Town & Country Asphalt

I contracted with Town & Country in January to do some asphalt repair and paid them a $1000 deposit to do the work. The work was scheduled and cancelled twice but never done. I have been trying to get my deposit returned, but to date one bad check is all i have received.

Scott and team were extremely professional throughout the entire process. Very focused on delivering a high quality service and a beautiful looking driveway!

Scott and Brandy Jones own this company and both were very responsive to calls and questions. At my request, Scott even drove to the house for another visit the week before the work to answer several questions I had. I had a very large driveway redone in the Challedon neighborhood in Mount Airy, including expansion to make it wider and to have it meet a newly built detached garage. Scott was onsite at the beginning and was working with the crew the entire time the asphalt work was done. His crew worked hard and everyone was very professional. The finished job is excellent and we are very happy with the work and the entire experience.

It was great. They showed up when planned, did the job quickly, and did cleanup. Communication around planning was good. Efficient and great quality work!

Scott worked with us every step of the way to make sure everything went perfectly on our project. We had an original 50 year old driveway that had many challenges including a steep grade and several top coats over the years, that created problems with water coming in the garage and bottoming out of large vehicles on a dip in the driveway. Scott listened to our needs to resolve these problems as well as expand the parking area. He provided an estimate for several price points. His bid was very competitive given the 3 other bids we got. Scott and his wife, Brandy (office), were responsive and made sure all was done to perfection. A joy to work with.

We had excellent communication with the company. All the steps were explained clearly, and the crew showed up on time. I only needed to call the company to confirm the day and time. Everything went smoothly. The driveway looks brand new and perfectly leveled.

Quoted same day. Scott arrived at the house and quoted me within hour of requesting. Best price out of 6 quotes I got. Some vendors didnt even brother to show up and quoted over the phone using pictures. Got it done in half a day.

Our driveway project was completed as planned and on time. The Town and Country crew was very skilled and worked well together resulting in a first class job!

Scott and his team did a great job. They were the only contractor who offered the complete service: culvert replacement, driveway widening and paving and rebuilt of decorative brick walls on either side of driveway. He delivered everything that was promised and we are very happy with his work.

The job was well done. The workers came on time on the day that Scott told me and worked efficiently. All edges were crisp and tapered in nicely, for example, to the steps next to the driveway.

Scott could not be a better person. He is professional, very knowledgeable. I called based on reviews here on Angies List. He responded quickly, came out the next day and gave me a very competitive estimate that I accepted after speaking with 4 other companies. Price was only 1 factor, his personality was clearly why I hired him. As for the work, they showed up at the time he said they would with his crew, all of them very well trained and experienced. They immediately got to work and worked steadily until the job was completed. They kept the work site clean and when they left the NEW driveway was nearly perfect. I highly recommend Town and Country Paving.

Very professional and efficient. The price was reasonable. In fact, this company came in with the lowest bid but with all the services quoted as compared with other companies that asked for couple thousand dollars more.

Town and Country provided me a quote for driveway asphalt and a concrete walkway August 1st 2018. They were the highest quote but due to reviews and perceived professionalism, we chose to go with them. The walkway was so small they said it was their minimum cost. They said they could get us in the next couple weeks. We spent most of August going back and forth and finally got them back the last week of August to do the Driveway, but they said the weather wasn't cooperating to do the walkway. He asked me to pay for just the concrete and he would come back the next week ( 3 days later) for the walkway. The walkway was finally accomplished in December. All communication was initiated by me. The owner came out the day before the crew and drew a crude paint line of what I wanted for the walkway. He didn't measure, wasn't exact, etc. He said the crew would come and use that as a guideline. They finally showed up, dug everything out and poured the concrete. I paid the total bill before I could really realize what had happened. I contacted him within a day and asked if he had seen the final product. He said that he had and it was just as I told him. But, it was uneven width, the line of the concrete was curvy. The team had gone exactly by his free hand with spray paint. It ranged from 23 inches to 40 inches in width in different areas. He tried to convince me that I was person who wanted it that way. I told him I hired him because he bragged how professional and exact they were, and he said his team would "clean it up" from the drawing he did. I asked if he usually did these things free hand and relied on the customer to do QC of his work. He said that he would fix it, grudgingly. He said it would have to wait until first in the spring. Again, no communication. After months of back and forth, they finally started to respond September of 2019 to fix the problem. He tried to blame me and say it was my fault, that it was my design choice. (same as last year) He offered to fix it if I paid for the supplies, so I finally gave in because I wanted it done. They took forever to send the estimate, continued to just have no communications except when I asked if they were ever coming. Finally in November they emailed on Friday that they would "get it done this weekend" and came out early Saturday morning to accomplish. Its not a great still but at least its not completely unprofessional. I do not consider him to be professional. He has horrible communication skills and talked down to me trying to make me think his poor workmanship was somehow my design. Not to mention, all the extra money was supposed to be becuase they would prepare the ground under the drive/walkway way better than everyone else, but within 6 months there were 2 huge visible sinkholes that he fixed "even though it was due to my poor drainage." Never again.
