They were good, very thorough and it turned out we had not let it run long enough. They tested everything and the system was running fine. They were prompt, very courteous in their manner and their price was very reasonable.

It went very well. We called No Frost at about 9:00 am on Friday morning and they were going to be able to get a technician out that same day. I was told it would be between 12:00 PM and 3:00 Pm and that they would call to notify me when they were on their way. At around 12:00 Pm they called to let me know the tech was on his way. Within 20 minutes the technician arrived and got right to work to access our problem. We were pleased with No Frost service and used the $10 off coupon from Angie's List.
Description of Work: Our upstairs air conditioning wasn't working and the service technician added freon to the system and cleaned out the pan upstairs. He noted that there were loose caps that may have caused the freon leak.

They showed up in the time frame specified, quickly fixed the problem, explained what to do to prevent it in the future (poor a cup of bleach through the drain pipe twice a year), all for $113. He had some special tools that made the work much easier than if I tried to do it (special PVC pipe cutter, compressed air device with a rubber fitting that forced water through the pipe, and a homemade watering can with a flexible tube for pouring water through the pipe). Overall I was pleased with the service and glad I called them rather than trying to fix it myself, especially since I wasn't sure exactly where the problem was.
Description of Work: A/C condensation drain was leaking, causing a couple of buckets worth of water on the basement floor. Called No-Frost and they came out later that same day, cleaned out the clogged drain pipe.

Came out immediately, gave estimate, completed work promptly during busiest time of year, provided exactly as promised for price estimated, handled all rebate paperwork, very neat and courteous, did extras at no cost, followed up for satisfaction. This was one of the best companies I have ever worked with, and not just HVAC companies, but of any company. I am quite picky. Would 100% recommend them to anyone

No Frost was a pleasure to deal with. There was always a person to answer the phone, they arrived promptly, were knowledgeable, did an excellent job of installation, fully checked out the heating/cooling, and cleaned up before leaving. Within a week, I got a check-up call from their office to see if I was happy with the job and whether there were any problems. They are a small family owned & operated business, and their personal, caring attention to my job was much appreciated.
Description of Work: My 18 year old heat pump finally died. I called several comanies for quotes. No-Frost came out and gave me a free estimate for replacement of my heat pump and indoor air handler. They also walked through my home to check my vents and air returns for proper air movement, and as part of their service, they removed and cleaned the vents and sealed any gaps. They also modified (at no cost) some duct work in another part of my house that is oil heated to provide better air flow. All old parts and debris were cleaned and hauled away. They did not damage any of our plants and bushes that surrounded the outdoor compressor.

My air conditioner has been limping along for a couple of years and I knew it needed to be replaced soon. The first time I switched my air on this season it blew hot air. After checking Angie's list I called 3 places, despite being super busy, No-Frost was the only company that I called that could provide next day service. Eilleen was fantastic, warm, personable and very professional. Chad came out the next day and walked me through repair vs. replacement, I was so impressed that I ordered a new unit that was installed the next day. They arrived on time were very professional and did an outstanding job removing/replacing my old unit. I think they went above and beyond--they even took my vent thing outside and scrubbed it clean, and did a better job of wiring than the contractor who put in the original unit. I highly recommend this company and will be calling them again as soon as my hot water heater gives up the ghost--which probably won't be long.

Very responsive family business. They have always given us options for service (repair vs new) Eileen is very organized and helpful and the men that have been to our home are prompt, very competent and neat. They are able to provide service in a timely manner and keep you informed about the time they expect to arrive. They did a wonderful job.
Description of Work: We have used this company in the past for routine maintenance and tune ups, this time around they could not fix the issue with our heating system and installed a new unit. They tried to fix our old unit one last time, could not, and credited the amount paid for service toward new unit.

It went wonderfully well. We had brought in 3 or 4 different companies to bid on the project and after hearing the spiel from the other estimators, the people from No-Frost impressed us the most with their obvious knowledge of the subject and familiarity with the type of home we have. The day of the job went like clockwork. A crew came in the morning and quickly and efficiently dismantled and removed the old furnace and A/C units. Then, a 2-man crew remained to do the actual installation work. The drilling they needed to do was very neat; everything was taped or fastened neatly. In general, we were just really impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, and interest in doing the job correctly the first time. One action that really impressed us was the fact that the crew properly attached the humidifier discharge pipe to the wall with proper fasteners. Whoever had installed the unit originally had used twine to hang the pipe from the ceiling! The No-Frost guys certainly didn't need to fix that, but we appreciated the fact that they couldn't leave such slipshod work behind them. Both crews cleaned up after themselves so well, you wouldn't have been able to tell that anyone had been inside the house or in the yard that day. Since the installation, we've had the company come back every year for the annual check up. Easy to make an appointment and the work is done quickly.
Description of Work: We had our 23-year old gas furnace and A/C unit replaced by No-Frost in May 2001. We also added a whole house air cleaning unit. We reused the existing whole house humidifier,

I decided on a SEER 16 heat pump, humidifier and electronic filter. I called Elaine at No-Frost and agreed on a delivery date. The team, led by Chad, arrived promptly, completed the work to my complete satisfaction and went through operating instructions thoroughly.
Description of Work: No Frost (Chad) gave me an estimate to replace my existing heat pump with a more energy efficient model. He gave me options for several SEER ratings, humidifier and electronic filter.

We discovered water was leaking in our utility room and narrowed it down to the humidifier ourselves. No Frost came out and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. The technician was very nice and helpful. A good experience! And we plan on having an annual contract with them for inspections.

My heater quit working on a Saturday evening. I called No Frost, because they were closest company to me, even though Angie's List had a note that they didn't service my area. (The list was wrong, they definitely cover my area). Left a message with a live answering service and expected to hear back on Monday, during normal hours. Received a phone call Sunday morning saying that they would be able to come out for emergency service, because they want to make sure people have heat in the winter. Great! Service person was prompt and was quick, but not sloppy, about doing the work. Everyone was polite and helpful along the way.
Description of Work: Examined air handler and electrical junction box to determine where electrical short existed. Replaced circuit breaker in junction box, applied anti-oxidizer to aluminum wiring in unit, evaluated heat pump to ensure proper pressure and electrical functioning.

My husband, my 10 month old baby and I recently moved into a house with a gas furnace (which we had never had before). After about two weeks, during the coldest week of the year of course, the house got colder and colder. We tried to relight the pilot when we figured out that it wasn't working, but couldn't get it to work. After three nights of close to freezing temperatures in the house (keeping the baby snuggled up between us at night and trying to stay out of the house as much as possible during the day), we found No-Frost on Angie's list. I explained the situation, especially the part about the 10 month old, and the company responded in force. There was a truck already in the area and Eileen made our house the next call. The repairman fixed the cracked igniter switch (a part which he carried in the truck) in about half an hour. We've never appreciated the warmth so much! No-frost was excellent to work with and very professional. We'll continue to use this company for all our heating and air conditioning needs from now on!

From the initial estimate all the way to completion, the entire experience was really good. During the estimate, No Frost was very up front and honest about what they offered, what everything cost, and what we get and don't get with their packages. I really appreciated this no nonsense, straightforward, and honest communication. Their prices were also reasonable and comparable to other reputable HVAC companies in the area. After going over the options with multiple companies, I eventually picked No Frost to do the heat pump replacement. The actual day of the replacement went well. No Frost gave me a call right before coming and was on time. Everything was done really efficiently, and they finished faster than expected. Their workers were very friendly and answered any questions I had. Overall, I was very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone.

During my yearly inspection it was discovered that my furnace was cracked. I was given an esimate for a new furnace alone, or a new furnace and air conditioning unit. We decided to replace both. In under one week everything had been ordered and arrived. The men came on time and went to work. Everything was done very neatly and professionally. They explained how the new system worked and walked me through it. I even got a new programmable thermostat for being an Angie's list customer. Everything was left nice and neat.

Although I wasn't happy with their first answer (that my system was not repairable), that wasn't their fault. No-Frost was upfront about the cost of the new system and not pushy during the sales process. They were fairly fast to order and install the new unit and did a neat job cleaning up. I have recommended them to a friend of mine and would do so again.

I was somewhat unsure that the technicians properly diagnosed the heat pump defrost heater problem. They jumped two contacts on a printed circuit board that they said should have initiated the defrost. Their only solution was to sell me a new circuit board. I may seek a second opinion. I also wasn't sure that the relay on the heat pump needed replacement...I realize that it was judgment call so I agreed to the replacement, without knowing its price. They allowed me to use a $10 coupon but didn't offer the 5% senior citizen discount shown on your Website.
Description of Work: Two technicians came to service my heat pump as well as my conventional gas furnace. They completed requested service, replaced a relay on the heat pump, and found two problems(heat pump defrost heater and furnace fan)that I will take care of later.

We have used this company for several years (we found them on Angie's List). Everyone we have dealt with has been extremely professional and responsive. My husband looked online after he was told about the cracks and found that there is a class action suit against the maker of our old furnace. It is fortunate that the cracks were found before we were injured. The installation went beautifully. There was no mess when it was done. The techs explained the new system and went over maintenance requirements with us. Elaine called the next day to see if we had any issues or questions. Overall a high quality company.
Description of Work: We have a maintenance contract with No Frost. During our heating inspection the technician discovered cracks in the system. The company gave us an estimate to install a new furnace. We decided to also install a new humidifier, pump and air cleaner. We set up an appointment to install the new system before the technician left.

Good service, friendly technician, and very competent. As a mechanical engineer, I'm picky about only hiring firms that understand HVAC systems well, and No-Frost fits that bill. Diagnostics and checks were thorough, and all problems were corrected right away. We've seen improvements in both heating and A/C performance since the visit, most notably in efficiency on the electric bill.
