Description of Work: Yearly contract service on AC and heating. |We also got estimates for a new heating and AC system but their proposal was not competitive. We selected another contractor and got new system in May-June 2014; thus we will not be using Presidential anymore.

Description of Work: they did a HVAC system check up as part of a deal. Also he pointed outthat my humidifier filter needed replacing, and that my humidifier needed to be hooked up to the hot water outlet rather than cold water and this would save me money. There was a nominal charge for this. I was very happy with the results!

Description of Work: I had Presidential Heating and Air Conditioning come to check on the heating on the house we just purchases and got a service contract for the year - the heat check was part of the service contract. The technician found that the humidifier unit had a broken housing and suggested that we should replace it for about $850. I got the name of the humidifier and check on the price - the complete unit was only $280 - called the company back and told them what we found and the technician was going to check with his manager, as of today we have not heard back from them. They did a good job on the heat check. We will not be using them to replace any heating or cooling equipment as they are way overpriced. We will not be renewing the service contract with them.

Description of Work: It went as expected. His office kept me informed as to his schedule and when he would arrive. Service person had been to house previously, so he was familiar with heating system. He checked its operation. Process took about 1/2 hour. Quality would have been A if he had set the humidifier to operate. No problem. I did it myself.

Description of Work: Install new A/C system. They showed up exactly when they said they would. Finished when they said they would. Cleaned up after themselves. Were very responsive when there was a small problem. Came first thing the next morning and fixed it. No complaints. I think they are not the cheapest but the excellent service is worth any small amount we paid extra.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for: in 2012 for Winter Heating Inspection. That turned out fine. They came out on time and they did what I expected them to do. They didn’t have to fix anything during the inspection it was just tune up.

Description of Work: This past winter (which was exceptionally cold), my heat pump did not seem to be as effective as it was the previous winter, and my energy bills were ridiculously high, so I purchased a Big Deal in early March to have the system evaluated. Presidential sent a tech, who was courteous, punctual, and professional, to look at the system. The tech found no major problems with the system, but recommended replacing a capacitor, which he did at a reasonable cost. |Last week, I discovered that my A/C was not working, so I called Presidential again. The tech who looked at the system discovered that all of the freon had leaked out and asked whether my energy bills had been uncommonly high in the winter, suggesting that the high energy bills may have been related to low/no freon. I don't know for sure whether the freon was already low in February and March when the heat was working poorly, but it seems likely, and that was exactly the kind of problem I had hoped to diagnose when I purchased the Big Deal. I am now replacing the system. Replacement may have been necessary anyway; I can't know that, but I know that it is necessary now, at (obviously) very significant cost.

Description of Work: Adjusted vents to redirect airflow to get a more even temperature. Gave and estimate for a whole house humidifier. Service was excellent-the provider was knowledgeable and clear in his explanations of what he could do. I would certainly use them again.

Description of Work: We took the Big Deal with Presidential to decide if we wanted to use them as our service provider for HVAC. It was a practical test, as our humidifier had been leaking. Their technician came out and inspected/serviced our HVAC, focusing on the humidifier. All was well for a couple of days, until the humidifier began leaking again. After we complained to Presidential, they immediately sent a tech out to the house, who determined that a mistake had been made in reassembling the humidifier, causing the leak. He fixed it and it's been fine ever since. We know that no one is perfect, and we're pleased at how quickly Presidential fixed their mistake. We've signed a service agreement with them, replacing our previous service provider.

Description of Work: Last evening my air central air conditioning began to blow warm air. I got online and arranged to have a call in the morning and early I was called and set up an appointment. The serviceman was there early and checked my air conditioner. He replaced a part and was done in less than an hour. I've used Presidential before for my furnace and was very happy. I forgot to write a review that time. I have the service contract and it's worth it.

Description of Work: Bought a new heat pump from company plus service for duct sealing. Was originally very impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of their sales rep. They came, installed the system, everything going well. When the partner company came for duct sealing, they said it could not be accomplished with the current configuration of system. To accomplish would require ~$1000 further to deinstall system and reconfigure. If had been better planned upfront, would have been no issue. Sealing company was willing to reduce their cost to partially accommodate; we waited for Presidential to get back to us with a plan, and waited, and waited. Finally we gave up on getting the service done and asked for a refund for which we waited and waited. A long time and several calls/emails later, we finally got it. To be fair we may have been one of the balls that got dropped during a retirement hand-off, so others may do much better now. For us, though, what had started as a very good experience certainly fizzled by the end.

Description of Work: There isn't much to say here. They looked at it, determined it needed to be replaced (that's fair, it was as old as the building) but they couldn't do so. I appreciate that they didn't blow wind up my skirt. They told me the truth and conceded they could do nothing about it. A contractor connected with my building replaced the units a month or so later.
