I searched the Internet for businesses that would perform this service. Steve was the only one of the businesses I contacted that responded. I felt things started well. He contacted me and picked up my glider within 1 or 2 days of the first contact. Assured me that he could do the work and sent images detailing progress on a similar piece of furniture. Gave a estimated delivery date of Sept. 1, 2012. Sent paint samples third week of September. I selected a color and waited to be contacted. No word so I asked for an update the beginning of November. Steve responded that things were going well and that he would send an image (none came). Middle of February I changed the tone of my inquiries, basically asking for a delivery date. Steve would make a date and then not deliver on the agreed date. Most frustratingly he would not tell me ahead of time of the missed delivery and I would be back at square one, asking for a delivery date which he would not honor. One delivery date was June 4th. He informed me that he would not honor this date at 1:30 AM June the 4th- I missed this as I do not check my home e-mail at work. When he missed a delivery date June 4th, I asked for a delivery date ASAP. He gave me a delivery date of July 11th. Starting July 8th I was in contact with him two or three times a day on the phone and by e-mail, asking that he confirm a delivery which he never would until 5PM July 11th. My glider was in his posession for nearly one full calendar year. The glider is back and looks great. But I have never experienced this sort of abuse by a business. Would not recommend Steve to anyone.
Description of Work: I have a outdoor glider that needed total renovation- paint and rust removed.

Took a chair in to be repaired on the 1st of March and never received a call that the work was completed. Several phone calls to them led to status that the work had been completed and chair was ready to be picked up.(more than 2 months later) Went to the store on June 12th and was told that the work had been completed, but that the chair was in the workshop (a separate location). SIMPLY WALKED OUT WITH NO INTENTION TO RETURN FOR CHAIR.

Dinettes has an extensive showroom of tables, chairs and stools. Steve seems very knowledgable about all aspects of furniture manufacture. However... As noted above, delivery was WAY beyond projection. Worse, every time we contacted Steve about status, he came up with another excuse, indicated that completion was iminent (within a week or so), and that he would call us. However, he NEVER called us back. This cycle must have repeated itself 8 times - we would call about status, he'd have to check and call us back, never did, when we called back he had some excuse, promising delivery next week. Two weeks later we'd call back, he'd have to check, etc. This went on from July to November. Bottom line - you can get good quality furniture at a reasonable price. BUT, be prepared for a very extended delivery, way beyond any up-front projection, with no confidence in any updated estimate. And, be prepared to deal with the frustration of continued "put-offs" and lack of response, which I consider a total lack of professionalism.
Description of Work: On May 3, 2011, we ordered a new kitchen table (custom design and fabrication) and refinishing of 4 kitchen chairs. The estimated date for delivery of all items was July 1, 2011. We received our chairs on September 10, 2011. We received our new table on November 1, 2011. All items were as ordered and satisfactory as far as quality goes.

Intial contact and help with selecting out chairs/stools was good. However, our order too much longer that anticipated and follow up contact with the owner was horiible. For example, owner was hostile when questioned about when order would be ready and repeatedly told us that he would "call the next day" with order information and repeatedly did not.
Description of Work: We ordered custom made kitchen chairs and stools painted and finished to our specifications. The company had a good seletion and decent prices.
