The installation was excellent. This was our second closet with Closet America. No long wait for the product to be delivered and installed.

Previous owner of the house blew out wall/smaller bed room next to master bedroom to use as a reading room. We purchased the house and wanted a "walk in" closet since it was next to master bed room plus wanted to update bedroom closet in two of the smaller bedrooms and 2 closet in the entry way of house plus linen closet and converting closet in master bedroom into a entertainment center for out TV and adding shelving for our books and DvD's. CA designer came out to talk with us just exactly what we wanted to do, she took the measurements of areas we wanted done. She was very detail oriented and could understand our thinking of how we wanted our walk in to be and additional closets. She came back for a second visit with our design plans in hand which were on computer and 3D which made easy to see how it would be. We made a few tweaks and added 2 doors and 2 hampers which we didn't think about and the designer had suggested it which really are working out great for us!!! Durning this visit we also picked out colors of closet and hardware. The crew came in a 4 weeks later and put in our closets. We had a big job so took a 1/2 of day which wasn't bad for puting together closet units + the drawers. For us this was money well spent on our house. It's nice opening up the closets by front door when guest come in and the closet from the inside looks updated,thought out everything is nice and neat! Very good detailing!!! We love our closets! it really gives a room a nice elegant finished look!

Well planned and executed closet organizer system.

The designer spent eight hours to prepared a very detailed offer with all the plans and calculations. At the end of the day, he offered an additional 10 percent if we signed immediately. We did so, given that we had three days to cancel the deal by Maryland law. Comparative offers from four other firms revealed that CLOSET AMERICA was about 20 percent more expensive. They only used Melamine boards, while others used real wood for the same price. Also, when comparing Melamine, it was clear that they saved on the material, as their Melamine used far more recycled materials and had larger wood grains resulting in less dense boards. Nevertheless, the finished products in their show room was of good quality. Finally, they claim to be of better quality because of special fixtures or devices (e.g. adjustable feet), but overall others provide the same or more for less money. We cancelled their contract within three business days, as it was clear they were more expensive and had cheaper materials. They were required by law to reimburse us in ten days. However, it took three weeks and a dispute at AMEX to get the credit. We would recommend to contact CLOSET AMERICA only after having received at least two other comparative offers (remember, they only offer Melamine products). If you sign the same day, make sure to cancel within three business day. Also, pay by credit card to file a dispute if they don't reimburse.
