We are a fully insured company and I (Paul Bianchi) personally have been in the landscape industry for over 15 years, working for companies such as Giancarlo Bianchi (1992-2006), and Mike Tambascia Landscaping (2006-2007). We have 3 employees and we do not use subcontractors.
Since we had been happy with Paul Bianchi when he did a fall yard clean-up at the end of last year (sorry, I can't remember date or price), we called him again for the tree job. He came the next day to check out the job. He had his team over to do the job as soon as weather allowed (within a few days as I recall). Paul is smart, friendly, efficient, a pleasure to do business with. We are about to call him again for some earth-tilling.
Description of Work: Cut down and removed one dead tree (maybe 20 feet high) and two conjunct sick trees (maybe 3 stories high).

It took months. He would give us random calls that they were coming and then didn't show. All of a sudden they told us it would be more money; they told us it was different than what we had proposed. We had several quotes; we went with them because they were cheaper. By the end I paid as much as with them with the other people. Their service was spotty at best.
Description of Work: He did a lot landscaping in our front and built up the back of our yard.

Paul and his crew are fabulous in terms of pricing and work quality. They were immediately responsive when I called to schedule the work and gave a thorough assessment and price estimate. The estimate was exactly what we paid. My only complaint is similar to what other members have posted in that there is a lack of communication about the status of jobs. Our scheduled work day came and went without anyone showing up and no one called to let us know that the job would be pushed back. Paul's wife was responsive when I called to check in but I would have appreciated a call ahead of time to let me know that the work would be delayed. We had to wait several weeks for the mulching to be completed...again with the same lack of communication. However, when the work was completed it was done beautifully. If Paul improves communication with his customers he will no doubt have an A rated business.

We were looking for a landcaping company and my wife went on to Angie's List and we decided on Bianchi Landscaping, because of the good reviews they received. We did note that the contractor had poor communication with some of the clients but went with them anyway. We received our estimate beginning of April and the work was performed today, May 31st. The work was completed in one day and we are happy with the service they provided. Negative: Unfortunately the reviews on contractor's communication with client remains the same for us. We had to contact them on 3 different occasions. The last communication was either they were coming out or we were getting someone else to do the job. Realizing that we have had inclement weather, on and off for a month, we knew there would be some delay, but wished there had been better communication on the contractors part. It would have given us a better feeling for utilizing them in the future.
Description of Work: Contractor removed 4 shrubs from front of our home and replanted 4 new shrubs, of our choose. We had 7 yards of loam put down and then seeded and fertilized. They also had to level off some areas, where needed.

After being gouged last year on a fall clean-up by a guy who could and quot;take usand quot; last minute, my wife and I resolved to sign up a reputable company early for our fall clean-up this year, since neither of us have time/patience/interest in raking leaves on our 1/3 acre property surrounded by conservation land. I called Bianchi on a Sunday, expecting to leave a message and be called back Monday. An hour later he was on the phone offering to come by within half an hour, since he was going to be in my neighborhood anyway on another job. and quot;Yes!and quot; Duh. His estimate was $200 cheaper than we paid the previous year, plus it included our gutters, which the previous guy had not included, AND he said he would come TWICE, which the previous guy would not have done without another charge. We signed up. Then the Halloween 2011 storm attacked and we had a massive tree limb crash onto our back yard, trashing an existing small tree and some shrubs, not to mention random storm damage around the yard. This and quot;limband quot; was as large as a lot of full size trees I can see from my window. I called Bianchi to ask if they did storm clean-up and, again, he got back to me in under two hours. He came by within 36 hours, called with an estimate, and cleaned up our storm damage within the next 48 hours after that. In the end, we received two leaf clean-up visits, gutter cleaning, and storm clean-up damage over the course of November 2011 for a total of $600. The work was professional, attentive to detail(they cleared our gardens by hand), on point all the way. We have recommended Bianchi to friends and will hire them again in a heartbeat.

It has been positive on the whole. You sort of get what you pay for. They are reasonable but not perfect but they are cheaper than a lot of the other services. I would say that they are good enough. The snow removal has been a bit difficult. We will continue to use them for now.

Description of Work: Someone answered the phone when I called (a rarity in the landscaping biz), and scheduled an estimate for fall clean up on the spot. The person who came was punctual and professional. However, the estimate was almost double what 2 other companies had given, so we did not use them for fall clean up.

I was really pleased with the Bianchi team. They did fantastic work in my horrible yard and made it look great again. Their cost is really reasonable and I have recommended them to friends already.
Description of Work: The company did a fall cleanup, trimmed bushes, and pruned a tree in our yard.
Let me start by saying that Paul's guys worked incredibly hard, both at the job and at making sure I was happy with the work. They were polite and helpful. They did everything on my list and even more.Paul's pricing was fair and straightforward. He was was easy to work with. Sadly, we did not seem to communicate well. His guys turned up one day and did about 65% of the work, then no one came for days. Finally I called, and two guys turned up for aday ... then one guy ... and so on. It took over a month until the landscaping prep work was done. While I hoped that the lawn would be in in April/May, it finally went in during early June. I did not hear from him again for three weeks, so I called. He said the lawn needed to grow and he would come by in two weeks. A week or so later, we left for 3 weeks. When we got back, the lawn was up to my knees. I called that day and did not hear from him for three more days. Then, I got an email that he would put me on the schedule in the next week or so. I tried to be easy going because I really liked the work they were doing. However, it was just too hard for me to work with someone who did not keep me informed of his plans.
Description of Work: Hired Paul Bianchi to do all our yard work, for spring clean up though major edging and mulching, to mowing/seeding/aerating/feeding the lawn and into fall clean up.

We had a Hard time this spring (april - june) with our foreman which led to his overall termination Also my wife was pregnant at the time. Where we are a small comp and my wife and I are the only people in the office it made it difficult for us to stay on top of things this spring. We take and took full responsability for everything and have since improved with everything. We hope people understand and are willing to work with us even when we are having a tough start.

Hired Paul to help with general yard work (so far) after 40+ years of DIY. He came out promptly to meet and look at the yard. Paul is personable and thorough. I think his pricing is pretty standard - certainly reasonable. His crew does a great job in a short time. Amazing to me as I could spend the whole weekend and the yard wouldnt look as good as after 1 hour of their work! Very happy overall and looking forward to working with Paul next year on a couple of larger projects I have in mind, in addition to the routine yard work.

Paul Bianchi was prompt and knowledgeable. He provided us a detailed estimate for a spring clean-up as well as an estimate for digging up beds around our house to place drainage gravel. His price was the lowest of three estimates we received, and - as a bonus - he has a member of his crew who is not allergic to poison ivy and who could help us remove this common weed in our yard. We ultimately chose the next lowest priced landscaper because that landscaper also offered to remove some dead tree branches at a very reasonable cost. We had all but given up on getting those high branches removed without paying thousands, so we jumped at this offer. I see now that Mr. Bianchi also removes tree branches, so I wish we had mentioned our problem to him. We have hung on to Mr. Bianchi's contact information, however, because he clearly is knowledgeable, responsive, and reasonable.

I emailed Paul that due to my layoff, I would need to defer the sod work until fall, but wanted to proceed w/ the remainder (~$1300); he assured me that would be fine, and could look at re-seeding in fall rather than sod. I emailed when I had not heard from them, and heard on 5/13 they had been delayed due to weather (understandable; I just wanted to hear from them.) On 6/6, after further calls, I received an email that bricks had been ordered, but were not yet in, but they expected to be on the job the end of that week. I have made several further calls, and have not heard back from them. I would have appreciated being told that they could not do the job at the smaller scope of work so that I could have found someone else, or that they were backed up and would be here as soon as they could. I can be patient if I know what is happening, but felt this was very unprofessional.
Description of Work: I met w/ Paul on 5/2, and received an estimate for extending a 65' perennial bed and edging it w/ brick, extending a tree bed and brick-edging that, cleaning and mulching other beds in the yard, grub treatment, and sodding part of front and back yard. Total estimate was for ~ $6500.

We did leave some messages that we had some issuses with the pavers and that we could be in once we got them because we had to match existing pavers furthemore we had gotten delayed due to weather and a truck being down. We were planning on coming at the end of the week that the member had asked and then the member cancelled. So we did not follow up the call after the cancellation.

The 2 men Paul sent out were courteous. They got right too work on a Saturday morning. they did most of their work fine but forgot to replace one section, instead using the old section. Paul was trying to work with me to keep the cost down, so we did agree to re-use some fence sections that could be re-used. I think maybe his 2 guys were just confused. Also, I wasn't happy with the way the front gates had been installed. Paul responded over the next two weeks by sending out other guys to fix the situation. I appreciated his responsiveness to my requests. He had a good attitude about it. It should be noted that if you have a fence, you need to make a distinction between a fencing company putting up something on the nicer end and someone just fixing your fence. Paul and his crew fixed my fence, that is what I could afford and they got the job done. I have never had my fence fixed before, so I was expecting something fancier when it came to the front gates. Paul reminded me that what I was paying for was a fence that was fixed. I agreed and have shifted my expectations. I know that fencing materials and work are expensive. This was what fit our budget for now.
Description of Work: We had them fix parts of our fence that had been damaged my the rough winter, or had just rotted out over time. About 5 sections overall, some needed new posts. Plus rebar where fence was leaning, to keep them from tipping over, to extend the life of existing parts of fence. We also needed our front driveway fence gates replaced. We also use Paul to do our basic mow & trim when we go away for a couple of weeks in the summer. They do a good job of it.

Paul is nice and professional. His crews do a good job when they come. We have canceled his service because he was not prompt. We live ~6 miles from him, so perhaps he is more punctual for closer jobs. During the major snow storm this month (1/12/11), we waited until after 6:00 PM for him to come plow our driveway; well past when all our neighbors were plowed out. He said he had minor equipment difficulties, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt. However, today (1/27) we had another milder storm. He did not arrive to plow our driveway until after 1:00 PM (even though the snow had stopped by 8AM), and we could not get out cars out of the driveway. He claimed he had come earlier in the morning, but since we are farther away than his other customers, I think he plows our driveways really early and then again really late, so between plowings we are unable to navigate out.
Description of Work: We contracted with Paul to do snow removal last year and this year. His rate varies by snowfall amount, but during the last calendar year, we paid him approx. $400.00.

My front yard was a giant mess after the water dept dug a huge trench then back-filled it with horrible rocky dirt. I wanted the top layer of yucky dirt removed and replaced with good dirt, then seeded. The whole area also needed regrading, and at the same time I decided to create some new beds and pull out the overgrown bushes in front of my house. I was kind of surprised that only one guy showed up to do all this work - it took him awhile but he did in fact get everything done and it looks fine. The price was much lower than other quotes I had, and I'm guessing this is because they didn't take out very much of the yucky dirt, they didn't roto-till, and they didn't hydro-seed (they hand-spread plain grass seed). So I'd say it was a "budget" job, but I'm fine with that. The grass has grown in now and it looks good.
Description of Work: Regraded and planted grass on a section of my front lawn that had been trenched for a new water line. Removed several bushes. Mulched.
I have recently contracted with this company to do my landscaping yard work and snow removal. So far, they have been professional, polite, dependable and have provided good service.
