He had to do snake out a diffucult blockage and reseal the wax seal. It took a while, but he managed to avoid having to access the opening at the ground level which would have entailed removing siding. His persistance and help in avoiding something a lot more involved was a relief. AJ Michaels sent someone out right away and this was a big relief too. I would recommend their services to friends and family.

The cleaning rag was not removed. Presumably it was dislodged enough to flow down through the system and out of the house, but who knows? Serviceman was courteous but unable to catch it.
I would caution customers to have charges explained very carefully in advance. I was told there would be a $79 "show up" fee, but was truly shocked when presented with a $404 bill for less than an hour's work (and involving no power equipment)! The plumber used a hand-held snake and worked for about 20-30 min. on it, to no avail. That cost $285 (in addition to the $79). Then, for a slow-moving drain cleanout in the sink taking about 10 min., the charge was $40. I had no problem with that. Total: $404. I felt I was ripped off. I balked, loudly . . . they did remove the $79, so the final bill was $325.
There was no "time out" written on my copy of the invoice; however, when I called later to question their fee structure, I was told their copy of the bill had a "time out" on it. So it was written in after I was given my copy. Their "time out" meant that they were claiming the work took an hour. It did not. It was more like 45-50 min. In any case, $285 for the work done and time it was done in seems excessive to me. I don't know if $285 is standard for a "secondary line cleaning," but if so, I'd say we customers need to form some plumbing cooperatives and start getting these prices down.

The entire experience was wonderful. Scheduling staff called and told us they had a team on the way. The service team of Kyle & DJ were wonderful. They explained the problem and fixed it. Simple, direct, easy. I will use them again!

They were able to start very quickly which was important to us since we couldn't get our house above 57 degrees in the dead of winter. Brad, who quoted the deal worked with us on pricing and fit our budget. He designed an innovative approach to solve a tricky problem resulting from a bad current ductwork design. His team was also creative, finding a way to get an additional heat duct to my kitchen, with no basement or crawl space to work with. They brought temporary space heaters to help keep us warm while they worked.

The project iniatially began as replacing the oil service and steam boiler, and then after the installation, we realized that the remaining galvanized piping in my house needed to be replaced. AJ Michaels provided outstanding technical and customer support throughout the entire project. And even though I realize their prices may be a little on the high end, I believe it was worth it as I easily passed the multiple inspections that were required for the new system to become operational. I especially appreciated their flexibility and ability to work through what became a changing scope of work. Before the service, due to corrosion in my galvanized pipes, it took almost three minutes for hot water to reach the shower on my second floor, and I could only run water from one faucet at time, or the pressure would drop to low. Since the upgrade, I now have the best shower in my neighborhood and great water pressure from all of my faucets - even if multiple faucets or appliances are dispensing water at the same time.

We are very pleased with the service. Our old hot water heater started leaking. One call to AJ Michaels and they had someone out to evaluate our situation and to make recommendations. The offered to have the hot water heater installed that afternoon, but my schedule required holding off until today. They arrived on time, the service guys were great and friendly. They were fast and neat and performed better than expected. Highly recommend and we will use again!

The estimator came out the next day after initial phone call when our A/C system died. He measured our house and specified a system that could NOT be configured as estimated. A second contractor alerted me to the inconsistency between the specified components (A/C coil and furnace) that would not work. The larger coil which resulted in the higher $1,000 BGE rebate was too large for the specified furnace unit. Upon installation I verified the part numbers and in fact the contractor had installed a different part number A/C coil, not the one I paid for on the contract. AJ Michael acknowledged the error and refunded the difference in the cost for the coil. The BGE rebate was also less due to the smaller SEER rated system coil.

They did a good job. They actually moved it in my attic so from where it was originally they had to move it and then they replaced the unit. They were reasonable. They did a good job. I interviewed probably at least 10 other people and there was other people that were reasonable but the one that they offered was a good unit. They did a good job to turn it in.

Another provider came out and diagnosed various issues with our 22 year old furnace and, ultimately, it needed to be replaced. I felt the other provider's quote was extremely high ($8000 for a bare-bones, basic system), so I called AJ Michaels. Their estimator, Don, came out on the same day-towards the end of the day- even though it was Christmas Eve. He discussed options, provided information about various systems and the BGE rebates we'd be eligible for if we chose certain higher-efficiency products. With his help, we opted for a Carrier 96% efficiency furnace and 16-seer A/C unit, each with a $400 Smart Energy Rebate.
In the meantime, we got 3 other estimates, and AJ Michaels offered the best product for the best price.
Installation was scheduled for 8 AM on 12/31/14. The team of three arrived early, put down covering on our (cream) carpeting, and were courteous and receptive to all of my questions throughout the installation process. Installation went smoothly, no issues whatsoever.
A few days following the installation, I received a follow-up call from Ashley of AJ Michaels to check on how things went and make sure that we are satisfied with the product and with the services provided.
I would highly recommend AJ Michaels. We found them to be prompt, courteous, responsive, and customer-service oriented.
