Motivational Movers

Picked up items at my fathers house and delivered them to my house.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. It was okay. It wasn't bad but not exceptional. It ended up being a few hundred dollars more because it took longer than expected. I think some of that was okay but it took considerably longer than I expected. They were all very nice. They were on time but it was slow.

These guys were great. Courteous, clean, quick and hardworking despite the cold weather. Beforehand they kept me abreast of their arrival. They estimated 6 hours for the job, but we're able to get it done in 3, including reassembling baby furniture, beds, kitchen table, etc. They asked me how I wanted things arranged, and removed things when I changed my mind. I would definitely recommend these guys again.

It was a very positive experience. They estimated that it would take 10 hours and they were able to do it in 8. There were six people including a supervisor and I only expected 4. Nothing got broken and they all worked well together. I was not sure how this would go as moving is always difficult but they made it better than I had expected.

they did a great job, were efficient, did not break anything. everything transported nicely. it took a longer than the estimated time, but they did great.

They were nice but they weren't in my area and couldn't help me out. I got a refund on the deal.

It went well. They showed up and did whatthey were supposed to do. If you want to save money, have everything packed and moved near the exit so they can move faster.

Great team! Makhi was totally amazing. He is a study in leadership giving clear concise verbal instructions to his team. I truly believe all his years of experience made an incredible difference in the success of this move. When I realized I had underestimated the size of my belongings, I talked with the supervisor and they supported me renting another 26 foot truck from a local company and they filled that as well. I had to pay for the extra man hours but it was a life saver and ended up being cheaper than getting two truck from them since I was moving farther away from their home station. I only had two minor damages which were immediately reported. If you're considering a local move I'd highly recommend them. Because of MY underestimation, they worked a 14 hour day, and amazingly they stayed professional and energized. Talk to them about their manpower options as well. Their rates are great. I'm glad I got one of their trucks since they had all the pads and straps but renting a second truck on my own and their support of that made them stand out from their competitors. My only suggestion is the young guys learn how to use other means to move boxes so they don't wear themselves out (straps etc.). Makhi knows that as well so they are working on it.

It was okay, it was good. They did break a knob from one of my little piece of furniture. It’s missing it so I guess it came off or something. It's not a big deal. But they were very good. They came promptly and they had a person there that was directing. I would definitely recommend them. They didn’t even stay for 4 hours, it was quick. They 2 guys in 1 truck and then another guy in an SUV and the manager of the move was a woman. I would use them again but only when I was moving a lot of furniture. The price was quite expensive. They moved a whole bedroom and a living room. The woman was just watching them and she really didn’t have to do that much because one of the movers was like in charge, too. One guy was probably new and they were definitely coaching him so that was good.

I called Motivational Movers 3 separate times, once on Saturday, once on Monday, and again on Tuesday and the phone was never picked up. I left a message after the Monday call and never heard back from anyone. I went with another moving company.

The service went excellent. Their website gave us hints on how to speed up service, such as taking apart bed frames and putting all boxes on the lower level, which we followed. This allowed the entire job to be done in only 5 hours, which was absolutely amazing. All the employees were working continuously and I never saw anyone loafing around. The two individuals that were supervising in some fashion (one actively working with them, the other more of an overseer) were both professional and polite. Would use them again without a second thought.

I was impressed with how the men hauled things from the third floor down a winding stair case and they were very efficient. They did a great job but the only thing is we were missing a container of clothing but they found it did return it after a couple of weeks. However, they made everything quick and easy for us

They were on time. And made sure that everything was moved to my satisfaction. In addition, they made sure to cover the floors in our new home and not to scratch the freshly painted walls as we moved in. They moved us quickly.

The movers were superior in service and attentiveness. They were very thorough and careful with my items.

I thought I had a wonderful opportunity to make my short move at a reasonable cost. However, the deal had many hidden costs that I feel are unreasonable and so I am canceling the deal. I will never again pre-pay for any services without knowing the true costs up front.

It was fine. They were very nice. They came and they were on time. They packed everything up and they got the job finished within the timeframe that I paid for. It was well organized. Everyone was very nice. I think the price was average. They were good. I have no complains. They are absolutely punctual.

They were efficient and professional, and they didn’t ruin any of the furniture.

They were awesome! They came out within a couple of days.

They gave me a quote for the job. Two days later I found the coupon on Angie’s List. They recalculated the cost and said it would be much more expensive

Everything went well. The job was completed to my satisfaction!

Motivational Movers provided excellent service at a great price! After calling a number of movers from Angie's List I called Motivational Movers for a quote on moving a few pieces of furniture from Baltimore to Virginia. I spoke with Amanda and explained that I just needed to move a few pieces of furniture. The previous companies I spoke with were helpful but had a minimum fee beyond my budget. Amanda was very friendly and gave me a quote based on time & distance instead of just a flat minimum fee so the price was actually almost $300 less than the nearest competitor. The movers showed up right on time (actually were a few minutes early) and were exceptional. We were working with an elderly couple and the movers were very patient, respectful, and did a great job of putting the couple at ease while getting the work done quickly. The movers did a few extra things that were really nice (helped to take out a number of trash bags, gave the couple some tips on packing other items, and helped me to pack a few heavy things in my car) and did not charge any extra fees at all. I am extremely happy with Motivational Movers and would recommend them to anyone looking for great service at an excellent price.

The company immediately tried to upsell me on a full move of my house. All I ever wanted was the 4 hours I paid for. They said this was fine, however the Big Deal did not include "Mileage" and a "Fuel Surcharge." I asked what this would be. $65 for mileage $191 for fuel surcharge! Note that this was for a local move; maybe 7 miles one way. I immediately questioned how in the world they charged two seemingly identical things. Evidently, this company is based in Maryland, and they had to charge to get down to Richmond, hence the fuel surcharge. Two things: 1) No, I will not pay for your trip down from Maryland. That's absurd. If you want my business, you come down here. I will pay for the fuel for the move itself, which should be a flat fee for "mileage," however, it is evidently not. 2) Angie's List: you screwed up. Why would you advertise vendors that are outside of the area. Shape up. Luckily, I was able to get my money back. Bottom line: BEWARE THE BIG DEAL

The service was excellent. They were prompt, and even were early. They packed up everything well, nothing broke. They asked me where I wanted things and even put some things up for me. They cleaned up and they were just very good. They were also courteous.

I purchased a coupon from Angie's list and was hoping to pay the $539.00 to get the move done. However, I didn't think the movers were motivated enough to accomplish the move in the time allowed for the coupon. I had a leather couch which was stored on its side directly agains concrete with no padding. I have yet now to find the legs to this sofa. i asked the movers to store the furniture in a way that I would be able to get to certain things and since I couldn't observe what was going on, I had a very hard time getting to the things I needed to get to once the items were stored and the movers completed the job. I'm not saying they were unprofessional however, I think the move dragged on longer than necessary, and now I can't locate some of the pertinent items I need. For the cost of almost $1,000.00 for the move of a two bedroom apartment to storage with no appliances included, I do not think I would go with this company ever again. I just recently had my furniture taken out of storage to my new place for 1/3 the cost.

Things went quickly and efficiently. The crew arrived on time, were courteous and aimed to please.
