Lee's Hardwood Floor Service

I submitted a request for a quote through the company's web site and received a callback two business days later to arrange an appointment. We set up an appointment. The next day they called to ask if would be OK to move the appointment to earlier in the day which was no problem. They showed up for the quote appointment right on time. After receiving the written quote, I scheduled the work to be done two days later. The workmen were on time and professional. The work was excellent and the refinished floors look great. The final price was exactly what was quoted. I will definitely use this company again.

Mr. Lee returned my call promptly and came for an estimate a few days later. He arrived on time and finished the job in the expected time of three days (though an extra day is needed for the poly fumes to subside). The apartment is transformed and the floors look great. A note, but not a complaint: I had to buy the stain myself. Mr. Lee didn't want to be responsible if I was unhappy with the color. I thought this was fair. Complaints Department: this man is not a perfectionist. There are a few areas where circles from the sander are visible and a few with wipe marks from the stain. He also didn't seal off the kitchen and bath with plastic sheeting before sanding and now they're covered in wood dust. I didn't expect that from a professional. Good enough, but I wish he'd come back and clean up the dust.

The crew showed up on time and did a great job. After the first day they had completely cleaned up any wood dust from the sanding, including wiping down the cabinets and countertops. Other than the fresh polyurethane, we couldn't tell someone had even been in the house. Considering the bargain price for the service, we definitely got more than we paid for. I would highly recommend Lee's for any refinishing jobs.

They were fast, efficient, very clean, and pleasant to work with. I thought the price was very reasonable. I had some follow-up questions and Thomas Lee was very responsive and gave me the information I needed. I would definitely use their services again.

Great! Sam who represented Lee's floors was honest, thorough, and very concerned about our needs. They were prompt. My only beef was that they repeatedly did not clean up their mess but expected our painter to do. I spoke to them about it but they again left their garbage. Other than that their workmanship was great and I would definitely recommend them.

I called several places. Lee was referred to me by a friend. Other places gave much higher estimates. They did quality work with no delays.

Professional. Fast. Cheap. Excellent service and work from start to finish. I think if you were a perfectionist, you'd probably notice some imperfections (a stray piece of carpeting) along the edges, but it doesn't bother me and it doesn't detract from the beauty of the floors. I would use again.

Sam Lee arrived on time for the estimate. Very professional, good recommendations. Two-man team arrived on time for the job. Completed everything in time estimated, and right on $ estimate. Floor looks fantastic - matches other area of the floor very well (actually looks better).

Thomas Lee answered the phone when I made my initial call and sent someone to look at the job and give us an estimate the next day. A date for the work was arranged quickly. The workers who completed the job were polite, answered all our questions and completed the job in record time. They also did a fantastic job of cleaning up. The price was great, a lot cheaper than other estimates. The floor looks like new. I'm thrilled and recommend them.

They came exactly when they said they would, did an excellent job, and cleaned up afterwards. We were very satisfied with the work.

Beautiful job! We love our wood floors. The company worked with our schedule (we had scheduled the work to be done one week, but then our purchase of the house was delayed by a week, so we had to re-schedule at the last minute. The reason this information is included is to show how flexible they were with their schedule. The job had to be done within a certain time, because we were selling our old home). The company was very responsive to our calls. They also cleaned up after their work. I've had wood floors re-finished by other companies before (in different house), and Lee's did a much better job of cleaning up. I really can't say enough about the beautiful wood floors. I won't buy rugs now, so that I can enjoy looking at the wood floors!!!

Returned my call the same day and scheduled the work immediately. Exactly on time. I sealed the two interior doors at their suggestion (plastic and tape) and found almost no dust in the rest of the house. The dust that was left in the rooms they did (baseboards and windowsills) took a few minutes with the vacuum cleaner to clean up. Thomas, who answered the phone, Sam who did the estimate and the three men who did the work were very pleasant, professional and efficient. I've already recommended them to one of my friends.

Preliminary call was professional and appointment made on a weekend. Floor sanders arrived on time, did an excellent job, cleaned up completely, returned as scheduled for additional coats. Very impressed with quality, value and service.

Due to logistic difficulties, we had two bedrooms prepared to go for the first step rather than three and a staircase. On the day the workers arrived, and called their Boss "Sam" to tell them of the change. Sam called my wife, and literally screamed at her saying we had messed up his schedule. I tried to talk with him and got the same treatment. We could have done some added prep that day to get a staircase or another room ready, but with the ranting and accusation there wasn't a chance. His workers at the house were apologetic for their bosses calls, and seemed quite embarrassed. Finally Sam said he was going to move his workers to another job, they got in their van and left, leaving us with furniture in the halls, and forcing us to change plans! Other customer reviews didn't mention problems like this, but seems that their experience was with a Thomas Lee. Remains to be seen if this is a one time occurrence, or a trend with a new manager?

Lee's is timely, expedient and reliable. We felt comfortable giving them a key to let themselves in and out and they were very independent. This is the second time we used Lee's and we will come back to them again the next time, too. They are the tops for price/service. Our floors look truly wonderful and we have absolutely no complaints.

After one of the owner's brothers came to our house and gave me an on-the-spot estimate, I asked him if they were insured. The man said that I had to call the office and speak to his brother, Tom Lee. When I tried to asked about their insurance coverage, Lee said do you want the work done or not, they told me that they didn't need my business and when I persisted, Lee hung up the phone. Lee was also extremely rude on the phone. I certainly wouldn't recommend trying to resolve a work quality issue with this company. They appear to not care what the customer needs.

I was unable to use them because they could not do the job as I needed it done, but in all other respects they seemed very good.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE'VE USED LEE'S FLOOR SERVICE; THEY ONCE DID A PARQUET FLOOR IN OUR FORMER CONDO AND NOW THIS LARGER JOB. THE WORK IS EXCELLENT AND HE ANSWERS MESSAGES AND DOES THE WORK QUICKLY AND CLEANS UP WELL.

SCHEDULED VERY QUICKLY. OUR DEADLINE WAS THE BIRTH OF OUR DAUGHTER SO THEIR TIMELINESS WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED. INEXPENSIVE. THEY WERE THE LOWEST OF 5 QUOTES, RANGING FROM $600 TO $2500. QUICK AND ON TIME. THEY ARRIVED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND WERE ACCURATE WITH HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE EACH DAY (8HRS+2HRS+1HR.). PRETTY HIGH QUALITY WORKMANSHIP. THE BORDER AND 12'' SHORTS REQUIRED GOOD WORKMANSHIP TO PROPERLY LINE UP THE SEAMS (BRICK PATTERN). ONLY A COUPLE PLACES WHERE THEY WERE MAYBE A BIT TOO FORCEFUL WITH THE HAMMER. FLEXIBLE. THEY DIDN'T MIND THAT I DID SOME OF THE BEFORE/AFTER WORK AND PROBABLY CUT ME A PRICE BREAK FOR IT. ONLY COMPLAINTS: THEY FILLED THE DARK HALLWAY WOOD WITH LIGHT COLORED WOOD PASTE...THEY JUST REMOVED IT WHICH WAS BETTER, BUT NOW YOU CAN SEE THE NAILS. NOT A BIG DEAL. THEY DID NOT CENTER THE TRANSITION FROM THE HALLWAY TO THE BEDROOM UNDERNEATH THE CLOSED DOOR. POLY FINISH NOT ABSOLUTELY UNIFORM. NOT VERY NOTICEABLE.

THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS OUTSTANDING...WE ARE AMAZED DAILY AT HOW GOOD OUR FLOORS LOOK. THERE WASN'T MUCH OF A MESS FROM THE SANDING (NOT SURE HOW THEY DID THAT?), AND THERE WERE NO URETHANE SPLASHES ON BASEBOARDS. THE CREWS WORKED FAST YET WERE VERY NEAT, CAREFUL AND POLITE. THE ONLY TWO THINGS THAT WOULD KEEP ME FROM GIVING THEM AN A+ WERE THAT THEY DID NOT SHOW UP ON TIME (2 HRS LATE--AN ISSUE WHEN SOMEONE STAYS HOME FROM WORK TO LET THEM IN!) AND THAT THERE WAS AN ACCIDENTAL CHECK PICKED UP (A CHECK THAT WAS LEFT BY ANOTHER CONDO MEMBER TO THE ASSOCIATION--SEEMED LIKE AN HONEST MISTAKE, BUT ONE THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.), STILL, I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO FRIENDS AND WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

THEY CAME IN WITH A LOWER ESTIMATE, BUT WOULDN'T RETURN MY CALLS WITH QUESTIONS OR ABOUT STARTING THE JOB. THEY ALSO ONLY PLANNED TO PUT DOWN 2 COATS OF POLY IN SANDED AREAS (AS OPPOSED TO THE 3 COATS PROPOSED BY MOST OTHERS). THEY DID PROPOSE A MORE COST-EFFECTIVE WAY OF FIXING A PROBLEM AREA THAN SOME OF THE OTHERS PROPOSED.
