GORDON MYCOLOGY LABORATORY INC

We were asked a few questions on the phone and were given a cost estimate that was fairly accurate. Once we accepted Gordon Mycology's terms, a date for an inspection was set up. They had no problem coming at my preferred date. They arrived on time and went right to work telling me everything they saw right and wrong with suggested ways to fix the situation. Moisture readings were taken of the air and various materials around the basement. Swab samples were taken where they expected mold. A down payment (about 60% of the cost) was made by credit card when they were leaving. One week later we received a detail email report and that was followed up in a few days with a hard copy report and the final bill. Many recommendations were made that we could do and a few were made where a professional would be better. We were very happy with their work although a $1500- bill was a big hit.

(I'm a little late in writing this review as the work was actually done in December, 2015) We were told by a mold removal company that we should have the mold inspected first. We hired Deb Gordon, and she did a wonderfully thorough inspection. She answered all of my many questions, offered a lot of helpful advice, and was a pleasure to work with. Her follow-up report was extensive and helpful.

Very meticulous and thorough.

Deb and Chris of GML are both very professional and thorough. They showed up on time, and got to work immediately inspecting our home for mold and discovering the sources. They showed us exactly were the mold was in our basement. They also pointed out the areas where there was water damage, moisture build-up, and heavy rodent infestation, and took several air and surface samples. They advised us on the areas of our home that we needed to be concerned with. We had just moved into this home and I was expecting a baby. Deb was able to tell us upon that initial test and walk-through what we could do to prevent this from happening again. A little over a week later, we received the laboratory results back with a detailed report. Deb explained the laboratory results from the air and surface samples, and outlined a clear course of action for the areas that needed to be re-mediated. We could then hire a remediation company. Our remediation company worked from GML's detailed report to clean up our basement, and asked GML any questions that popped up as the clean-up was underway. Because our home had extensive mold, we hired GML to come back and do the Clearance Testing to make sure it was all gone (there is always mold in a home, but the levels were now extremely low if not non-existent). Our home is now safe for us and our baby to live in. My husband and I could not be happier of our experience with GML!

Everything went well. Deb and her assistant were very helpful, answered all of my questions, and did a thorough inspection of the house. At one point, her assistant watched my children for a few moments while Deb, my husband, and myself were in the attic. Furthermore, her follow up was excellent, and she provided us with highly detailed results from the testing and inspections.

I liked them a lot. They were very good and thorough. They explained things well and answered a lot of questions. They were thoughtful and helped me prevent recurrence. They were very helpful. They did not do the service but recommended companies to come. I don't remember the price that I paid for their services.

We had mold in 2 walls and floors related to leaks that occurred last summer. Deborah and her team were very knowledgeable and professional. Her reports were comprehensive and understandable. I am grateful to Deborah, not only for her professional skills, but also for her kind support during a difficult time. I highly recommend Deborah and her team for any mold question/problem.

Excellent! Deborah and her assistant took their time, gave us so much helpful advice, went through the house with a fine tooth comb--invaluable. And the report was incredible--so detailed. Better and more than we could have imagined! Professional and personable. We recommend this company 100%!!!!

They were very professional in the way they dealt with the situation and also in terms of courtesy and communication. They were very efficient.

Not at all thorough - they contracted to do a complete analysis of the attic space, went in for 5 minutes and said they couldn't access the rest of the space (my very large HVAC guy was able to get into every nook!) After much cajoling, they took 1 or 2 samples, but seemed reluctant to test much of anything. I think they had a bias towards not finding mold because they were hired by a condo association rather than an owner - which is disappointing for an "independent" testing company. My experience was so different from the other folks that reviewed them on this site, that I'm shocked it's the same company. If you want a biased opinion, this is the company to hire.

Deborah Gordon and her entire team were extremely professional and thorough. They took samples from the air ducts and crawl space. They found that there was mold and gave me reason to get out of the house I was renting. Their excellent service may very well have saved my life; I am still recuperating.

This company was great. The owner and her assistant came to my home to do the testing - they walked through the house with me to check each of the spots I was concerned about. I can't say enough good things - they were here almost two hours (I didn't feel they rushed through, nor did I feel like it took forever). I was able to ask questions as we went and they gave lots of advice along the way as to what to do with certain problem areas. They were VERY thorough. I wish the cost hadn't been so much but it was in line with the other companies I looked at so I think it just costs more than I'd like to get mold testing done! That being said, the cost was well worth it for the peace of mind that I now have knowing what kind of mold it is and what to do about it (not to mention the education I got about certain building methods, materials and air quality in general!). About a week after they were here I received a full, detailed report going room by room with their assessment and recommendations. It's a very helpful report and they made it easy for me to go through one by one to implement the recommendations (i.e. replace this board, move this insulation, put plastic sheeting here, move these basement items, etc.). They were professional, friendly and patient! Five-star all the way!
