Description of Work: Carl and his team gave superior service at a reasonable price. They communicated well and in a timely fashion. They arrived on time and actually finished the jobs early. We had a pine floor refinished and LVT put down in our kitchen and they both look great.

Description of Work: Replaced carpeting throughout house and replaced with wood. Very pleased with the results. They are a family run business and a pleasure to work with. The workmen were great and good people too.

Description of Work: Sanded and finished wooden floors. Very professional, punctual and reasonably priced.

Description of Work: Against popular opinion we had to remove old hard wood in two bedrooms because it was truly too worn to repair and the subfloor needed additional support as well. They removed the wood, rebuilt the sub floor and laid carpet. It looks great And more importantly the floors feel much more secure.

Description of Work: Hawkins put down hardwood floor (that we had pre-purchased) in our kitchen. I was very impressed with the guy who gave our estimate, but he was not available for the job. The guys who did do the job were courteous, but unfortunately a 1 day job turned into a 2 day job. Apparently their nail gun broke at around 1:00 on the first day, and instead of finding a replacement or fixing it, I was told they would be back the next day. They left the kitchen less than half finished, with loose pieces of wood just laying in the middle of the floor. (Which was quite difficult with 2 toddlers running around.) I did call to complain, and was given a $100 off, but I would have much rather paid the $100 and had the job done when they said it would be. In addition, the workmanship was not the best. They put the wood behind the refrigerator in too tightly, so it actually forced the cabinet from the wall and split the caulk line. (Easy fix, but annoying.) And, the floor boards are not all together close enough, so there is space and room for gunk to get in. IN FAIRNESS, I did not call to complain about the workmanship, so they did not have an opportunity to fix the issues. They are not major, and from a distance everything looks fine, but I would have expected more. Based solely on our experience, I would not recommend Hawkins to a friend.

Description of Work: We hired Hawkins Floors to refinish the hardwood floors in our living room and dining room to match the foyer floor. The contract also included a 2nd trip back to come andrrefinish the hallway floor upstairs and the office floor. After finishing the dr and lr floors, they did not contact us to complete Stage 2 (refinish the upstairs work), so I assume they do not plan to do the work.

Description of Work: The estimate was given within a few days of my phone call to the Hawkins office. Floors were sanded, stained and latex polyurethane applied to living room, dining "L" and 11 steps. Replaced one cracked oak step and removed & replaced shoe molding. Original estimate was reduced with mailing coupon.

Description of Work: Sanding floor, re-staining and polyurethane finish in one bedroom and clean plus application of polyurethane water base finish on other wood floors in house.

Description of Work: Moved furniture out of the rooms to be refinished. Removed baseboards, sanded floor with a dust-free machine, and applied 3 coats of finish to the floors.

Description of Work: WE HAD TWO JOBS COMPLETED BY HAWKINS. THE FIRST INVOLVED SANDING AND REFINISHING OUR KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, LIVING ROOM, AND HALLWAY FLOORS. THE SECOND INVOLVED SANDING AND REFINISHING OUR FAMILY ROOM FLOORS.
