Description of Work: Came in for an estimate as called by a potential home buyer. They over-inflated problem and even misinformed realtor on the extent of water damage. Pushed one solution which is the most expensive alternative of dry ice, while disparaging the other solution of antimicrobial cleaning; which was solution that they used before and a solution provided by several other Angie's list providers with A ratings.

They were supposed to start on 6/27/2011, but called and changed it to 6/28/2011 . They were supposed to be in my home for 3 days. It ended up being 4 days that week and the Tues. after July 4th weekend. The first day, Jacob borrowed my husbands ladder and light and brought down the boxes and bins that were stored in the attic, and piled them in the bedroom that we had removed the ceiling from (He walked on the ceiling beams in the rest of the attic). He covered the pile with plastic. He went to the van and got a large fan and a box of hoses and assorted junk.I really didn't pay much attention. He taped a sheet of heavy plastic (like a lawn and leaf bag) over the bedroom door , stuck a zipper on it, cut through the plastic the length of the zipper, and that was "containment".He supposedly sprayed something to kill the mold. He took a check for 1,930.00, which was half, the fan and box of assorted junk. I told him that he could leave that stuff in the bedroom since he was coming back. He said it had to go with him, it was company policy.(He only took that stuff the first day, it stayed the rest of the job, including over the Fourth of July weekend) The next day Jacob showed up with a girl named Edie, towing a sandblaster from United Rentals and they borrowed my husbands wheelbarrow to unload bags of sand. They went in the attic and started sandblasting.Unknown to me until much later, they didn't stop at whittling my rafters, they sandblasted the windows in the bedroom, the light they borrowed, and covered my hardwood floor in sand and then walked on it for the rest of the time they were in my home. They blew through their containment several times, covering everything in my home in black mold dust (dead or alive), sand, and wood shavings.I later collected a gallon ziplock bag full from my kitchen cabinets and drawers. They assured me that they would clean it.Edie was there an extra day cleaning.Unfortunately it needed much more that wasn't immediately noticable. I was told "If you find any more BIG messes give us a call, we have other places to be". I gave them a check for 1,920.00 and signed off on the job.I even tipped them! Their van left on a tow truck and they got picked up.When we went to put the stuff back in the attic I found items missing that I believe left my home in that box on the first day. Half of the contents of one jewelry box and a second jewelry box, contents and all, along with a coin collection. The jewelry had sentimental more than monetary value. It, and the coins belonged to my deceased mother-in-law. I made a police report, stopped payment on the check and called the lovely Christine Bustin, who claims to be the owner. She couldn't have cared less that her employee was a thief, she just wanted her money. She's rude, unreasonable, and lied in court. She sued me for the check amount and since the police report wasn't allowed, apparently I didn't prove my case sufficiently, and had to pay them. Live and learn....if a company can't afford their own equipment, they probably don't screen who they send to your home. Lesson learned
Description of Work: The estimate 0n 5/9/2011 was for containment set-up, killing the mold, sandblasting the rafters and plywood, vaccuuming up the dead mold spores and sand, and coating everything with Enviroshield to prevent future contamination.
