several times to be re moved from their list and someone had personally come to my door to apologize (which I appreciated), the guy on then phone first said "Well, I didn't know that." And then he said he'd "...get on his loudspeaker and let everyone know"! I don't appreciate the sarcasm, I'm on the Do Not Call list but apparently that means nothing.

Door installation took maybe an hour and a half. The two installers were thorough, friendly, and cleaned everything up before leaving. They made sure the keys and locks worked properly, ensured the door hung properly and even reinstalled the storm door that I did not purchase from HomeFix. We have not yet had a significant measurable rain yet to see if the gutters have any leaks, but HomeFix assured me that if ever I come across an issue, that they will promptly come out to address it. The gutter work was done while I was at work and did not need to be present. At no point in talking with HomeFix about what I was looking for did I feel I was being "upselled". I said what my expectations were, and was directed to catalog items that met my expectations and offered recommendations. The costs are a little higher than if I were to go to a hardware store or other location, but I felt confident that the products guarantees/warranties were worth the added cost in addition to the business location being close to my home so that if a problem arose, I would be working with someone in the area.

At our initial consultation, we sat down with, General Manager, Jimmie Bennett. Jimmie is very knowledgeable about his company, the products and the installation process. He explained the difference in materials and their prices. The price we were quoted was much less than we had anticipated. Installation was scheduled at our convenience. The work crew arrived on time and prepared the area for the demolition of the old roof. The crew started around 7:30 AM, our new roof and a thorough cleanup was completed before noon. The crew was very courteous and professional. As the crew finished, Jimmie arrived, as he said he would, to see if we were totally satisfied and to inspect the area. We advised Jimmie that we could not be happier with the job that was done. We would absolutely do business again with HOMEFIX CORPORATION. Jimmie also explained the importance of proper attic insulation. We are looking forward to having this installed next week. John and Paula Keedy

Great. Adam was spectacular to work with. Promptly returning calls, coordinating his work teams, and being honest and transparent. The work team arrived as scheduled and even ran back to the warehouse to get a shingle color that better matched the house. I would recommend and use again.

Entire job was done in under 7 hours. Everything done according to plan, including excellent cleanup afterwards (if I didn't look up at the new shingle color I would not have known there had been a full roof replacement job). The crew communicated with me as far as progress reports and told me of any snags (there weren't any significant ones) or problems with the underlying wood (again, none of significance). I worked initially with John Ferro, one of Homefix's marketing directors - I am now Homefix's designated "model home" in my area, so I got a fantastic deal for their premium quality roof (materials, labor, etc. all much better than standard "builder's grade"). I would definitely recommend this company. They did a thorough and totally professional job. Mr. Ferro did a nice job of explaining all of my options and reviewing how and why I should go with the better quality roof (I get a 25 year transferable warranty as well, nice!) in terms I could easily understand.

I was very happy with the work. Their crew arrived first thing in the morning and were done, cleaned up and gone by around 2:30 in the afternoon. My only issue with Homefix is that I thought their salesman was a bit "hard sell" and I felt like I was being pushed into accepting their proosal. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Salesperson, Kenny was very professional, offered many options and good prices. Installers were on time, very polite, quick and cleaned up so no mess was left over. Windows look great and we are very pleased.
