I have used and referred CES several times over the last 10 years and have never been disappointed! Rich and his team are truly outstanding!

The demolition and mold remediation presumably went well. Unfortunately, the work to finish the ceiling replastering and painting was delayed several months and then initially done poorly. To CES's credit, they did send in a different plasterer to repair the work. To be clear, I believe that CES operated in good faith. However, the work took months to complete because they seemed to have forgotten to finish it. Once it was back on their radar, they completed the work quickly and initially did a poor job, they immediately fixed it with quality. I have no choice but to ding them on responsiveness and punctuality.

Richard Power is awesome! We had a problem with some of our older tenants regarding mold in the rental house they live in. He came the next day after I called and spent over an hour inspecting the property and educating them on the subject and how to deal with it. This all being a free consultation. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew how to articulate the subject to the tenants. We can't recommend him highly enough as a honest person and businessman.

I'm a real estate agent with William Raveis and I referred this company to a buyer that recently purchased a house in North Andover. I used this company previously with a seller and they were very responsive and came to the property in a timely manner and the seller was very please with the workmanship and the company. The buyer made numerous calls to this company and finally spoke to someone. He was told the company was on vacation and someone will return their call the following Monday. Monday came and no one ever returned his call that day or week. He left numerous messages before I got involved. I called the company two to three times with no one returning my call until about a week later I received a call from the owner, Mr. Roberts. We set an appointment for a mold inspection for the following Thursday. Thursday came and after waiting 45 minutes for someone to show up, we left for the buyer had to go back to work. While we were waiting, we call numerous times with no answer. Both of us wastes our time waiting for this company that never showed up or called. To this day, neither one of us ever received an explanation or an apology.

I searched on Angie's List and contacted Commonwealth Environmental Services on April 8, 2015, for an estimate on a mold remediation project in my attic. It was easy to contact the President of the company, Rich Power, and it was easy to schedule an appointment at our home for April 9, 2015. He came on time and, based on what I had already learned when I received an estimate from a competitor, he knew what he was talking about. Rich and I spent well over an hour together and he shared the story of his life and family, his various professional endeavors, and his philosophy on business. Upon leaving, and without my asking, he said that I would receive a formal estimate by email the following day - April 10, 2015. I am writing this review on April 21, 2015, and to date I have neither received an estimate, nor have I been contacted in any other way. I'm disappointed at having had this experience for two reasons: first, Rich Power was inconsiderate to have wasted my time (and his), and, second, since I can't believe I'm the first potential customer to have ben treated this way, my high confidence in the vetting process touted by Angie's List has been significantly reduced.

He was very good. He came on time, explained everything he was going to do, and worked around my seller's schedule, which made her very happy. He had the best price and I will continue to use him.

I spent a lot of time researching and collecting estimates from mold mediation companies. CES was very knowledgeable easy to work with and very reasonably priced. They were punctual and got the job done in no time. Don came with all of the necessary paperwok- insurance info, certificate of completion, transferable warranty- without my even having to ask. I am very happy with their service.

Don gave us an estimate on our work and answered all of our questions. He was easy to work with. His crew was punctual, friendly and professional, and they kept me apprised of the progress and any additional issues that came up. I would definitely recommend this service!

Spoke with Don over the phone about some mold issues I'm having in my attic and basement, after getting a hefty quote from another "A" rated mold removal company on Angie's List. Don made time in the early morning to accommodate my work schedule to stop by my house to assess the scope of work. After reviewing my mold issues - which the other company quoted me $3,000 to clean up - Don gave me advice on how I could address the problems myself and prevent them moving forward. He was timely, professional and honest. It's rare to find companies that are professional enough to decline work when it's not needed. I'd highly recommend you call CES for whatever mold issues you may have before calling other vendors!

Don was a very professional provider. On time Thorough Efficient Clean Informative about relevant issues i.e. warranties etc. Personable and pleasant

They came and removed molds in the basement and sprayed it. They have a policy of 10 years warranty that if molds came back, they will come back and do the mold removal for free. They are extremely professional. The owner came out and he educated us on how molds grow and why we have molds in the first place. He was very honest with us and really explained to us. He did tell us things to do to prevent them. He did give us knowledge. They were extremely responsive, they left everything clean. The price was good for what we got.

We had an emergency situation due to construction in our home. Discovered mold in attic due to improper venting of roofing material from original roof installation 16 years prior. We were about to have roof redone in process of re-roofing new addition when we realized this needed to be addressed before we could proceed. Called CES - they returned my call within an hour, assessed the situation over the phone after asking thorough questions. Don gave me a quote which he was quite confident in based on the info. provided and agreed to be there in 2 days so our contractor could stay on schedule. He and an associate arrived exactly when they said they would, went over the contract with me in person (which he had emailed previous to coming to the house for our review) and went right to work. They were extremely professional, and I would use them again without hesitation.

Needless to say I was delighted as a previous "mold" remediation company told me I had quite a bit of it and it would cost $3500. to remove and correct. I would highly recommend Commonwealth Environmental Service of Worcester for their honesty and professionalism. From the initial phone call to the representative's visit was a pleasant experience. Do not call or trust anyone else to help you if you think you have a mold problem, they're the best!

Commonwealth Environmental Services provided me with an excellent and professional service from start to finish. Don came to look at my attic; the written quote arrived by email a day later explaining the method and what kind of chemicals they're using (good to know that it's non-toxic). After I decided to use the company, I communicated by email with Richard on setting up the appointment. Upon arrival, they covered my floor from first floor entrance, stairs and upstairs bedroom (with the attic door) with protective cloth. They did a good cleanup job afterwards; the area was spotless. Also, there's no overpowering chemical smell. This is the only mold remediation company that I contacted (three companies came and provided quotes) that provided me with a 10-year transferable warranty and without me asking, a copy of liability insurance and a list of referrals. I also appreciate that they explained the process and methodology of mold removal in writing in layman's terms. Highly recommended!

OK, anyone with a mold problem, PLEASE DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND TALK TO THESE GUYS FIRST! I called Don after a series of events. First, we came back from a labor day weekend vacation to find mold growing on a bunch of stuff in the basement. After some panic and searching, we called in Jeff May (also listed here), to do some testing. Jeff May did a nice job of finding our existing mold, and then did some testing on the walls and ceilings. All of his samples came back with mold spores, and he said we need to basically tear down our entire basement ceiling and a bunch of wood walls. In come two companies that he mentioned, and each comes back with an estimate suspiciously close to what the insurance limit would be ($10,000). In the meantime, it turns out our insurance won't pay for the work (long story). In parallel, I started doing my own research, and become suspicious... Basically, we can't see any mold on these things that we are suppose to tear down, I am asthmatic and allergic, but have no reactions, and it's all beginning to sound a bit fishy to me... I decide to call another company, and based on angie's list reviews chose CES. I told Don insurance won't be reimbursing us. Don came by, chuckled when I told him about the Jeff May report, looked around for a while, and then said, basically, that it would be trivially easy to make up some job that needs to be done for several thousands, but that our basement is just fine. He suggested to just use soap and water to remove the mold from the wood things stored there (Jeff May said the same thing), run our dehumidifier to 50% relative humidity, and sleep well at night :) So, if you want an HONEST estimate, not from someone who believes in making money through fear mongering and scamming insurance companies, but from someone who will call a spade a spade, DON (or CES) is the place to go!!!!! I know if I ever have a mold problem again, this is, without doubt, the only company I would call!

While removing wallpaper in my recently purchased house, we discovered black mold in one area. It appeared that there had been a leak in the roof at some point. I was worried that there was mold growing behind the wall and it would have to be ripped out. I called the company and they sent someone out the next day to evaluate. They tested the area and informed me that the mold was isolated to the surface of the wall, and would not require remediation. They came out during a holiday weekend (Thanksgiving) and did not charge me anything for the investigation. This was the second time they came to my house and tested areas for mold/moisture. Very professional and friendly. Would not hesitate to use them and have recommended them to many friends.

I have nothing but praise for Richard Power, his brother Don, and the entire CES crew. They were top notch in every respect. When I returned from vacation to find my basement dehumidifer had broken, resulting in mold covering the walls of my basement and portions of my first floor, I was unnerved. I immediately looked at Angie's list and made several calls to A rated providers. Richard returned my call that evening and was professional, kind and empathetic. He came out first thing the next morning and did a thorough inspection of my entire home. (None of the other companies were as thorough or as responsive). I was also impressed that he took the time to educate me about mold. It was empowering, as I can now spot mold and distringuish it from dust, etc. The reasons I hired CES vs. their competitors: * 10 year guarantee (The next best was 5 years) * Responsiveness & willingness to start the project quickly * Clarity of their proposal and their willingess to address my questions/concerns. * Competitive price Don and his crew did an exceptional job in under two days. They were prompt, professional, helpful and remarkably kind. My understanding is that all of the crew members are veterans. Their military training certainly shows in the quality of their work. While I hope that I won't have another mold remediation project, I would hire CES without question if I did.

I didn't actually use this service. I spoke with the guy named John, and he was very helpful. I showed him a picture of what I needed, and he was just very honest. My overall impression with him was good. He's friendly and easy to talk to.

Don came to to give me an estimate on Tuesday. He was knowledgeable and professional. He evaluated my attic and took the time to explain his findings and exactly what his company was going to do to fix it. A few days later his crew arrived. They could not have been more profesional can courteous. They did a great job. The price was much lower than 2 other competing quotes I received. I would not hesitate to use Commonwealth Environmental Services again.

Excellent. Preliminary discussions about what will happen, what could be saved and what should not be saved. Discussed schedule and work plan. Equipment and dumpsters arrived day before work began; work began on time and was completed in two days, as forecast.

We were satisfied with their work. We were under a tight schedule because we had the house under an agreement and the remediation had to be completed. And the report was given to us before the pursuit sale which was due the following week. So, we were happy with getting them in right away, getting the estimate and getting the work done and certified. These guys were extremely knowledgeable. They were also recommended to us by a few people.other than Angie's List so we did not even bother to get a second price. We had a number in mind from our builder here of what we should pay and they were well within that number.

They were excellent. They did the work in a very good time and they cleaned up after themselves.

We had recently moved into our house, and noticed a musty odor upstairs that we couldn't track down. Prior to our move, the former residents had used CES to remove mold from the attic, so they recommended we give CES a call. Don Prescott was polite, professional and informative, and set an appointment with us right away. It turned out that the odor was simply coming from plumbing in our hot tub (which we bleached, and the odor went away), and had nothing to do with mold that may have been left behind from the work CES had done just before we moved in. Don did not charge us for the service call, and seemed happy to help anyway. Given the nature of Don's business I hope we never need his services, but if we do, he'll be the first person I call, and I highly recommend him. (On a side note, I recently called him to see if we could hire him to get rid of mold from our central a/c system; he said he doesn't do that sort of work, but referred us to another contractor, Richmond Restorations, whom we hired, and it worked out great - my review of them can also be found on Angie's List.)

They came out the very next day from my call and gave me an estimate for mold damage remediation and removal of mold debris and air scrubbing of area. I approved and they did the work right on the spot for a fair price. The workers were prompt, professional and efficient. My only complaint is the length of time that it took to receive a receipt for the work so that I could submit to my insurance company. After 1 month, the owner explained that he had been very ill and apologized and provided a receipt. I would suggest a back up office person.
