Cool Breeze Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning

Overall this was a great experience with Cool Breeze. There was a little scheduling confusion initially because I purchased a deal through Angie's List and their schedulers got confused because I had called and scheduled by phone and then they tried to schedule with me again via e-mail because I had purchased the deal online. On the day of the appointment, the tech called my husband and said he couldn't come until many hours after the scheduled appointment. My husband told the technician that would not work as this is a rental property and we had an agreement with the renters for access to the property during a certain time window. The owner/manager called my husband back quickly and rescheduled some of his techs so that someone could come during the agreed upon window. Once the technician arrived at the property, everything went great. He was very meticulous with his checks of the heat pumps. He discovered one issue with a missing safety valve, which MANY other companies had missed through years of inspections, and he rectified the problem quickly without too much expense. Now we know that the system will work more safely and consistently with that part installed. He was very knowledgeable and forthcoming with information, which we really appreciated, especually since we do not live at the property and so do not see these heat pumps often or know how well they're working. The final price was very reasonable, especially with the Angie's List deal I had purchased, and we'd definitely use them again, even at our own home.

The first thing I liked the most was the fact that the techinician arrived on time to perform a routine summer maintenance of my split AC system. He primarily checked the unit inside the apartment, then proceeded to check the unit on the roof of the building, and came back and finished with the unit inside the apartment. He measured the temperature differential, the refrigerant level, and the drainage for condensation. Not only did he explain to me what he was doing, but also answered all my questions - in terms I could understand, the second thing I liked the most. At the end I asked him if Cool Breeze performs pre-winter tune-ups, because I look forward to contacting them again. I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism and thoroughness of the service.

I purchased a deal for the 20-Point Air-Conditioning Tune-Up through Aingie's List. I was initially nervous about purchasing this deal at such a low cost, however, the service guy gave me the best service dispite the discount. He walked me through all of the work he was going to do and also gave me tips on how to improve the funtionality of my system. He did spend a little more time explaining some things to me which slightly delayed him making it to his next appointment on time but he wanted to make sure he did a thorough job. I would definalely work with Cool Breeze again. I did have pay for additional parts but those were at reasonable cost.

The technician came out and inspected the indoor unit. He could not inspect the outdoor unit because of the amount of snow on the ground. However, he offered to do the outdoor inspection at a future time at no cost to me. When I scheduled for them to come by again, they were not able to meet the time. I had taken a day off from work just for this. Everyone has a bad day, and so I am willing to give them one more chance.

From the e-mail I received through Angie's List, I was given 9 AM to 12 Noon as the time of service or arrival. Before Noon, I called the company to ask what time the service person was coming. I was told they were two technicians short that day, so the technician will be coming but a little late. Then the technician called me to say that they were going to call me but that they did not have my number and that they are coming from Rockville, MD. When he came, (I later found out that he was the owner of the company). He said they normally don't service my area. I told him that I wondered about that when I purchased the coupon, but their website included Northern Virginia and I knew if they were too far, that they would reject my purchase, but it went through, so I thought there wasn't going to be a problem. I also wondered why they did not e-mail me, to ask for my phone number, if they didn't have it. I thought this was standard with Angie's List to provide them that. I never had that problem before and I have purchased several coupons from Angies' List before. I was hoping they would have called me to let me know that they were running late. Other than that, the Tech/Owner seemed professional and knew what he was doing. He did the tune-up of my A/C, which was not functioning fully at the time. He cleaned out the outside unit and added freon. He did not do the full 20 point tune-up because he said the unit was so old, it's not worth fixing whatever could be wrong with the unit. He recommended replacing the unit, as it is now over 15 years old. I asked him to give me an estimate of how much it would take for me to replace the unit. He gave me some verbal estimate and told me he will need to e-mail me the actual estimate. I have not received that e-mail. The A/C though is functioning well right now and he told me to call them if they need to add more freon later on. He charged me $195 for 3 lbs of R-22, gave me a discount of $10, so I ended up paying $185, on top of the $59 I paid through Angie's List.

A technician came out to service our water heater on a Monday. It was working at the time, but the technician said that the problem was with the blower, which wouldn't be cost effective to replace. It completely stopped working the following day. Technician was able to come out and replace the whole thing immediately. It's hard to say whether I think we got a good price because we didn't shop around due to needing/wanting hot water immediately. I do wish they had waived the initial service fee since I called them the following day for a much bigger job. I had an Angies List coupon, so the initial service charge was $75.

Was not prepared to clean the kind of air conditioners I had, but was very flexible in working with me to get the job done.

The tech that came out was good, and very quick to diagnose the problem. He determined that the heat pump and air handler needed to be replaced because it was grounded out. He was very helpful in describing the full issue and providing the recommended solution. However that solution required that someone from his company provide an estimate, and a date for install. I followed-up three times during the course of a week to get the estimate. I was promised three separate times I'd get it shortly. Nearly two weeks later no estimate, nor a single follow-up. I would give F's across the board, if the technician wasn't so nice. I am providing a poor rating because overall the diagnosis was a waste because I had to pay another HVAC company to do the same thing again. They gave me an estimate on the spot and were able to install the new system a couple days later.

Fixed the problem. We have used Ronen Aronovich, the plumber, for years. He always makes sure the job is done right and our house plumbing thanks Cool Breeze for a job well done.

Technician arrived on-time. Completed an assessment of the inside unit. After running tests, he determined that the controller was inoperable. He retrieved a replacement controller from the truck, and he replaced it quickly.

I contacted Cool Breeze to have a short gas line run from an existing line inside my home to an exterior grill. A representative came out before the Memorial holiday weekend and quoted me a price of $130 for the first hour, $110 for subsequent hours, plus materials. Didn't love the price, but as we are preparing to host several upcoming dinners and wanted the work done, I agreed to the estimate and scheduled the work. No written estimate was provided. On the day of service, 2 representatives from Cool Breeze arrived an hour and half after their scheduled appointment. The guys were really nice, but the need for the second tech was never explained, and the two often disagreed with one another on how to proceed, the details of which had already been discussed during the estimate, but obviously not communicated to these two. Two hours later, they finished and submitted an invoice for $745 for 2 hours work and about 8 feet of copper piping, the installation of which appears amateur at best, even running the line OVER an existing downspout. The technicians were apologetic, but explained that the invoice had been PRE-written. How does that even make sense? To make matters worse, today when I was in the space where they installed the junction with the existing line inside the house, there was a noticeable gas odor. I called and complained, with the receptionist saying she'll "pass it along." I have yet to hear any reply. $745 for two hours of work is ridiculous enough, but to not even have it done correctly is unacceptable. UPDATE 6/7/14 I had a reply from Cool Breeze the following day. The gentleman on the phone was very apologetic about the quality of the work, and they offered a partial refund. Additionally, he sent the same two techs out the following day, who redid the work to more acceptable standards. I still think it was all overpriced, but I appreciated that they stood by the integrity of their work and sought to resolve the situation. I don't doubt that these are good guys seeking to do good work, but I still think they're quite overpriced and have consistency issues.

I was informed that I had a leak. I'm currently in the process in determining what I would like to do moving forward. I was given a price to replace the unit. I'm currently thinking about replacing the unit with Cool Breeze.

His service is excellent. They did an install and we're happy. They did a full install including extra duct work. He was more thorough and competitively priced. He did a great job. He was the best priced. He did have to come back out once after the install. but he came right back out , just because the technician put in the wrong fuse. They fixed it right away Punctuality was great. He was fast. They were real careful with the carefulness and the quality and cleaning up after themselves. They were here to get the job done.

From the start, I liked Ron. He is easy to work with, fair, and has a good sense of humor. For the amount I was about to pay for an AC replacement, these qualities are important. The job itself started a little late - the guys had a little trouble getting a unit in the attic. They were very concerned about damaging the ceiling - perhaps overly concerned as it was my responsibility to do the drywall repair. They called in back up to help, which was great - clearly this company works as a team. In any event, they figured it out how to get the unit up minimizing the damage to the ceiling, which was great. They worked through a number of challenges throughout the day and nearly finished at night. The new thermostat they installed created one last hitch as it didnt seem to work right. I was considering going to the store to get an upgraded thermostat and the rep asked me 'what would be most convenient for you' or something to that effect (great customer service). I said it would be great if they could get the thermostat so they sent out a tech the very next day (I was very impressed that they listened and got this thermostat in the very next day during this busy season) Overall, I really liked the entire crew - if they keep this level of service up, they have a customer for life. I fully expect to set up annual maintenance contracts on all of my systems with Cool Breeze.

I bought the $59 home A/C service package. They scheduled me within a few days, the serviceman was prompt and did a good job. He discovered a clogged line that was causing flooding and replaced it for a fair price. I would use them again.

They were pretty descent. They were a lot helpful and it was good work.

The technician was very knowledgeable and he was able to check our furnace, heat pump and both ac compressor units on the outside fof the home. He also check the air vents to make sure we had the correct amount of airflow. He gave us some recommendations on how we can save energy and also recommended that we upgrade our unit because our unit was too old. He provided us wit a detailed written report.

Well. The tech was polite, punctual, and called in advance to let me know he was coming. He also walked me through everything he was doing and pointed out potential issues to watch for.

I ended up going with another contractor, but only because my home warranty company required it. Cool Breeze went out of their way to accommodate me by providing a quote for a part with installation, followed by a quickly scheduled appointment. I would highly recommend this contractor.

The contractor setup an appointment time from 11am - 1pm. Around 10:30am, they called to say that the time would change from 1-2pm. It is now 2:43pm, they have not called or honored the appointment.

Cool Breeze / Aronovich Plumbing was very quick to offer us a Friday appointment for a rusted and leaking sink trap. The plumber was on time, advised on the most economical solutions when there were some complications (rusted connecting pipe), did the job quickly, and was extremely reasonably priced: $13.50 for materials and $155 for about an hour's work, including a "while you're here" job I asked him to do fixing and caulking a tub spout that was protruding. Highly recommend.

The company responded quickly when I called about 10 AM and scheduled someone that day and was told there were 2 calls before me. I was initially told I would see the service person about 1 PM. I did hear from the service person about that time,and he told me he would call me again before coming. He did, and got here close to 5. I understand that predicting how long a service call will take is not an exact science, and I was happy that that I got someone out here the same day - it was going to be a cold night if we didn't have a functioning heater. The serviceman (Renae) and his assistant wore protective footies, which I greatly appreciated (the last contractor I had that worked on our AC left behind a tar like substance in our carpeted basement. They diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me some advice about filter replacement and longevity of the igniter, and then replaced the igniter and the flame sensor, then set up a schedule for a maintenance call in the future. Both men were polite as well as concise and informative about the process.

Frank did a good job checking my old furnace. He took the time to explain what he saw and answered my questions. Will call this company in the future.

They were wonderful, followed through, and got the warranties verified. They let you know up front that they don’t work on weekends unless there’s an emergency – that’s very straightforward. They came in and corrected some problems another company had messed up - and only charged me for the labor. They got my other system up and running and I plan on using them again. They are very up front and follow up after their techs came out.

It was very good experience.They know what they are doing compared to other providers i used before. They are friendly with good advice.
