We had previously worked with Energy Monster on a Mass Save audit and then adding insulation to our house. This time, we had the guys from Energy Monster back again to perform an electrical upgrade on our house (100 to 200 amps) and then install five ductless mini-splits for more efficient heating/cooling than our ancient terrible radiators. Despite dealing with a lot of obstacles -- a heat delay due to several 90 degree days and then tons of rain that prevented them from doing the outside work on the days they wanted -- the whole team was professional and efficient and made the most of the time when the weather finally cooperated! (Plus, my dog loved the whole crew and the loved him back.) It has been such a pleasure to work with Energy Monster as we turn our house into the energy efficient home of our dreams. Thank you!! We can't wait for Energy Monster to come back later this summer to install solar panels next!

Love the whole team at Energy Monster! Jim did a very thorough Mass Save Audit for us and helped us figure out why our house was so cold in the winter (zero insulation in our 1870s walls!) and helped us set up having Pat and his insulation crew come out to make things right. Everyone was professional, efficient, and kind. The insulation crew finished in half the time I thought they needed, wrapping up early each day and cleaning everything up so there was almost no evidence they had been there! And our house feels warmer and quieter already -- amazing! Also a special thank you to Tawny and Courtney at the office -- they very quickly resent the knob & tube form that my electrician needed to sign when I couldn't find the original PDF in my email. They were professional and helpful when I was panicking. Thank you! I really love working with this company, and I look forward to having them come back to install mini-splits and solar panels! I evaluated quotes from three PV companies before I placed an order for a 24-panel system. Here are three reasons why I went with Energy Monster: The publicly traded company that I favored first wanted me to sign away my consumer rights, (1) with no such provisions in Energy Monster's contract, (2) a good price and (3) Dan G., the very knowledgeable and dedicated sales manager / project manager / system engineer as the main contact, I felt safe placing my order with Energy Monster. During installation a few obstacles had to be overcome, all of which were related to the town's permitting process and required licenses. All that got resolved without incident eventually. The installation crew – Chris B. (Master Electrician) and Brandon T. – did an outstanding job installing the solar system. It passed all inspections with flying colors. There were no start-up problems. In summary: Energy Monster's pricing was good and they selected first tier 1 solar panels and inverters. Work dedication, workmanship, project management and technical expertise were outstanding. I like that no electric cables are visible. Energy Monster used a roof penetrating feedthrough, which is located underneath the panels. It was tested thoroughly during the torrential rainstorms in the months following the installation. Not a single drop of water was leaking through. Since August 1, 2018 my PV system produces energy. During the 5 months till the end of the year, I harvested 2,936 kWh. I live in Milford, NH. I have 24 LG 320Watt NeON2 panels with Enphase micro inverters. I am very happy with the solar system.

The owner will do NOTHING to fix our non working air conditioner. As soon as the temp goes over 90 degrees—it stops working. When my husband was trying to have a conversation with the owner today, he hung up on him. Unbelievable!! Boy, did we get screwed! We paid this company almost $20,000 less than a year ago to install a new system. Your customers need to beware of Energy Monster being absolute CROOKS and DO NOT USE this company! Now we have to use a portable aircondtioner in our bedroom to stay barely cool when temp rises over 90.

My experience was wonderful. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and after a thorough assessment, they were able to insulate my attic as well as create a dome over my attic entrance for the drafts. It has made all the difference! On top of that, they were able to recommend several other options and items that are covered through the Mass Save program to improve my energy savings. They will assist in any way they can and make sure you understand what's happening every step of the way.

The auditor that came out made the whole process so easy and understandable. He changed my light bulbs and a few other little things but i have already seen a huge difference on my electric bill just from the lighting. I learned a lot about my house and how it works as a system so that was cool too! I had insulation work done a few weeks after my audit and it has made my home and bills so much more comfortable and affordable. THE BEST PART IS I PAID A FRACTION OF WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY COST for the insulation and NOTHING for the lights. I can't believe i didn't do this sooner. If you are looking for a professional, Courteous, and Reliable contractor then look no further!

The service was free. The quality was good. Punctuality was pretty good. They were basically checking up on things. They were a little bit unresponsive when we were in the house until we knew exactly what they were doing and checking up on. It wasn't a major issue.

The workers were on time, polite, and dedicated to their job, but I wish I would have supervised the job. I was not told to wear a mask, nor to leave the house during the job. Cellulose dust got everywhere as they did not block off the area they were working in from the rest of the house. I actually experienced respiratory challenges for a several days after and had to call a professional cleaner to come in with HEPA gear to deep clean the house.

We never heard back with a report from Miguel or anyone from Energy Monster & several weeks passed before we finally checked back in to see what was up? We needed that report to file with National Grid so we could submit an application to MassSave to see if we could qualify for a loan to have a new furnace/boiler & indirect water heater system installed. Our current system was running below standard & we were having yearly problems with it & zones freezing up with no heat. We learned (then) that Miguel left the company & never turned in OUR report OR any of the photos he took throughout our home & no one at Energy Monster had the courtesy to call us to let us know any of this! We let them know how upset & very disappointed we were with their lack of follow-up or professionalism. They handed our case over to their supervisor, Julie Pennett who assured us she would be out to make things right. Julie did finally come out & spent several hours (re-doing) the entire inspection...taking more pictures, measurements, etc. etc. After all of that...she assured us ...we would receive a (thorough report & RECOMMENDATIONS most importantly) as to what we should take care to improve our current energy problems & make sure we received this report to submit to National Grid for our MassSave application. Julie also asked if we'd like (their new team of furnace/water heater installers) to come out & assess our current system & give us a quote. These 2 guys came out & were very courteous & seemed to have a reasonable knowledge & gave a reasonable quote for a new heating system (which followed in the mail). However, we received (just the bare necessity energy report) from Julie to submit so we could send in our application to apply for our MassSave loan. We called & asked when we'd receive the {full report of recommendations} and NEVER received that report after we were assured a 2nd time that we would be receiving it in the mail. Energy Monster just seemed to have some (internal management problems) and were JUST getting a (new) HVAC team on board & in place. They just didn't seem to have all their ducks in a row there & there was a definite break down in communication along the way. In the end, we were not impressed with their service & would (not) give them a great recommendation or high rating.

We got off to a good start with a tech showing up at our home to do a {FREE} home energy assessment report for us (sponsored by National Grid) to submit an application for a MassSave energy loan to have a NEW furnace/boiler & indirect water heater installed. Technician Miguel came out & did a very thorough assessment of all our windows, crawl spaces, attic & basement, lighting, insulation, & heating system. He was here for almost 3 hours & took tons of photos with his iPhone as reference for what he found & to include in his report. He promised a full report to follow soon & left us with (replacement) new energy efficient light bulbs, ceiling pot lights & 4 thermostats for all 4 of our heating zone rooms.

AMAZING! Our auditor was prompt and courteous. My husband and I felt extremely well-taken care of. In addition to his professionalism about our home insulation and energy efficiency, we also received tips, strategies and suggestions on how to help heat our home efficiently and effectively, beyond just the work that Energy Monster can perform on my house. The auditor was incredibly knowledgeable - clearly an expert. We also appreciated his interest in the environmentally-friendly aspect of the business, as well as saving us money on our utilities bill. A free home audit, knowledgeable and personable staff - I HIGHLY recommend this company!!!!

Our auditor was very enthusiastic about helping us save on our energy costs. He was patient with my husband we discussed our unhappiness with our heating bill and the drafts in our home. We also got some some free lightbulbs and a showerhead replacement! We didn't feel any pressure to get any work done but after talking to our auditor we moved forward with getting some air sealing and insulation work done. The crew was great - very respectful and timely. I was concerned about the mess that might be left afterwards but the guys cleaned up great!

I had Energy Monster complete an energy efficiency evaluation at my house through the Mass Save program. The two evaluators were on time and went through my house conducting their evaluation. They also asked if I had any areas that I knew needed improvement, (my attic insulation). They were thorough in explaining the evaluation and what areas could be improved upon. They didn't pressure me to complete any work nor did they pressure me to use their company. I ended up using Energy Monster to add insulation under the Mass Save program, it only cost $330 by doing so. The crew was on time, professional, and explained the work they would be doing. They were there for about five hours and cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again and have recommended them twice to friends looking to have insulation added.

I thought my home energy audit with energy monster went great. Their home energy advisor was ?Jim?. He showed up on time, was informative and helped me learn a lot about how they can help my home be more energy efficient. I agreed to have the recommended measures done and signed the contract that day. I received a call to schedule the work within a week by a nice lady who was very pleasant. On the day of the work everyone was very nice, clean and professional and the job went smoothly which is rare from what I?ve read about the trade which is why I chose Energy Monster in the first place with their great reviews. The guys seemed very respectful and appeared to care about doing a good job. The manager (I forget his name ? sorry) even stopped by to check on things during the work and introduced himself. My energy bills are already noticeably lower! I would highly recommend Energy Monster and will.

All in all I am thrilled with my experience with Energy Monster. I was able to receive 4,000.00 of work done to my home for 676.00! Air Sealing 924.00, Light Bulbs 400.00, Insulation 2,676.00. My out of pocket expense after rebates etc. was 676.00. I love these guys!!!

A few weeks ago my neighbor recently had Energy Monster visit their home and was bragging about their services. After discussing Energy Monster further with him and visiting their website, I decided to request my free home energy audit as well. I received a call from them within 24 hours and was quite pleased with their upbeat level of customer service. The call lasted 2-3 minutes. They inquired about my style of home, type of heating system, asked if there are any major areas of concern etc. They verified my contact info that I had given them through their website as well as my Nstar account # and confirmed a time for my home energy assessment. On the day of my appointment they arrived on time and set my expectations for what they were going to do. They accessed my basement and spent about 5-10 minutes there. They accessed my attic and spent 15-20 minutes up there. They used a camera to look into my walls to check on the insulation in them. That was very interesting. That took another 15 minutes or so. They then walked the outside taking exact measurements which took no more than 5 minutes. The energy auditor “Eric” then took a few minutes to enter the information into his laptop and printed up a report. We discussed his findings and how the work would be done. The rebates were exactly what my neighbor had shared with me. The rebates are instant and the prices are already set by Nstar so that there’s no negotiating. As a customer of Nstar and National Grid I was already paying into an Energy Efficiency Fund which is where the instant rebates, free audit and free light bulbs came from. This is part of the mass saves program. I felt bad for Eric. Yes we got free energy efficient light bulbs which are fantastic but he had to screw in 50+ bulbs throughout my home which took him approximately an hour. I let him know that he could just leave them and I could install them later but he said that he has to do it as it is what the utility companies want him to do and that he doesn’t mind at all. Eric was very pleasant and thoughtful. I also decided to move forward with the insulation work on my attic which I just had done yesterday. Energy Monster again arrived on time 8:00am. They introduced themselves and explained what they were going to do. “Steve” was the individual in charge. He again was very knowledgeable and courteous. The guys worked steadily and were very professional and polite. The job took one day and was complete by 3:00pm. They did a great job cleaning up and reviewing the paperwork with me before leaving.

Overall, I was nervous about them doing the work about an hour into the job. I would have reservations using them again.
Description of Work
I used energy monster because they were listed on the MASS Save list of approved contractors. They came in, looked around, told me what they think I should do and how much it would cost. Most of the work is covered by MASS Save, so it was very reasonable. The person that came to do the energy audit was novice at best. He really didn't give me the information I was looking for in an audit. I chose to use energy monster to do the blower door test (which was free) and to do some air sealant work in the attic and basement. They came back out a couple of weeks later (the agreed to date) and I was not very impressed. Their tools were not working correctly, their manager came out and he was not very customer service focused.

Energy Monster guys arrived on time. Talked to me about the problem. Did a thorough inspection of the roof and attic area. Explained what they found and what the needed repairs would be. The guys were timely, courteous, professional, dressed well. The service truck was professional looking, with name of Energy Monster it. I felt safe having them in my home.

Energy Monster came to my home to do an energy conservation audit. There were ice dams on roof. The cost of the service before rebates was $2850 I paid $850. They airsealed and added additional insulation.
