Was persuaded to use this service because of posted referral. I needed thorough cleaning and some decluttering. Was reassured that it could be done. At first, she did not respond to the email that I sent thru Angie's List website. I telephoned, and we booked a time. She arrived with a helper, who knows very few words in English. The helper did the heavier work. The provider was asked to ask as many questions as needed. This did not happen. Also, dusting was skipped, and items put in odd places. There's more, but I don't want to relive the entire experience. I routinely do not hire non-English-speaking help. Too much risk of that person not being here legally.
Description of Work: Detail cleaning of bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, hall. Also vacuumed radiators.

Joanne is incredible. She helped us out during a tough family time and we could not have been more happy and relieved by all her work. Some family had highly recommended Joanne's cleaning services when we moved to their neighborhood. They have known her (and her family) for years and she has cleaned for them (and additional services at times, i.e. catering, serving, elder care) for 10+ years. We had never met or spoken with her prior to calling her for this service (had not been using a cleaning service after our move). Having moved weeks before baby #2 was born and with a toddler in tow already, we had given up temporarily on a clean, unpacked, and organized home. Our infant fell very sick suddenly and we spent a week juggling the baby in the hospital and our toddler at home. Needless to say, our home was a true disaster zone. We returned home exhausted and overwhelmed and were practically paralyzed by the mess we had left behind. We called Joanne in desperation. She came over the NEXT day and cleaned our home (AND did some unpacking). She only needed to ask a couple questions and then intuited (as well as I could have hoped) what we needed done. We were home the whole time trying to recover and she could not have been less intrusive - working around us, assuring us not to worry about anything, that she'd take care of things. We are so appreciative of all she did for us. We had her return recently to do an end of summer cleaning and she was, again, fabulous to us. We didn't need her to do as much cleaning and organizing as before and she was extremely reasonable about adjusting her price. I hope to have her come more regularly in the future!!
