I called and set up a time for my vehicle to be looked at and any needed work completed.  They called after the vehicle had been checked and the recommended work and an estimate were discussed.   I had a feeling that brake work was needed by the way the car was handling.  The other items needed were expected with the mileage I had reached and the length of time since they were last changed.  We have taken our vehicles to J&R Auto for several years.  We have found that they let you know the work that is needed soon and  work that can wait for a later time. They check with us before starting work and stand behind their work.  Work is completed in a timely fashion and they are a pleasure to do business with.

Radiator repair- the radiator was damaged in an accident a couple of years ago. He replaced the rad. with a remanufactured item (after discussing the difference in quality and prices between that and new).

They provide excellent service. They do maintenance and take care of anything including technical problems. What stands out the most is his knowledge of automobiles and his ability to diagnose problems and correct them very well. He explains things and you know what is being done on your care. He gives you the options if there are choices to be made when putting in parts. He is very good. He keeps a very tidy shop. He is very reliable. He gives you an estimated time and completes the work within that time. He is very competitively priced. He really is one of the best.

J & R was recommended to me by friends that have used them before. Truth be told, the service took longer than I was expecting. This was not the mechanic's fault. The bumper needed to come off, the hitch needed to be altered to fit, and wires needed to be spliced into the existing turn signaling system. All-in-all, I was there for over four hours. They only charged me for three because that was the initial estimate. I'm not sure if that's their standard policy or not, but it was a welcome ending to a long, long morning of reading National Geographics in the sitting room. The mechanic explained everything to me and kept me informed as the service unfolded. I would definitely use them again.
