It's excellent, they do good work. They are know in the area a lot of people use them. It was quick, the person that did the replacement it was very well done the y did what they had to do it was pretty good.

Michael & Son completed some excellent electrical work for me a few weeks ago. I was impressed when they followed-up with a survey call to make sure the project was finalized. During that call, I mentioned my need for a second HVAC system in my house, and they immediately scheduled a visit for the next day at 10 am. The scheduled visit time rolls around and goes past. 30 minutes later I call Michael & Son to inquire about the delay. First, I'm told that the techs could show up as late as 2pm (which is not what was originally scheduled the previous day). A rep named Michael then got on the phone and said he could not provide an estimate of when they would arrive, as the techs were in a meeting. When I expressed my displeasure in the situation, he offered to rebook for another day. I took off work this morning -- their time and my time are both valuable. But if you can't make the first appointment on time for a rather expensive project, I'm not sure this is the company I can trust to do the work/much less give them my money. Hopefully my experience is an outlier.

When they came to fix the heat, last October, the technician told me the fix was "a 20.00 part." Needless to say, I gave him the okay and he fixed the heat and did so in no time. I was expecting the bill to be more than 20.00, obviously. I mean, I know how the world works, but I was given a bill of over 400.00! After several calls to the company and several "Someone will call you backs," one manager said to me "You signed the bill and now you wanna call and ***** about the price?" FINALLY, someone called me and offered to refund part of the bill, OR would give me a one year service agreement on the entire system. I opted for the service agreement, thinking anything could happen, since something JUST went bad. FAST FORWARD TO JULY... It was during the heat wave and the hottest day of the year, the AC dies. I called Michael & Sons and they started by telling me IF I wanted afterhours service, I'd have to pay for the house call. Okay, fine. I don't care. It's 88 degrees in my house. I got a call from the tech, who said he was working all night and would likely be out, in the morning. His name was Vito (sp) Really cool guy! He came out the next day and fixed a bad capacitor and replaced the fan motor and did the work in NO TIME. This guy really knows his job. He was very polite and professional. When he called in to the office, they said they couldn't find my service agreement. Luckily, I still had the email and forwarded it to him. He went to bat for me and told the office people that he saw it and it's good. They still wanted me to write a check for the work and parts!!! He knew that wasn't right and just had me sign the work order and didn't ask for a dime. In both cases, the technicians were very good guys and very professional. The office seems to be very un-organized and/or shady as can be. I would recommend a different company, based on that, alone.

Incompetent! Negligent! Had an HVAC system replaced with a high-end energy efficient system. Problem 1: The system flooded the basement. Reason: the installers did not take the packing material out of the condensate pump so it did not operate. Problem 2: The AC would not start after a power outage. The technician Michael & Son sent admitted he had not been trained on this type of system. After several hours, the manufacturer (Carrier) was able to diagnose that a power booster would need to be installed. Problem 3: The furnace stopped working during the coldest spell in decades with temperatures falling to zero degrees Fahrenheit. The technician suspected the problem was a faulty outside thermostat on the AC which did not make sense. He said he could not get hold of Carrier, but that Michael & Son would order the part and contact me when it came in. Four days later a Michael & Son office worker called me to tell me that Carrier did not know what the technician was talking about. Michael & Son would have the technician return the next day and be guided by Carrier in solving the problem. The next day the technician returned and had lengthy conversations with Carrier. Finally, Carrier support had the technician access the furnace control system to see how the installers had configured it. Sure enough, the Michael & Son incompetent installers had the HVAC configured that it was a hybrid system with a heat pump. So, there was nothing wrong with the furnace other than an incompetent installation that kept the furnace from operating when temperatures were so cold (when it was most needed). So, six days with an inoperable furnace during the coldest period in decades because of Michael & Son's incompetence and negligence! A disabled senior citizen who will never use Michael & Son for another project.

They did come out to assess what needs to be done, but the fans that they put in did not cover the holes (left by the old fans) like they should.

It is fine. We are still paying for it. They did the job right. The price was $10,000 for the A/C and new furnace. Unfortunately both had to be replaced at the same time. Price is a B because we didn't interview others and the price was good for the products we were buying. To get a better grading, they could have given a better price.

The service that the technicians provide is great, but it's expensive.

After trying to figure out what the error message meant by reading the manual, the technician suddenly remembered that they don't work on my type of heating/cooling system (i.e., a split system) unless they installed it themselves. It was a tremendous waste of time. It really seemed like the technician simply didn't have the expertise to address the problem. I had to figure out what the error message meant myself. I'd recommend looking for a company with suitable expertise.

Not well at all. I would never call this vendor again. It is a scam. They advertise a low price in this case $59 to come to my house. When the tech gets there he says that he will only diagnose and fix the problem (provided its not a big one) for $240. I ask him what the problem is and he says he doesn't know because he hasn't diagnosed it yet. I ask how we can price fixing the problem if he doesn't know what it is. He replies that for that fixed amount he will fix it. I ask what if its a really big problem will he fix it for the $240. He says no it its too big that will not cover it. What a scam. We call his supervisor Michael who thinks I'm trying to get one over on them. I simply ask them to diagnose the problem for $59 as advertised and he says no that's not the way they work. Please DO NOT call this vendor.
