I do not recommend this company at all. We needed a light fixture replaced in the kitchen. Guy made a mess and had to come back because it was flickering. We also needed an outlet replaced so we could use a new coffee maker that was three pronged. First outlet did not work because we could not get the plug to go in either slot, so I had to miss more work for them to replace the outlet again but it was not much better. The electrician said I had to pay for the return trip but I did not think that was fair because the first outlet did not work. I called their office, the person who answered the phone got all huffy, and when she transferred me to the dispatcher he said he would ask the manager , so we will see. Electrician left all snooty and rude, said I had to get stronger in order to make the plug go in! To be fair, I should add that about a week later, the manager of Kolb called to apologize and to tell me that I would not be charged. His customer service was better. He also offered me a discount on my next call, which is a nice thing to do.

A Kolb electrician came to make an estimate of materials and cost for adding more outlets in our unfinished basement. He was personable and professional and quick. I was expecting to hear back but hadn't in a week so I called them. I was told the secretary was on vacation but that the estimate was done and was $865 for installing 6 outlets. I believe this was a competitive price. They were available and scheduled to come out 2 days later. On that day the electrician, Steve, arrived in a timely manner and completed work within 2-3 hours. Before doing so he walked through with me again, discussing ideal placement for the outlets. He was also very personable. He did fine work and I would hire him again when we finish the basement and create a bathroom (with electrical work) and possibly add more lights and fans throughout the rest of the house.

The technician was prompt and courteous. Completed the job quickly and asked if I had any other electrical issues while he was there. It was a small job and the fee was within the minimum.

The first week they sent a crew of 3 workers to jump start the project and complete all the rough in work within a week. They found some problems with the electrical lines and sent electricians back until the problem was identified an fixed. My house is 60 years old and had some non-permitted work done to it before I became the homeowner. So they had to correct those problems to get everything working. We only had one problem as to who was suppose to obtain the permit for the electrical work which was resolved fairly quickly. Overall they did an excellent job and I would use this company again.

I could not be happier with the service from Kolb. The estimator and the technicians (Tom & James) were courteous, professional, and went beyond the average to provide me with excellent work and service. The estimator worked with me to ensure I had the right information to purchase lighting, and to accommodate my schedule. The technicians performed installation and repair of exterior lighting and outlets, and interior repairs of switches, outlets and interior lighting installation. My house is more than 60 years old, and the repairs were sometimes more difficult due to the age of the wiring and the home. The technicians made sure that everything was clean and tidy before leaving. I very highly recommend Kolb.

Repair person was professional and quick to fix all my needed electrical.

The person I contacted on the telephone was very courteous and responsive. She was able to schedule an electrician to come out on the day that I wanted. The other 3 providers that I contacted could not schedule an appointment less than a week or ten days out. Johnnie arrived within the agreed upon time frame and had all the tools and equipment that he needed to do the job. He was very personable and professional and got he work done in what seemed to be a reasonable amount of time. Everything works just fine with a minimum for fuss and mess.

Check the fuse box and electrical power source.

The service was fine. The big deal was $195 for a whole house surge protection. They did what they said they were going to do, they did what they said they were going to do, and it seems to be working, so I have no complaints. My interactions with them were very professional. I showed them where the fuse box was, and they did the work, and let me know when they were done.

The electrician was on time, professional, and courteous. It didn't take him very long to install the surge protection device on my electrical panel. I was satisfied with the final work.

The person was polite and thorough. He discussed the work required and promised to get back with a firm estimate of time and cost later in the week. It is 3 weeks now and he has not responded. I sent an e-mail and did not get any response. I am surprised by such lack of professionalism particularly since this provider was rated highly on Angie's list. Update - After our initial review on AngiesList, we received a quote for the job as a result of which, we have updated our rating rating.

Everything was fine. They did a very good job. I got what I expected, and the price was pretty good too. The only thing is the man reeked of smoke which does not make him non-professional, but that kind of bothered me.

They were excellent. They did a very good job and I was very pleased with it.

I have used them before and somebody different always came out and it was a big company and most of the time they were okay but I wasn’t real comfortable with them and I think they always did good work. I really don’t know about the price because I don’t have anybody to compare it to. I would recommend them. He did a bunch of things for me and two of the things were excellent and then I had him do this one thing and I don’t know what he did but it didn’t work. I have motion sensor lights and I wanted him to take the motion sensor apart and just hang it on a switch and it never worked. Then he did a couple of other things in the same visit and they worked fine. The other time two guys came out because I wanted a panel for our generator and I was sure it was going to blow up but it didn’t and they did an outstanding job. One guy obviously knew a lot and he said he knew a lot so I thought it wouldn’t work but they really did a good job. I have always been pretty satisfied with their work except for the one guy. I think their price was reasonable, they weren’t expensive or cheap. Some of the stuff was good and some wasn’t. I did like them.

They did what I asked and finished on time.

James from Kolb Electric was outstanding. He was prompt, extremely courteous and professional. We will definitely use them again for our next project as a result of our experience with him.

After the technician left, the new fan sounded much louder than the previous one; it had a vibrating noise. I called the company and they said that noise didn't sound normal so they sent the same technician out to check it. He said the sound was normal but that this time he had put more insulation over the attic access lid to help deaden the sound. He charged me $96.00 for the second visit which I thought was excessive.

The repairman was very professional. He was prompt and came very quickly because I had company coming and I was very concerned. The work was done quickly and neatly.

There was a minor hiccup with the scheduling. But I don't count this against them, because they were able to deal with the hiccup and get a guy out. The work he did was very good. Even after realizing that the original quote might not have taken the entire scope of the work into account, they stuck with the original quote and got the work done with way fewer cuts to my drywall than I would have thought would be necessary. Basically, I needed to run a dedicated fuse from the breaker box to the opposite side of the basement where I have a sump pit. We thought we'd found a good path behind the the walls, but the job got more complicated after we realized that part of the path was not as direct as we'd thought during the estimate. I'm very happy with the work, and will use them again, probably for some track lighting that the wife wants to add.

They sent out a technician to look at the hot tub and said it was the hot tub, not the breaker box. They did not fix anything and charged me. I contacted them and they sent out another technician and they installed a new circuit breaker. This time they only charged me for parts, not labor. Working with the technician from Kolb and the hot tub service company, we got the problem fixed. The hot tub company ended up replacing the motor.

KOLB advertised $89 for the first hour of work and $47 for each additional half hour ($136). On arrival, KOLB informed us that it would be $89 for the first half hour and $45 for each additional half hour ($179). The entire job was to reverse the polarity on one wall light switch. The service person took an hour and a half to do this. We could not do the work ourselves because the city required a receipt from a licensed electrician. We would not use this company again due to (1) the switch between what was advertised and what was charged and (2) the inefficiency with which the work was done.

Electrician came on time and completed installation as requested.

I called Kolb for an estimate to install an electrical box and ceiling fan in a second floor bedroom. The price quoted was $385. I then called Benz Electrical and got the work done for $269.

They showed up on time and did a great job. They answered my questions and left everything cleaned up. Quality work!
