The initial install wasn't done correctly, the technician incorrectly re-installed windshied wipers and other pieces. Had to call safelite to have the work corrected. In the end, the manager had the work redone, at the shop vs technician coming out to me (which was the first time). A bit of an inconvenience having to go back, however work was done correctly the second time If I didn't have to have a redo, it would have been A's throughout.

They left dirty fingerprints on the moulding. They didn't put the moulding back correctly. I had to have another company put the moulding on correctly. I called them up and chewed them out. I didn't go back because when you go back after you complain, who knows what they are going to do. I wouldn't use them again.

The provider advised that the repair may not go well and that sometimes it ends up looking worse than it did in the beginning - I was told I would be advised if the crack couldnt be repaired properly and the 128 dollars I paid for the crack repair would be credited towards full replacement of the windshield. What I did not realize was that Safelite would intentionally repair the windshield so poorly that it would require a full replacement. The repaired windshield looks like someone just smeared super glue over the chip. I was told when the car was ready that the repair had been successful - after I paid and walked out to look at the car I noticed the shoddy workmanship. I asked to speak to the person who did the repair and he said that given the circumstances that was the best he could do. The only way to not have the 128 dollars be a total waste is to book a full repair with Safelite and pay them another 250 dollars. This must be the way they make money off of unsuspecting customers. If the crack couldn't have been repaired properly, I would have taken it elsewhere or contacted my insurance company for a full replacement of the windshield, but at no point did Safelite advise me of this. Also, if the windshield wasn't repaired properly, they should have advised me prior to checking me out. I do admit that it was my fault for not checking the windshield prior to paying and also for trusting that Safelite conduct themselves professionally. I don't want to even take my car back for a full replacement since I'm worried about them pulling another bait and switch tactic on me or doing more shoddy work that will result in me having to take my car to the dealer to get fixed.

The new windshield doesn't fit as well as the original, and the space between the new windshield and the dash is so large that it's possible to lose items in it. Ultimately, we aren't happy with the quality of the work.

The technician installed the new windshield by hand rather than using the appropriate tools, and the windshield is now misaligned. Additionally, he used inferior wiper blades that had exceeded their shelf-life, and we had to pay for the wiper blades regardless.

Made an appointment and was quoted a price for OEM factory replacement windshields without insurance. I was paying out of pocket to restore a vehicle. I took the afternoon off work to have the windows replaced at the facility. The glass ordered was aftermarket from a less than quality manufacturer known for defects. The price was the same. OE or OEM is always more expensive. I was not told that the glass was aftermarket. I was lucky I asked before the work was done. Further, the price for aftermarket was the same price as the OE glass I specifically asked for when scheduling. I confirmed that I was ordering OE when I made the appointment. The quote I was given for the OE and the price for the aftermarket were the same at the appointment. So either the OE was never ordered, and I was lied to with a bate and switch, or Safelite was upcharging me for OE prices for aftermarket poorer quality glass. I complained to the company. I received a email that stated my concerns would be submitted to the appropriate department at Safelite. I have heard nothing in over a month. I even advised Safelite that I would post my experiences on Angie's List. Obviously they do not care about quality or customer satisfaction. This is compounded by the fact that I was paying cash out of pocket to perform the service. This was not an insurance claim. I cancelled the appointment and left. If you care about you car, go somewhere else.

The scheduling process went very well. I even received a personalized e-mail with the appointment details and the photo of the technician. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. On the day of the appointment I received a phone call saying the glass arrived damaged and they had to reschedule for the following week. The new appointment was 5 days later. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, I received a phone call in the morning stating the glass did not arrive but might be available in the afternoon. Late that afternoon I received another phone call stating the glass has not arrived, but was promised it will be in the next day. To my disappointment, they did not have any appointments available that day, so it had to be scheduled the following day (a week later after the original appointment). On the day of the third appointment I spent half a day waiting for the technician to arrive. When I tried calling the shop, the call kept being transferred to the wrong location. When I finally got through, the person at the shop confirmed the time the technician would arrive. An hour past the appointment time, they were still nowhere to be found. At that point, I called my insurance company back and changed the provider for the service. Safelite may do good work, but the amount of time I spent rescheduling appointments and waiting for them to show up, plus all the aggravation is just not worth it for me for a simple piece of glass.

Their ordering process and their communication was fantastic. When I initially placed the order, I asked them to come to my office to do the work, but due to other issues, I ended up calling them on less than 24 hours' notice to have them come to my home instead. They handled the change without any missteps. Their ordering and interface with my insurance company was first rate. I answered a 3 minute questionnaire online and had instant confirmation that it was all settled with them. I knew exactly what I'd be paying and when I'd be paying it. The technician who responded was prompt, courteous, and even gave me advice on a minor repair I'd been putting off. Thanks!

I called Safelite to get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix the crack in my car's windshield. I was told the windshield needed to be replaced because the crack was larger than a dollar bill. I was given an estimate of $288.95, which I was told was a discount. They gave me the option of them coming to me to replace the windshield or me going to them. There was a charge of $25 for them to come to me. I went to their facility. I received a confirmation email with the work order number and the total amount, including fees and tax. I also was given the estimate time the work would be completed: 90 minutes to 2 hours. I scheduled the appointment for Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. The technician, Adam, was very attentive and professional. He explained everything that was going to be done. The work was completed in an hour and a half. I actually got a pretty nice new windshield, there's a tinted area at the top.

Appointment at the shop was made by phone for the next morning. The phone staff were very helpful and helped me contact my insurance company while I was on the phone (I have no deductible on my comprehensive coverage, so no cost for me). The work was started on time and completed in the time frame described (90 minutes or so). Staff at the shop were knowledgeable and helpful. The waiting room at the Columbia shop was reasonably comfortable (no incessant TV). Would recommend highly.

I made an online appointment to have my car windshield replaced at my house one week in advance of the appointment date. Only an afternoon time was available (1-5pm). I received a prompt email acknowledgement. I liked that the email contained a picture and introduction to the tech who would be doing the work. The estimate was what I expected. Early in the morning of the appointment date, I got a call from the tech assuring me that he would see me in the afternoon. At 4:10pm, I got a voice mail message from the tech. He was not going to make it to my home by 5pm; estimated arrival time was now 5:30pm to 6pm. It was a very hot, humid day. The tech sounded exhausted. I was concerned that by 6pm all he was going to be doing is thinking going finishing up quickly and going home. This would not bode well for the quality of the work. When I called him, I only reached his voice mail so I decided to cancel. I was not contacted by the company or the tech after that.

Awful, awful, awful! We have a 2012 Prius V, and on their first attempt they did not have the right glass. The technician said he had two in stock but needed to order moulding from a dealer, so they had to reschedule. A week later another technician came out and said he had NO Prius V glass in stock, and they had to order it from a dealer!!! I fired them!

Safelite Autoglass told me he was coming out. They sent me a text message saying which technician was coming out and the guy came out and fixed it. When he was done you have to look really, really close to see where it was. Actually, as time goes on it gets less and less noticeable. They did everything right, they showed up when they were supposed to. Actually if I ever have a problem I will use them again. Hopefully I'll get the same technician.

I give this location all A's and I would use them again.
Description of Work: I used Safelite Autoglass because less then a year ago my front windshield shattered. I went to the one and the parking was horrible and they had ordered the wrong model and the windshield wasn't the right size. They were going to get me in the next day to do it but instead I found they had another Safelite in Columbia and it was a much nicer facility. It wasn't on a busy street, parking was easy access, nice waiting room to sit in, they had a coffee machine, very nice and pleasant. I just had to pay my deductable and the insurance paid the rest. The windshield, the labor and the kit came to $393.91 so total with tax I paid $150.00 and the insurance paid 272.00.
