Description of Work: I contracted Lee's to come do some minor patching of the floor where I'd opened up a new doorway, then to sand and refinish oak floors two rooms and a corridor. This was a while back (long overdue review), but my memory is that they showed up on time as promised and did a very good job for a good price.

Description of Work: I had my floors refinished. They came the first day and got the dust protectors up and got to work. The next day another crew came to finish the job. Fast and efficient with reasonable rates.

Description of Work: Refinished a parquet floor made of stick-on squares, darkened by dirt. Requested cleaning/sanding and a satin finish. Mr. Lee was OK on the phone but very hurried; said sanding was impossible, it would ruin the parquet (cause it to chip). He sent two men who spoke almost no English to do the job, so no questions were possible. They were also in a rush, but told me they would "clean" the floor before refinishing. I returned to find a gloss finish and no evidence of cleaning. Later had the floor SANDED and nicely refinished by another person on the List, who told me that there was no problem whatsoever with sanding parquet squares.

Description of Work: COMPANY CAME TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. THEY WERE FLEXIBLE WITH SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT TO FIT MY SCHEDULE AND THEY ARRIVED EXACTLY ON TIME. QUOTE WAS FOR 200 SQ FT OF OLD WIDE BOARD PINE FLOOR REFINISHING. MORE EXPENSIVE THEN I EXPECTED, THOUGH OFFER WAS INLINE WITH OTHER QUOTES.

 + -1 moreKEVIN AND HIS CREW DID A VERY GOOD JOB ON THREE ROOMS IN A MODEST SIZED APARTMENT. THE FLOOR WAS VERY OLD, WORN, AND STAINED. THEY SANDED, REPAIRED A SECTION DAMAGED BY WATER, AND DID THE TWO COATS THAT I'D AGREED TO PAY FOR. HOWEVER, THE FLOOR WAS SO ABSORBENT THAT IT SOAKED UP THE FINISH AND STILL HAD DRY SPOTS. I LET KEVIN KNOW THIS, AND HE SENT HIS CREW BACK VERY PROMPTLY TO PREP THE FLOOR AND PUT ON ANOTHER COAT OF FINISH. HE DID NOT CHARGE ADDITIONAL FOR THE WORK, AS I'D ASKED HIM AT THE ESTIMATE IF THREE COATS WOULD BE NEEDED AND HE'D NOT THOUGHT IT NECESSARY AND QUOTED TWO. LONG STORY, BUT BOTTOM LINE IS HE'S RELIABLE AND HIS CREW IS FAST AND SKILLED. THE ONLY REASON THE GRADE ON THE PRICE IS A B IS BECAUSE I HAD A SLIGHTLY LOWER QUOTE ON REPAIRING THE FLOOR, BUT CHOSE TO KEEP ALL OF THE PROJECT WITH ONE COMPANY. KEVIN'S ENGLISH IS SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER IN PERSON THAN ON THE PHONE, AND YOU SHOULD BE CLEAR REGARDING YOUR NEEDS AND EXPECTATIONS ABOUT DUST AND CLEANUP.

THEY DONT LIKE TO COVER SHELVES AND OTHER AREAS WITH PLASTIC TO MINIMIZE DUST ACCUMULATION, EVEN FOR AN EXTRA CHARGE, SAYING THAT THEIR BUSINESS IS DOING FLOORS, AND CLIENTS MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DUST MINIMIZATION THEMSELVES. OTHERWISE, THEY ARE EASY TO DEAL WITH, AND THEY DID A NICE JOB.
