Jeff Souza responded promptly to my request for an estimate for the work that I needed done. I had also solicted estimates from several other companies. In comparison to Jeff''s estimate, one company's estimate was substantially higher (almost double), another estimate was about 25% higher, and a third was about the same. Based on the existing reviews for MasonWorks I choose them to do the job. The crew came out the following week and got the job done over the next several days. The work was first-rate. In addition to the garage repairs and the new front stairs, they patched a couple of cracks in the house foundation at no charge. And the crew cleaned up completely after the job was done. The new granite stairs have substantially improved the appearance of my home and have eliminated a safety hazard as the old stairs were badly deteriorated. I am completely satisfied with MasonWorks from the beginning of the experience to the end. I will do business with MasonWorks again for future projects.

The work performed was excelent. I didn't have to call in for the service to be done. They came as soon as the snow accumululated ( and we had plenty of it last season) and it was always cleaned on time. They also spreaded snow melt instead of salt and sand which is prejudicial for masonry finishes. I am very happy with the work they did

Jeff's team was punctual, professional and courteous. The excavation was completed in a day. The reconstruction was completed 2 - 3 days later. The installation included pavers in a unique pattern, a raised landing at the front door, regrading the surrounding yard and new outdoor lighting and granite post. We were pleased with the way they completed the work and would hire them again.

The crew arrived early (shortly after seven a.m.) and after setting up their tools, immdiately got to work. The work included excavating a large concrete pad in front of the house that was cracked and broken as well as repointing the mortar on the brick steps.The crew meticulously removed all the old concrete and cleaned and swept the area. They poured a new sturdy pad, reattached a loose handrail and repaired the brickwork. the job took one full day and part of a second. The crew was professional, hardworking - barely stopping to eat lunch, and very neat and tidy. The work is beautiful and I'm very proud of the new pad and repaired steps. I would definitely use them again - if I had a need, and recommend them to others.

The work provided by Masonworks was excellent. They removed the snow of the driveways and cleaned up the walkways and added ice melt. They were prompt and riliable. The work was compelted in a timely manner. Great service I can say

The church committee took some time to review, approve, and order a new rack. We contacted Jeff early in the process for an estimate and then needed to wait awhile for parts to arrive. Once we were ready, he responded promptly to an estimate request and worked with the church stuff when I wasn't available. MasonWorks finished the installation promptly and the congregation gave us good feedback the Sunday after.

Great experience - Jeff and team were just excellent. He translated our vision into a beautiful patio in very short time.

Super. We had decided not to pay them to do additional patch work, but they had some extra mixed concrete and did a bunch of patch work for free. Really nice guys and skilled workmanship. Very contientious about cleaning up. Two things that did not bother me, but which could be good to know: (1) I mentioned at the outset that I was from Angies List. He didn't include the discount in his estimate and I didn't remember till just now when going back to the website. You need to actively claim that. (2) Jeff's workers spoke very little English. One guys seemed to only speak Portugese. Really nice guys with gentle manner to them. They put my partner at ease even though she was initially uncertain about the idea of her alone with them in the house. It wasn't a problem, but it would have been if we needed to have a more complex conversation. It wasn't cheap; but I felt very confident about making the right choice. I wouldn't hesitate to go with them again.

Jeff' had stated that it would take 4 to 5 days to complete the job depending on the weather. His crew started the demolision on a Monday and all work was completed by that Saturday. There were a couple of days that they could not work due to rain. The job performed was excellent. His crew cleaned up after themselves and the finished job was better than I expected. He was professional and timely and at no time did we have any disputes as to what was being done. The job was completed within a one week time period which is exactly what was expected and delivered. I would use MasonWorks again if I have any other masonary work to be done. His price was reasonable and better than most.

Overall, it was great. The job was completely very quickly, in the height of a heat wave, withot sacrificing any quality. Very happy with this experience.

Jeff was very responsive and professional with the site visit, quotation and subsequent follow-ups with questions. His proposal was detailed and competitive but we decided to go with a local contractor.

Everything was great. Jeff was incredibly professional and responsive! He returned my calls usually within the hour, was accommodating as to meeting times, emailed pictures of work he'd done and brought over materials for me to look at before making my decision (and was patient with the time it took for me to make a decision). The actual work was done very quickly (in two days) and the masons left absolutely no mess -- there was no sign that they had been in my back yard - other than the fabulous new steps. The stones they used for the risers and sidewalls were a little different than what I was expecting, but it all ended up looking great.

Jeff was very prompt and professional. His turnaround giving me the estimate was excellent. Everything was laid out clearly. He showed great knowledge of his field. I had a very difficult time choosing which contractor I would eventually go with.

We got a prompt response on our request for an estimate. We had said we were in no rush to have the work done, so it was a few weeks before the work was started. Once they started, the work was completed very quickly. We did run into one snag--not surprising with a house build in 1827. When the deck was removed, there was a window that had to be bricked up, and because the old fieldstone foundation, there was not a flat surface for the installation of the steps. Jeff was able to come up with a solution quickly, so that the work could continue. This did result in an additional cost, but it could not have been foreseen at the time of the estimate.

Excellent - Jeff was responsive from the beginning and throughout the job. His crew was professional, hard working and did great work replacing my driveway with pavers - it came out terrific. And also masonry work on a retaining wall and front step looks great. Jeff was always available by phone or email if I had any questions. He is also very creative and his design came out better than I had imagined. I would highly recommend Jeff and his team - they take great pride in their work and it shows. I have had many friends and neighbors comment on how great it all looks.

It went very well. Masonworks started exactly when they said they would and finished right when they said they would. There were a few obstacles we encountered along the way that created more work to be done and increased the costs but Jeff was great about informing me of those things and working with me to find options. We also added a number of additional small jobs to the project along the way that raised costs but those were my choices. The crew worked very hard throughout the project, they were very polite and kept the work area very clean. All of my neighbors commented on how hard they worked and what a great job they did.

Job was carried out exactly on schedule while my family and I were on vacation.

All repairs were done in the timeframe promised. Workers were very polite and careful. A small extra cost was incurred when unexpected damage was discovered during a repair, but that is not unusual and was handled well. The work looks good and we were very pleased with the outcome. Highly recommended.

We are very pleased with the quality of work. His price was competitive with several of the other bids we received. We are were also happy with his professionalism and timeliness. Jeff responded promptly to our request for an estimate. After we selected him, he started the work within a few weeks and once started, he completed the work within about a week. We were very satisfied the timeliness of the work. He also cleaned up our yard well.

When Jeff first came to our home (promptly, I might add), we thought we'd never be able to afford his company. He was a consummate professional, and had many ideas for reforming our back yard. We were very surprised when their estimate was exactly on target with the others we were seeing -- but with the added bonus of his ideas and creativity for how to change our yard. We hired them, and they surprised us again by fitting us in early in the summer schedule. They then worked tirelessly from dawn (and we have little kids, we know dawn) to dusk every day (except Sunday) until the work was completed. They had a huge crew, all of whom were polite and responsive, and they worked hard and fast. We are totally thrilled with our new yard. It looks beautiful and drains like a charm. We are extremely happy with the work quality, and really feel that they did a wonderful job. We would recommend them to anyone. I don't have good pictures of the "before" but wish we did -- it is completely different!

Jeff and his team are a pleasure to work with. He was punctual and very attentive during the quote process, and when we accepted the quote he came back in person again to ensure that he knew exactly what we wanted before he started. His quote was a little higher than the other two we received, however, it was very clear that he knew exactly what he was doing while the other contractors seemed uncertain about building the fence on top of the retaining wall, so we selected him happily. He was able to start the work earlier than expected. He took care of all the details for us providing a very worry and hassle free experience, however, he also called us to consult with us when details came up which we hadn't discussed. Not being a fencing or masonry expert, I appreciated that while Jeff sought our approval before proceeding in any direction, he always had a recommendation ready in case we did not have a strong opinion either way. His team installed the fence and retaining wall very quickly (even working most days in rain) and the end result is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. They cleaned up very well. There was some minor plant damage, which Jeff responded to immediately when we reported it--he apologized and assured us the plants would grow back in by next year and to our delight they've actually all bounced back within a few weeks so this may have been an overreaction on our part. The only part of the project remaining is to seal the fence and nail in the final two boards, but this needs a stretch of dry weather so the delay is out of Jeff's control.

Jeff was great. He brought to the house many sample from which to choose and helped us think about the layout. His crew was polite, professional and very hard working. Jeff also worked with us on the pricing to fit our budget. He came by after the patio was put in to discuss follow up with us and make sure we were happy. We will call Jeff again with other masonry work!
