Dabbs Lock

I called Dabb's lock in the morning and he said he could come by around 4 to rekey all the locks in my home. He was right on time and was very professional and nice to deal with. He was done within about 15 minutes! He honored my Angie's list coupon. I was amazed at how good the service was and the price was wonderful. Whenever I need a locksmith I won't hesitate to call.

I called Dabbs Lock to take a look at it. They made the appointment for the next morning and showed up on time. I was expecting that the entire lock would have to be replaced and instead it was a really simple problem. It only took a few minutes to fix and did not require any new parts. The fee they charged to come out was half the price of another locksmith i had called and with the discount to Angie's list members it cost us 10.00! I really appreciate and trust them because they didn't "create" a problem with the lock set to make it a bigger job. They were honest, personable, and professional and for that i would definitely hire them again and recommend them without hesitation.

Here's the scenario: at 6pm on Saturday we are 500 miles from home visiting our son. We get a call from our cat sitter that the door lock is jammed, and she can't get into the house to feed the cats. We used Google maps to find some locksmiths, but it's Saturday evening, and they're all closed. Then I thought of Angie's List -- I had just joined and it wasn't embedded in my thinking yet. A quick search got us a highly rated locksmith with 24/7 coverage. My call was answered by an answering service which paged the on-call technician. In five minutes, I was speaking to him to set up a time when he and the cat sitter could go to the house. The tech kept me connected throughout the process, calling when he got to the house, again when he got the door open, and again when he had replaced the defective cylinder. Quick, efficient, and reasonably priced. I can't praise the service too highly.

Dabbs was able to schedule a service call promptly and sent out 2 techs. One was able to work on removing the key and the other cut new keys for us. The techs were very professional and friendly and got the job done quickly. The cost was very reasonable for the work done.

I called and quickly got a return call with an appointment for my next dsy off The owner and his colleague pulled right up around the time of The appointment. The two of them are experts in their field. I would say they had the cylinder fixed within about twenty minutes. I have officially made them my locksmith, and have communicated this to them.

I can't say enough about Dabbs Lock. The DJ, the service tech, was friendly, helpful and very easy to work with. He made the process of rekeying my lock pain-free. Dabbs Lock also gave me a very generous discount. They arrived on time, did a great job and I am very happy with the service they provided.

In the morning we could not get out through our front door because the deadbolt turner was not moving the bolt. I looked at reviews of the first several Angie's List locksmith listings for my area (Dabbs was listed first) and Dabbs looked promising. They answered the call right away and told me they would arrive after they finished with two other customers. They did arrive at a reasonable time a few hours after my call, and removed the old deadbolt and put in a new one very efficiently. Gave me the option to pick one whose key matches our doorknob key (great that they keep a varied supply in the truck). The door/doorframe had settled somewhat, so they needed to also chisel off some wood from the bottom part of the deadbolt hole for a fully unobstructed fit, and also a thin layer of wood all around it to fit the new metal plate--this they did quite expertly, and cleaned up the floor nicely afterward. I also appreciate that they list both an office and a cellphone number. Very reasonable rate, wonderfully friendly and proficient service; highly recommended.

We scheduled the time at my convenience and he was on time. I explained what I wanted done and he began work immediately. He was very professional at all times. He completed the project quickly and everything has worked well ever since. The cost was very reasonable. I would definitely use Dabbs Lock again.

Not only did he show up within an hour of my request; he did not bill me for the part of the lock he replaced. He was very informative and knowledgeable in explaining to me exactly what needed to be done. He was prompt and courteous as well as professional, and I was very grateful at his timely response given the holiday.

Great experience. I called DJ for a quote and he went through a quick cost calculation with me and made some suggestions on re-keying vs. new locks. After calling a few other locksmiths I felt most comfortable working with DJ based on his personality and also price. DJ was ahead of time on the day agreed upon and called me to see if I was already around. We looked at all the doors together and he knew what to do without hesitation. He prepared all the locks and keys in his van, before installing them nicely on all the doors. The whole process took not more than 30 minutes, much less than what I had expected. Overall very happy with the work performed by Dabbs Lock, and I will use them again in the future.

I called Dabb's lock to come and do a lock change on a new home we had purchased. I called a week in advance to set up the appointment. The answering service took my name and I received a call back promptly. I set up the appointment and they arrived on time and quickly took care of the lock change. It was timely and professional.

They came out on short notice and replaced the lock, no problems.

I called Dabbs yesterday to arrange an appointment for 5 today and I let DJ know that I would confirm after I talked to our tenants. I called three times today and once yesterday to confirm the appointment. He did not call back, nor could his answering service locate him. It was quite frustrating.

The serviceman from Dabbs Lock was helpful is choosing the best lock for my needs. He efficiently installed the lock and provided instructions on how to program the codes. I would definitely recommend Dabbs Lock.

I called Dabbs Lock to try to make an appointment after 5, and was transferred to an answering service. I left a message with them (a person) saying that I was interested in getting some doors re-keyed. I left my name and number. Dabbs Lock never got back to me. I never tried to call back, but went with Union Square Locksmith, who returned my call immediately and was very prompt.

I called around to three other highly rated locksmiths here on Angies, but Dabbs was the fastest with an appointment. I'm glad I went with them since everything went very well. DJ was very professional, I was not: I had to take a call, had other contractors around, and I had a huge fishbowl of keys and didn't know which one fit various doors. DJ took it all in stride and sorted through the keys to find the winners - very cool of him to do that. He also explained some of the locks and made me feel at ease. I was expecting to pay over $200 and had budgeted this amount (never got a verbal quote over the phone) since I needed a few new cores and wanted all three keys to match. The final bill was under $100... wow! My proximity to their office helps keep the bill low, but still, $100 is great value for these experts.

He was so nice and polite. I was very comfortable having him in the house. He worked for about an hour to get the lock unstuck. Then he was going to need to order a new part so that it would lock again properly (I was just thrilled to have the door open again). I was expecting to hear from him in about a week. After two weeks I called and he said he was going to call again to find out about the part and he would call me back. He did not call back. I called again about a month later and he didn't have the part and was supposed to call me back, he did not call back. I called back one last time and had the same experience. At first I didn't mind b/c he said I didn't need to pay until he finished the job. But now it has been months and I want to wrap this up and get it paid for before Christmas! I've considered calling another locksmith to finish the job but I'm afraid Dabbs will finally catch up on their paper work and charge me and I don't want to pay twice. So, he was very nice and it was a good initial experience, but the follow through doesn't seem to be there.
