For more than 20 years, The Original Chimney Sweep, Inc. has been my choice of service. A family run local business, they arrive as scheduled, perform quality work, clean up after completion, make timely service recommendations when repairs will be needed, provide accurate estimates, and always do a great job. And will schedule a routine cleaning appointment for the following year if requested, send out a reminder, and confirm the day is still good next year. Over the years, I have hired them to completely reline one flue, install chimney covers, and perform cap maintenance in addition to routine flue and wood stove cleaning. Office staff and crew are always professional and nice to work with.

Good very friendly and courteous service

Bob from Orignal did an excellent job on out chimney, he arrived on time and went right to work. Bob was courteous and took the time to answer my questions. The job was done effectively and efficiently, everything was cleaned up completely. We will certainly hire Original to clean and inspect again, and would recommend Original to all.

It didn't go well. They weren't able to do the chimney sweep. We bought it because we were selling our house that had a wood burning stove inset, I had called them ahead of time to make sure that was okay, they said it was but when they arrived they said they couldn't do it. They didn't even do the inspection and cleaning. It's uncomfortable because they didn't do the service, they weren't very clear about their terms about that. It was money I felt went down the toilet.

They came right on time, proceeded to get the ladders out and started working. One went up the ladder to the chimney and the other went into the cellar to start the vacuum. Within less than 3 hrs,, all work was done. They kept my husband apprise about everything they were doing and spelled out what had happened on the bill. Very thorough and very professional.

Everything went fine. They came out within a week after I purchased the big deal. It took them probably 2 hours. They have to come back and do some other work in the future.

I had used them years ago and had gone quite a bit of time without cleaning my chimney. They did a good job. They inspect the chimney and leave a report on whether or not they found a problem. After they left, you couldn't tell they were there - there was no mess. They also gave me a coupon for the next cleaning.

Originally scheduled for a cleaning in February. Prior to the cleaning the stove was cutting out, and the pellets stopped feeding properly. Called them back to see if they could do a repair as early as possible. I owned a Harman insert for 13 years and bought my second two years ago. This is only my 3rd call for a repair in 15 plus years but I know it's difficult to get a repair date "in season". Original Chimney Sweep got me an appt in 6 days which is pretty good (It's why you should schedule cleanings in advance). The reps came to my house, performed the service and left. My wife called telling me the stove still wasn't feeding pellets. To be fair, everyone makes mistakes. I left work, called their office and they sent a service rep back same day. I think the rep made an honest mistake in trying to get to the next job and after cleaning the stove, forgot to start it to see if it worked properly. However their service manager Joe, came back, pulled out the unit - emptied the pellets from the hopper and found a piece of thick paper blocking the feed tray. Works great again, and if anything, I'd give more credit to a company where a situation arose because they came back to make sure it was taken care of same day. I'd recommend them again simply because they made sure the problem was corrected. Pellets purchased at Lowes - if you go there to buy pellets, ask for the ones WITHOUT the large pieces of paper in the pellet bags., I must have asked for the ones WITH thick paper enclosed.

They called to say they would be early and showed up promptly to do the job. They called to ask about putting in the door to the chimney to allow them access to fully clean. They did a thorough job and I will definitely use them again!

The gentleman showed up on time, cleaned the chimney and the ashes out of the actual fireplace, and made a couple of recommendations on work that we need to do - e.g. install chimney cap. We were very pleased with how easy it was to schedule, the follow through (we had some questions and the company called us back right away) and how clean they left our house!

They arrived on time and called before they came. They repaired the flashing on the chimney in about two hours. They were professional and did a good job. I am hiring them again in the spring to replace the chimney liner and repoint the bricks.

They had scheduled a 3pm apt. but called and said they were available earlier which I was happy to do. They were prompt, friendly, clean and informative. They cleaned everything up and were very professional.

Joe and crew were fantastic. They were punctual and professional. Our chimney was in really rough shape, and it looks incredible, now. And, they came in near the low end of the estimate range, which was a bonus. I wish this crew did other home repairs, so I could hire them for those.

There was a snafu with ordering because my address on file with Angie's list was my old house. However, once we cleared up the confusion as to which house needed the sweep the vendor was prompt and professional.

The chimney technician was timely and fixed the issue quickly. He also gave an estimate for masonry work that will be needed in the future.

The sweeper was running only 10 minutes late but provided a phone call to tell me. I thought this was very thoughtful and showed that the company values the time of the customer - which is rare but very nice. The sweeper then introduced himself upon arrival and reviewed the service he was about to complete. He was very neat, prompt and worked the entire time he was at my house. I was very pleased with the work that was completed. Upon leaving, he again reviewed the services he performed, went over the invoice completely and asked if I had any questions. Prompt, courteous and professional. It's all I could ask for. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to any home owner. I have used others in the past but will only recommend this company for all future needs. Very satisfied with all work completed.

Great customer service! Quick process!

My pellet stove stopped working. Joe walked me through some steps and said he would be there in 15 minutes. He showed up in 15 and after executing the steps, the stove was working. These are the only chimney sweeps I use. The service is excellent and Joe is a top notch professional. Use these guys, you will not be disappointed!!!!

When I made the original appointment I was assured it covered the ash-bin. When they showed up they said they would not do the ash-bin. I have contacted several other companies and they have all assured me that that is part of the cleaning. I requested a refund and they said they would get it to me. After waiting several days I called about the refund and they informed me I would have to contact Angie’s List. This company completely misrepresented itself.

There were no problems at all communicating with this organization - very responsive. The two employees showed up 30 minutes early, but were willing to wait if I had wanted them to. They were careful to cover everything; there was no trace of their having been there after they left. They made suggestions of additional work (e.g. clean the pellet stove itself), but were not pushy about it. They gave recommendations of a cleaning schedule which made sense (e.g. clean the pellet stove flue every ton of pellets rather than a particular number of months).
