Had Trunnell perform a heavy up to 200 amp. The service was performed as expected. The company showed up on time, was very professional. The cost was as estimated.

The man is neat, tidy, and time efficient. They did a great job at a fair price. I would defiantly use them again. They are at the top of the list.

I contacted Trunnell through the company website. After a couple of days I received a response to which I called and set up an appointment for today (22 August 2011) for an estimate. Unfortunately, there must of been a mix up for I was on the schedule for 29 August -- which is a day I will not home. Luckily I was able to reschedule for this Thursday morning. However, I know that s*&t happens - but it seems this kinda of stuff is happening to me more and more these days; and I can not be the only one experiencing the pain that comes with finding an electrician, etc. Are the news reports wrong and the economy is doing really really well. Is the shortage so bad that the country needs H-1B visas for electricians, etc (that is just a joke---hire local)

They did a nice job. We have used them before, a long time ago. They came and gave the estimate. They came back and did the job. Everything worked fine. They came on time.

They did a very good job. They took good care of us. We used them a long time ago, and during our first time in this area we used them. Things are pretty good with them. We have some westinghouse lights, and they installed them. He spent the worst time trying to get those lights to work. He put in some really nice lights at Annapolis lighting. We have been very happy with their work.

The very prompt estimator came right on schedule and within 15 minutes he had scoped out the work. We received an email estimate the same afternoon, and scheduled a date for the work to be done. The two-person team arrived promptly as scheduled -- not only on time, but early! They were professional, efficient, focussed, courteous, and cleaned up everything - no mess whatsoever. (We'd had another idential ceiling fan installed by a different company and it literally took hours. and they broke the light fixture in the process.) By contrast, the Trunnell Electric team was finished ALL the work in two hours, so I didn't have to take a whole day off of work. It was amazing. We will definitely use Trunnell Electric in the future and highly recommend this company.

Trunnell sent their estimator within a couple days of my initial call. He looked at the very old powder room fan and offered two solutions: replacing the motor or replacing the unit, noting his, and probably our, preference for the former if possible, as a replacement unit would be more expensive and would require plaster work. Trunnell was able to find a replacement motor unit. The MBA fan did not draw well and we asked Trunnell to advise. After listening to our concerns and making a trip to the attic, the estimator offered us a choice between two solutions, both involving ductwork changes and one offering a larger fan, and gave pros and cons of each. The proposal was submitted to us immediately, and the work scheduled and completed quickly, despite some bad weather. We were very pleased with Trunnell's work and will certainly use their services in future.

We first contacted Arnold Electric. To his credit, he declined the job saying that it was too difficult. He recommended Trunnell Electric. Their estimate would have been high for a normal installation, but as it took two people 4 hours and involved scaffolding, we were quite pleased with the work and the price. Also, the workmen took away the old fan and picked up every little scrap from the floor.

Trunnel did an exemplary job and obviously took pride in the work they do. I felt that some of the work was even above and beyond what was negotiated. The crew was very professional, friendly, and considerate of the home. They were also very creative in figuring out ways to re-route and splice into cables so that we could minimize access panels for accessing junction boxes once we refinish the basement. I highly recommend Trunnel for your electrical needs.

Due to the high quote/estimate, I ended up using another licensed electrician company and paid about $850 total (which is less than half of Trunnell's), the entire installation passed the county inspection. I was stunned and puzzled by the high price quote from Trunnell Electric because the entire work took less than 6 hours by the other company; the overall job was relatively straightforward as it was for an open space with no drywalls to punch through, mostly just pulling wires. The total cost for the parts was about $60 and we provided our own fan and light fixture, which means they were trying to charge at a rate of more than $300/hour. I didn’t use this company because it’s simply too expensive.

A ceiling fan rempte that had been replaced by a handyman did not work after the repair. I decided to call an actual electrician to check why it wasn't functioning. He disassembled the entire fan and found that when the handyman had installed the new remote that he had wired it incorrectly and loosely secured it in the housing with tape. He rewired it correctly and secured it correctly with a plastic tie. The remote now turns on the lights and the fan.

They were excellent. The price was competitive and honored the Angie's List discount. They came in the time frame when they said they would and did what needed to be done. The owner is very hands-on.

My great experience started with the quote. They visited the same day I called to seek an estimate. During the walk through they noted the location of the old pushmatic fuse box had been grandfathered in and that the new circuit box would need to be moved to an adjacent room in order to be away from an unmovable obstruction to meet the new code requirements. Of the two other companies who I had quote the job, one made no mention of moving the box and the other company suggested that moving it about two feet would suffice. I trusted Trunnell's explanation (which turned out to be true...see more in this review about inspection). Trunnell was then very flexible in scheduling the heavy up installation. When I called to confirm that I had selected them over the other vendors, I got on the schedule for the following week. The team arrived on time and worked inside and outside on a rainy, cold day to install the system. In addition to the heavy up, they installed three GFCI outlets in the kitchen. They were polite all day long and cleaned up their work area when they left. About a week later Trunnell called me to schedule the county inspection. When the inspector came, he noted the location of the old pushmatic box and said flat out that had the new circuit box not been moved to the adjacent room, he would not have approved it due to obstruction that had previously been grandfathered in (but would not have met the current code with no chance to grandfather in again). The inspector approved the new circuit box in the new location. That validated my choice of Trunnell....rather than install something in a location that could not pass code, they noticed the problem and gave me a solution. Trunnell was not the cheapest quote, but in the end they were the most accurate and saved me a costly headache. Had I selected one of the other companies, I would have ended up paying as a result of a failed inspection. By going with Trunnell, the job was done right the first time and passed inspection. If I have other electrical work to do in the future, I will be calling them first.

They have changed light fixtures for me. I had trouble with one light fixture in particular and they explained to me why. He fixed it, and it has been working every since. I have never had a problem with them.

I was unable to remove the long electric light tubes from a kitchen ceiling fixture. I have lived in the house for more than 10 years and never had to replace these bulbs. The electrician was able to dislodge the bulbs but I had purchased the wrong type of bulbs that were to replace the burnt out bulbs. The electrician explained the problem and then offered to go to the local hardware store to buy the 4 bulbs that he needed rather than reschedule another visit. Within 30 minutes he purchased the proper bulbs, replaced the damaged electrical part and replaced the old burnt out bulbs with the new bulbs. He even took away the burnt out bulbs for disposal. The electrician had a great attitude, explained the electrical problem and offered a workable solution rather than making me make another appointment.

We've relied on Trunnell for many years and are very satisfied.

Spent time checking out main box, connections to outlet first, and then proceeded to replace and or fix the outlets to accommodate light fixtures for them. Was very careful, neat, explained what he was doing and why. Older experienced electrician who was first rate in every way. Will continue to use this company.

The experience was just satisfactory overall. They broke one of our lights, and they were pretty expensive.

I called Trunnell on a Friday, and was able to schedule an appointment on Monday for the townhouse that we have rented out. The appointment turned out to be not workable for the tenant, who had it rescheduled. The electrician showed up on time, replaced the switch, and we were charged the half-hour rate of $98; we were not charged an extra $10 for the switch part. Nothing dramatic; we got what we wanted done. (I had called another ceiling fan company; they seemed reluctant to come out for such a small job.)

They arrived on time to do the work. They were professional while they were working. They were courteous and kind to me. I would use them in the future.
